  1. NEW PICS added below! This vehicle is on it's second owner and came to me in what appears to be a typical 7yr old vehicle condition. It has been "cleaned" or detailed before as there is a detailing shop sticker on the drivers door from 2013. That however was previous to the current owner who has had it for 3yrs. They came to me from the Dayton area as a referral from Eric here on the board (thank you sir!) and were looking to knock a few years off it's appearance and to clean up the interior. We deciding on my Option #2 which targets 75%+ correction and to apply a 3 step ceramic coating it for it's super hydrophobic properties and low maintenance going forward. We also have Ceramic coating on all glass surfaces and the wheels. Lastly, he also went with my Option 1 Basic Interior Clean up package. The great news is with just a wee-bit more effort, I got it to turn out about 95%+ corrected Not finished yet as I have the final layer of ceramic to apply later tonight. The color is really cool. It's a Dark Burgandy/Cherry Metallic that looks black until the sunlight hits is. Then the brown/copper colored flake comes out and the dark cherry color pops through too. Hopefully mother nature cooperates with some late day sun today. Until then, here are some preliminary pics. Before: Hammered with swirls and hard water spots keeping it from coming alive http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443133/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443134/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443135/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443165/original.jpg After: Cleaned up the interior and exterior http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443138/original.jpg Gotta Love when black is done right http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443139/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443137/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443136/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167443132/original.jpg Stay tuned for more pics.
  2. Lived the suburban dad routine this weekend. Friday after work I cleaned up my car and went to dinner and movie with the family. Saturday I mowed the yard, finished up a detail for a CR Member. Then I fired up the grill and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon/evening on the patio with neighbors and the family. Today, I did a little more yard work and then washed my wife`s vehicle and topped off the evening with a nice home cooked dinner thanks to my wife and I rolled us out in her car to get ice cream. Doesn't get much better than this weekend if you ask me. 3. A Nano Mitt or Sponge does yes. Iron X is something totally different. Just not sure which you were referencing.
  4. Just be sure to use it in shade only. No sun or you will stain the paint.
  5. Casey bought his Audi just a bit too early
  6. Thanks Clay. Use a clay mitt or sometimes nano sponges in play of old-school clay. They are faster, re-usable and safer IMO. Small pale of very soapy water serves as a lube. Key is to keep rinsing them off and keeping the soapy water flowing over the surface so it carries away the muck. Use a light touch too and you'll avoid marring. Iron X is the next step. FYI, Iron X will ruin a clay mitt or sponge so never use it as a lube. Just spray on and let it work. It essentially just speeds up the breakdown process of ferrous materials. Once complete, just flush it off the surface thoroughly. Once done the paint will feel like glass. Super smooth and ready to be polished. Both steps are necessary to help not only ensure you're not polishing any of those contaminants into the paint but also to prevent your buffing pads from becoming contaminated as well.
  7. Many Thanks to fellow board member Brian Webber for trusting his new 2017.5 Mazda 6 in my hands. This super nice Mazda seems to have been one of the best finds for 2018. A brand new left over unit that seems to be to be fairly well loaded was picked up by him not long ago. I'm really impressed with the interior not just in design but in the quality of materials. As solid and refined as may BMW's of recent years. Very nice. Brian brought it to me to prep and prepare for him to really have nothing more to do going forward than basic washes and an occasional wipe down with a detail spray that is included with my coating packages. Full decontamination and prep revealed a lot of embedded particulates. No doubt from having sat outside in inventory. Nothing both a Nanomit and some iron remover couldn't make short work of. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431003/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431004/original.jpg Silver metallic isn't something easy to capture with a cell phone camera and even Brian admits that overall it's difficult to get it to really "POP!" like other darker colors, but in the end, it really nice and had the sun cooperated, the flake could have come out nicely. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431009/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431005/original.jpg All surfaces including the glass and wheels received two coats of their respective ceramic coating. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431007/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431008/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167431006/original.jpg Again, thanks to Brian and I hope you enjoy the newly finished ride!

    Kia Stinger

Way better option over Stinger IMO. If they were out and readily available in December I would have driven a fully loaded one and likely taken it home had the lease been strong. Key is definitely going to be how well they lease out.
  9. If you can live with the interior that would be great. However I was all set to pull the trigger on one until I sat in it. Sent from my Galaxy Note 8 using Tapatalk
  10. One of my sales reps bought a low miles Avalon Hybrid and has put over 100k miles on it with ZERO Issues and has only really ut tires and brakes on it. He averages 42mpg and if he really pushes it as low as 38mpg. Rides super smooth, classy looking without the Lexus bling. Bit old-school looking but hey, it's an Avalon and you're now a professional.
