  1. I think after years of me annoying the bejesus out of him to make the switch, he may finally consider it.
  2. Neg, this was Alex Dorsey's 69 Camaro. Lots of small issues that really complicated the project (cam/crank trigger, wiring gremlins. etc) Matt doesn't believe in EFI -- he's one of those fuel brick guys.
  3. This is what we were seeing on the computer side, the orange/tanish line is MAP kPA. It's near atmosphereic at the start, and slowly tapers to ~85 kPa (97 kPa was nominal) @ 7500 RPM. http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/2017/kpadropns8.png Edit: This was done with no filter, different pressure tap location. Torque fell off the face of the earth @ 6500 RPM and the car only laid down 550whp - Mustang. The setup was literally a SB2.2 auction motor. The cam was roughly 268/274, .750 lift @ 0.050, 13.6:1 compression, on 109 Octane.
  4. I worked with an SB2, 408ci motor with some reallly tiny primaries. I think the setup was something like...1 5/8" O.D. primaries -> first set of 2.125 O.D. collectors -> final collector 2.5" ---> expanded to 3".
  5. Like the water-cooled M4x2 watercraft setup? Y U NO 249/240
  6. http://gun-deals.com/ammo - not bad, helps cut down the hunt time when trying to find in stock ammo (be prepared to $$$)
  7. That would suck, thats alot of pressure, even for seasoned engineers.
  8. Are you rolling into downtown? Rathskeller, Weber Grill, La Bamba, Sushi on the Rocks, Mikado, Palaminos.... That's our rotation when we head into the city. If I was over at DFAS or teleworking I'd be happy to meet you -- but I'm stuck down @ MUTC for our end-of-the-year-budgeting-fiasco
  9. I have to admit, after seeing a few on the road, they're starting to grow on me. Good work, will be neat to see this platform pushed.
  10. From the response to Ackbar's post. Wonder if he's been over to Big 3, Bigshot or Back Street?
  11. I've seen that car going to/from on 56th when I'm stuck at DFAS. I would say "hood rich" in that case.
  12. That is correct, there's a few companies out there that make quick n dirty manual conversion kits... http://www.jakesperformance.com/4L80E_Components.html
  13. I know this way outside of your 1hr rule, but if you ever get a chance to visit KY, Daniel Boone (Clear Creek) has some nice sights for hiking, ATV trail, shooting range.
  14. Hi John, I've followed "Mighty Mouse" and yourself over on LShauntech. What brings you to our little circle of the internet?
  15. I'm guessing it has alot to do with the steering shaft or rack & pinion clearances.
  16. Interesting setup, any pics of the header layout? 4.8 has a bit more cubes to lean on if you don't like leaning on a trans brake. Be curious to see what's more costly in the long run, built LS, or Stage II LC with all of the goodies.
  17. :gabe: http://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/199th/DCO/content/PDF/FM3-22-9.pdf US Army > USMC (atleast this year) Shooting is something you just need to do, not saying you can't practice fundementals and have a solid execution plan -- you just need to get out there and doooo ettttt
  18. I don't think you can mess up using irons...might need help in your breathing and how you hold the rifle.
  19. You can find older (but still good) 512's, for 350-375$
