I'll sum it up because this shit is getting old. Clean forms of drugs dont typically kill people (other than the occasional allergic reaction and overdose). Drugs are not needed by over 95% of the people that use them. Most people that die are killed by using dirty drugs, needles etc. Jails are backed up with people that did nothing but hurt themselves. Here are some pros and cons of legalizing it. Pros. Revenue - Lots and lots of money. Economic rise - This money will turn into economic benefits through jobs, less funding needed for prisons, and less people in "the system". Less deaths - Clean needles, clean product, no need for drug wars. Less crime - Less things to be arrested for = less crime. Also drug dealers wont have to fight each other as much. Drug dealing is a dangerous business. Cons. Increase in other crimes - Those people that make a living selling drugs will have to get money from somewhere else. People will also look for something else illegal to do. The legal tag may lead people to look for other ways to get a rush. Drunk driving will now be crack driving. Being legal means you dont hide in your house after doing it and you just won 2 games of crack pong and want a sprite. How to handle past drug convictions - Leave them, purge them? Lots of time and man power would go to making a decision. Side effects - We dont know the long term effects of these drugs. A lot of the drugs have violent side effects and cause paranoia. Law suits - They sue the tobacco companies, why not sue the crack company. Is not a fix all - There will always be someone making their own and selling it for less. Its the American way. If it catches on you get cheaper and cheaper products that are readily available. Against the way you were raised - Have to reprogram those that think drugs are the devil and the government is now full of money hungry hippocrates. As with any topic that has strong pros and cons it can be debated for years. The horse is getting tired of being beat.

Question dodged by I Eat Rice while telling me why I made this thread. Good to know smoking makes you able to read minds as well. In your head a thread about super zombie drugs is an avenue to give your legalize it campaign. Maybe we wanted to talk about the guns we are going to get to shoot the girl attacking us with machetes at spring break. This thread was suppose to be fun.. you killed my buzz fucker.

If I could place calls on my tablet I would get rid of my phone lol. Bond... James Bond. That is pretty cool.

Going to jail for hurting your own body is a bit too much. Being fined would be a waste because the fines wouldnt be paid. Forcing rehab on someone that doesnt want it wouldnt be beneficial. Ignoring it leaves people in society that are more likely to commit crimes. Its a lose lose situation. Legalize marijuana and other simple drugs and leave the rest alone.

Its not as easy as a sim card, but you call a number and it automatically activates your phone. All you have to do is enter the account password and the network does the rest. Not sure about the cool points yet. Aircards work good, but phones are tbd. Could be a huge failboat so I'll wait to see then in action. You know the rule about being the first to test something out lol. 3g is cool with me, but I only surf forums and text on my phone for the most part. Between having netbooks and tabets to use I almost hate using my phone now P.S the moto xoom is effing badass!!!!

Who else are you suppose to ask if you cant ask the idiots using the service Oh, you can activate your own phone without having to have the store or person do it. Been a while since you have interacted with Verizon huh... Either way if speed or sim cards are the issue they will be solved in a few weeks with LTE.

Just out of curiosity.. how do you know its horrible when you have been preaching about t-mobile for years? Do you call in and do your own survey every few weeks? Probably not but here is someone that does. http://www.jdpower.com/telecom/ratings/wireless-customer-care-ratings-(volume-1)/ Do more searching and you will find very similar results. JD power > you, no arguing that. When you have that many customers its almost too easy to find individuals that have issues. If you had the service I could see you complaining... but thats like me saying tmobile customer service sucks (when I dont have any reason to call them) just because I have 2 friends with tmoble phones. Furloaf.. You seriously may want to call. You cant cancel accounts online for a reason, and you dont sound like you know all of your options.

If the drugs people want are not available in the quantity they want them then they will still be sold illegally. Being government controlled will mean they will go to uncle sam initially then get them another way afterwards. Clinics can have drugs smuggled in just as prisons. Happens all the time. You said you smoke. Do you seriously think if the government said you could only smoke once or twice a month you wouldn't look for other options for the 3rd 4th and 5th time? If you smoke like you said you do I strongly believe your answer will disprove your logic about decreasing drug use. You get it illegally now, and it gets in the country illegally now... why would you go legit just because a legal tag was put on it? Government monitoring and distribution just means less illegal sources, not no illegal sources. P.S. I made a thread about zombies. I dont have to make a solution because I dont mind addicts going to jail.... Its called illegal for a reason.

A bartender saying you are done and being forced to attend AA are two different things. In one post you said abusers would be forced to seek help after being monitored. Now you are saying it costs too much to get help??????? Being monitored and getting help for drug abuse is not as simple as you are done for the night like with alcohol. That's more money from taxpayers to track and rehabilitate these people. The money gained from keeping people out of prison and legalizing it will be lost on government funded drug tracking and rehabilitation clinics. P.S. It is required as part of most drug related convictions to take part in the prison rehabilitation program. Its not optional. Funding was cut do to issues with the economy but they are still there. What makes you think a rehabilitation center can keep your new legal drugs out if prisons cant keep illegal drugs out? In the end the only way a person will get clean is if they want to. I could see changing the punishment for drugs to reduce people in jail, but legalizing it is not it.

If drugs are legalized I'm having a crack pong party in my garage!!!!
-
Why make it legal if we are going to police the use of it? Thats like telling a bartender to keep track of how many drinks everyone has. Then if a max number is exceeded they have to go to a government funded AA. I dont know if you know this but they do have rehabilitation programs in prisons. The same ones you can find in a voluntary rehabilitation center. Also in a lot of cases people are sent to those rehabilition centers instead of prison when they are convicted on drug charges.

If people are allowed to freely take drugs that cause violent behaviour that violence will branch out to others and impact more than the person taking them. I would also like to point out that the guy in the video said people would stop mugging people. Making drugs legal makes poor people suddenly have money? No, the only difference is the stolen money would go to a business instead of drug dealers. Would the drug dealers get jobs? No, they would have to reinvent themselves to make money. Things dont disappear they shift. That drug dealer is now in your house taking your TV. If anything is legalized the people that would benefit most would be our government in the form of additional taxable goods + more room in jails, and current users. Do people really think that no money having Samantha will stop selling her body for money just because drugs are legal? No, it will just be safer for her to buy the drugs because the product will be cleaner, and the salesperson wont have a hoodie like Phil. Now when she's high and sucking your man parts in the back of your 94 sunbird you'll be able to sleep at night knowing she will be able to get her smack safely from your local drug store.