  11. Congrats on the pick up. Must be a fun car to drive if you had all those issues after modding and still went back. Nice to get a break by going white this time too
  12. That's awesome. Looks our gal Virginia. Is yours a mix? Here's what it looks like when cooking bacon on Sunday morning
  13. They did. At least it's a ZF one. Soaks up the added power they gave it though. I helped a good friend buy one just this week. Drove very nice. Slight bit of turbo lag vs the previous gen SC 3.0l. Trans wise however, it's smoother all around thus one of the reasons they went that route. Saves lbs and likely costs. No doubt cheaper to maintain.
  14. They are a bit under rated in terms of power. Keep in mind that the DSG transmission is pretty efficient too.
  15. Congrats and glad it all worked out. Not gonna lie, I do miss the Dual Clutch.
  16. I went through Dent Magic as it's right near my house and I didn't want to put him in a spot asking to do side work.
  17. I won't quote prices as that's not my place but they do get cheaper after the first one and it depends on the size and location. I will say that I've used John several times and he's always been nearly 1/2 of what others charge and I've yet to have a single case where he couldn't get the dent out 99% or better. Let's just say I hope he keeps the prices where they are for sure but he's worth it just the same. One of the dents in my case (the 1.5" one) I had done elsewhere last week as I was out on travels and couldn't stand having my wife see that shit in her new car for a week plus. I know I should have waited for John's schedule to free up but I just couldn't. That place charged nearly double the price and only got it out 95%. The one on the rear tail gate they said they couldn't do at all regardless of the method. I was SOL. John not only got all three out but they are completely gone, 100% perfect. Again, the dude has skills. When my Audi had damage due to something falling on it, he was even able to get the dents near the curve / edge of the rear quarter panel where it meets the window out 99.5%. Only I could tell where there was even the most minute twinkle but no one else would ever have noticed.
  18. If you haven't used John for PDR Work, you need to. He's truly a magician when it comes to removing dents and dings. My wife has had her new MK-C for all of two weeks and had 3 dings put in it already. (don't get me started on her parking) but in the end people can be real assholes when it comes to respecting or in this case, disrespecting, the property of others. One was nearly 1.5" and included a chip. The other two were smaller. He removed them with no trace of them even being there. I've used John before and once again, he came through! He's out of the Dent Magic location on Sawmill but is often dispatched around town so just set up an appointment and he'll take care of you and the price is more than fair and competitive. Dare I say ridiculously fair.
  19. Awesome movie and your kids will love it. It's fine for them Clay. Go see it and reward a couple of my good friends from high school, Anthony and Joe Russo the producers of it. Cleveland born and fellow Benedictine High School Alums  I really don't do much in the way of movie reviews as I'm a pretty simple guy that likes to be entertained, but they KILLED IT with this movie and the story lines around each of the characters. One of the best in my book. Enjoy!
  20. That's a lot of weight to be trapping like that. Damn!
  21. it is or at least I used to think that. I've since found the best way around it is to just fucking ignore it. I had someone at a meeting last week try and pull some bullshit by using a neutral pronoun and out of a group of 25+ they were the only one who used it. When they spoke up stating they were just trying to be "inclusive" several of us called their BS and said, let's just keep the shit real and end the funny talk. We used him and her the rest of our meetings. No more "persons" bullshit. They complied and dealt with it. No normal people talk like that.
  22. Customer with a beauty of a color Camry XSE V6 who bought the vehicle new and has never once themselves touched it. Just saw a series of car washes from the dealer and themselves. For what it's been through it wasn't horrible. Had a fair amount of very light scratches and swirls but nothing major. Customer pulled the trigger on my Option 1 a Basic Clean and Protect Detail that is an all-in-one process. The great news for them is that with right combination of products and pads combined with soft Toyota Paint came through with a nearly 95%+ correction to the paint. Surprised even me how well it turned out for an AIO. Cell phone pics don't do the color justice. This seems to be the year of Red given three of the vehicles I've done this year are nearly the same really nice Red Metallic. http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167398840/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167398837/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167398838/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167398839/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167398836/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/167398841/original.jpg
  23. ^^ this. If ever I have a need they have covered it. This year started off a bit odd when I called in early March to confirm the first per-emergence application and they didn't have it until mid April. I wanted it done mid-March and didn't care what the weather was like. My lawn care has always involved an early spring feeding and pre-emergence and it has thrived. Took a supervisor to change the application date but they did it. I was with Scotts for years and had great success. No problems with TG overall.
