  1. No access to the inside of the gate by disassembly. It's not like a Ford gate with an access panel. Based on your description of the damage, I'd say that your estimate will be for about 2-3 hours body labor, prob. 2 hours paint labor plus materials and emblems if you choose to have them put back on. Breaks down like this: Body ---------2.0 @ $40.00/hr = $80.00 -> $120.00 Paint ---------2.0 @ $40.00/hr = $80.00 Materials -----2.0 @ $20.00/hr = $40.00 Subtotal ------------------------$200.00 -> $220.00 Tax @ 6.75% -------------------$13.50 -> $ 14.85 Total ---------------------------$213.50 -> $254.85 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ That is just the labor to fix the dent. It doesn't include any time to disassemble the gate (take out the handle and bezel, straps, and latches) for paint, or labor to replace the emblems/trim. What emblems/trim is on the gate? More often than not, the emblems and such have to be replaced when removed from the vehicle. Those can run anywhere from $20 to $200 depending on whether it has the full width applique or just small decals/emblems. Hope that helps, I work in a body shop.
  2. I need to find a good home for my dog. My wife will be starting her full time job soon, and we just can't afford to keep him around. His name is Buster, and he is a CKC registered Golden Retriever. He is a very smart dog, but requires attention and exercise that neither myself nor my wife can give him with two young kids in the house. He'll come with a large crate, two bowls, leash, and whatever food is left in the bag. It should be noted that he is only about 10 months old, so he still has his bouts with "puppy dumb", but he generally listens very well, and will come on whistle command. Want to find him a happy home where he will be very much a part of a family. Unfortunately, with us all being out of the house during the day, it really isn't fair to Buster to keep him with us. PM me if you're interested, I don't have any pics right now, but I'll see what I can dig up. [ 28. December 2004, 08:36 AM: Message edited by: CR Caddy ]

  4. Looks like snow is on the way, and according to the forcast, it'll still be around on Saturday.
  5. Make me an offer, would really like to get around $50 for the headers. I'm in Gahanna, and would prefer pick up.
  6. Things are starting to look up, talked to my grandfather today, it looks like he's going to "sell" me his 84 'burban at least until I get the Caddy sold, and have some cash to buy something a little more economical. At least I'm gonna have some wheels...
  7. would be happy to help out, but 1 TRUE SS has my garage space taken up for the time being. Maybe once his project is done, we can work something out.
  8. ^^^ that's usually all people buy. the funny looking graphics. I don't think the sides look too bad, but on the hood and tops of the fenders looks like butt.
  9. Awesome graemlins/thumb.gifgraemlins/thumb.gif Looks great now... But, how many people will have that kit or one like it on their six cyl car in 5-10 years?
  10. In the same boat, except compounded by wife and kids also being sick. I've got an ear infection that I've been nursing for two weeks, and now I've come down with some kind of cold that my wife brought into the house. She's got it, I've got it, and my two and five year olds have it. Being sick sucks.
  11. You'd think that they would put forth a little more effort on their site when trying to get you to buy a "tuner" car than some crappy MS Paint rendering.... http://www.teamshinoda.com/red%20vert%20small.jpg
  12. That sucks. Maybe you'll be lucky and it's just a blown head gasket? Do some more teardown and let us know what it looks like.
  13. I'd say pretty good guess. Try checking out www.alldata.com for any TSB's or recalls. Make sure you check all model years (94, 95, and 96) as well as checking under Caprice for the same years. There may be a TSB for this problem as I've seen something similar on Cavaliers. Good luck!
  14. How does a person accumulate 34 DUI's in 48 years (assuming he started driving at 15) and not have enough of them overlapping in any given 5 year stretch to convict them of being a habitual offender?!!? Looks like this guy has just slipped through the cracks. Looks like the laws have been pretty lax in ND...
  15. Get ahold of Ben (1TRUESS) He's got another t56 around (read: in my garage tongue.gif ) with I think 48k miles. He won't be using that one. The one going into the truck is a new reman. **** Edit **** I don't think the one that Ben has will work, yours is an LT1 car? There is a difference between an LT1 and LS1 T56. Not sure what the difference is, but there is one. He took his into Berberich's (sp?) to have it checked over, was very pleased with the service, and gave me his recommendation. I don't have the # handy, but I know someone on here does.
  16. Tranny is bad. Still drives, but don't know for how long. Once it gets warm, it starts slipping gears pretty bad. Checked fluid, level is ok, fluid looks burnt. Need this car sold, so that I can get something else. Will be parked on Hague Ave. on Saturday afternoon if anyone wants to have a look. Awesome car for the money, you could buy a used tranny, pay Scott (Buckeye) to put it in, and have a great winter/daily, still for less than book. Someone take it off my hands!
  17. Saw a documentary one time, said that a croc can close its jaws with over 10k pounds of pressure. That hurt....bad. But, he shouldn't have been hitting the croc on the nose. Especially if he was gonna stick his hand in it's mouth!
  18. Saw the car, didn't see the fire. It was an early fourth gen firbird, likely a V6, black in color with a red door (maybe fender too, couldn't tell what with the fire melting the plastic and all), it had the base line five hole "swirly" rims, and had Southbound 270 backed up around to Eastbound 270, which was backed up passed Cleveland Avenue when I drove by at ten till eight.
  19. graemlins/thatfunny.gif Got stuck in that mess, huh?
  20. Thanks Scott, but I drove it home tonight, and it seemed to do okay, so I'll just take my wife's car to work for a few days, then I'll take it over to the West side on Saturday afternoon. It'll be parked at my uncle's house on Hague Ave. till sold. I can't see putting $800 into a car that I haven't to date been able to sell for $1500. At least over there, someone might be interested in it for a grand even with a bad tranny. I really appreciate the offer though. Just not sure when I could get the money to buy the tranny, let alone have you extend credit to me.
  21. Nah... That's cool, and I really appreciate it, but I think that the grandparents pretty well have it taken care of. You know how it is though, Daddy should be able to handle it, you know? I really appreciate the sentiment and all, but I didn't start this thread to ask for help (unless you know someone that wants to buy a nice car with a not so nice tranny for cheap! ) I just needed to vent a little. I really appreciate that within the first couple of posts someone is willing to come out of their own pocket to help another board member out. Thanks! It means a lot.
  22. Haven't had any luck selling my Caddy, and then this morning, the tranny started acting up. I was counting on selling this car before Christmas so that I could get my kids some presents, but at this point, I don't think that's going to happen. Now, my Christmas is going to be very slim, and I'm out a set of wheel until I can find someone to buy this thing. I'm hopefully going to get it home tonight where it'll sit until I can get it over to my uncle's house on the West side where it'll sit until sold with a bad transmission. I did locate a used tranny today at All Foreign, but I don't have the cash right now to purchase the tranny and have it installed (thanks for the quote Scott). Just gotta bite the bullet and go without a second car for a while. I hate this time of year. graemlins/doh.gifgraemlins/doh.gifgraemlins/doh.gif
  23. Don't worry about it, she's probably not interested in it any way.
  24. That sucks, sorry to hear about that. Did the other guy get cited for no brake lamps, or did you get the ACDA ticket? Need pics!
  25. That kinda looks like butt. graemlins/thumbsdown.gif
