Oil temps are in the 250 F+ range...some 335i/ix didn't have factory oil coolers. People have been noticing large amounts of metal in the oil (above normal). No failures of yet, but Dinan released a white paper saying the car is close to meltdown from the factory. They will only offer their warrenty on cars with aftermarket oil coolers and with their intercooler/exhaust package.

Hopefully he has something to take care of the extra heat of the coolant and oil...........

I would stay away from the N54 3.0L TT as triboligists are seeing very abnormal ware and tear. The platform runs HOT in terms of both oil and water temps. It's going to be interesting to see how the 4.4L TT v8 in the X6 holds up. Hopefully better.

Stay away from FMU's, period. High compression and boost doesn't scare me (it's worked well many combos, 11.5:1 and sometimes higher). The basis of any EFI controller is to properly control spark and fueling under any and all condition. FMU distorts this, unless its a simple 1:1 ratio to make up for intake pressure acting upon the injector.

I really like this project, thank you for the update. Hopefully they won't have any build problems with the GTK series. I'm suprised they didn't go Bullseye/Borg Warner. Are they adapting a factory LSx IP or going aftermarket?
