  1. mojoe, thats funny that you met jake burton. if he is anything like his nephew (josh burton, the goalie for my hockey team) he must be a really nice guy! thats pretty crazy that youve been riding for 18 years. you started when i was 1! i remember when i started almost 9 years ago, there was hardly any one else riding. i had changed over from skiing, and it was so rebelious. next winter we should get some day trips planned.
  2. after a thread in the garage sale section (check out the thread "snowboard package"!!) im curious to see what types of setups people are riding with. ive always ridden a burton board (ive had 2 customs, now i have a baron) and i LOVE them. the other thing which i never wanted to get away from was my flow bindings. i grew up snowboarding in temperatures like -20* Celcius. i always got so cold sitting down to latch my bindings (stupid ratchets) so i got some flows. had em for 7-8 years, never had a single problem with them. i just bought new boots (salomon, wides) they didnt fit in my old flows. so i went and bought some Flow NXT's. of course, in the first few days of riding with them, i snapped the back plate in 4 pieces. i finally gave in and went and bought some burton p1 carbons (damn ratchets ) and i kinda like em! what does everyone else ride with!
  3. (making a post about bindings. people chime in if you want!)
  4. feel like working out a trade for 2 12" kickers in a box? and i completely agree that flows are the best bindings out there. NOT the nxt's though. i had this style flow binding for 7 or 8 years, not a single problem. went out and bought the new flow nxt's and snapped the back plate in 4 pieces the 3rd day i was using them.
  5. i think you need some 12's! want to trade for a truck? i guess at this point im open to trades. nitrous stuff?
  6. dammit. if i had seen this, i would have bought it without thinking twice. my board is back home in philly, and i wanted to pick up one to keep here at school.
  7. its not easy losing anyone who had any form of a presence in your life. when i was in 11th grade, my best friend died in a car accident. it was a friday night, we had all gone to a basketball game. some kid who was a year older wanted to show off his new mazda protege, so he took my friend and another girl who was a year younger out for a ride. they were on some back road through an old neighborhood with lots of trees, somehow they lost control and hit the first tree. this tree sent them airborn, at which point they flipped several times, hitting other trees. they finally came to a stop against a huge tree, my friend instantly snapping his neck. i went to a quaker school that had like 80 kids in a grade. my friend knew everyone, and everyone was equally devastated. the thing is, when we all had a meeting for worship the next day, no one knowing what to do, we were all just bawling. one of my other good friends stood up and said elloquently "i can feel greg's presence here... he is definitely running around naked, making the most out of the situation" the day before my friend died, as i was helping him with some math homework, he said to me "steve, i could be getting straight A's in this class if i wanted to spend my life studying" i forget who said this, but its on a poster in my frat house "dream as if you'll live forever. live as if you'll die tomorrow"
  8. i use liberty mutual, out of pennsylvania (not sure if its different in ohio) and theyre great. we used them before we moved away from the states (~1992) and when we came back (2004) they were just as good.
  9. i am parting it out (assuming this dude from ls1tech emails me back) send me an email at steveyd@gmail.com or sdipangrazio10@wooster.edu
  10. i actually might part it out. someone on ls1tech wants the box. what would you offer?
  11. have 2 12" kickers in a box for sale. not too sure about the exact specs on them. all i know is that they bump like CRAZY. especially in an fbody. as you can see in the picture, i stuck them in the back t-top well, and the bass bounced off of the back hatch, working perfectly. this box is made specifically for fbodies (i was told), and i believe it, because it fits right in there. i kept some tools and stuff underneath it also. looking to get 275ish+shipping. theyre actually not here in ohio with me, theyre back in philadelphia. http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL874/3556528/8433502/130393523.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/8/web/2048000-2048999/2048599_14_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/8/web/2048000-2048999/2048599_13_full.jpg any questions, email me at steveyd@gmail.com
  12. im trying to think about the cheapest place... it doesnt fluctuate much though. i think office depot or something is the cheapest (if they have those in ohio) i just got the ti-84 plus, so have an old ti-83 laying around somewhere. if you want it, i can probably get it for you in a week and a half.
  13. for a few years i smoked a pack or two a day... then i decided i needed to stop to save money. so i started rolling cigarettes (cheaper, slightly healthier, harder to chain smoke) but i started going through a pack of tobacco a day. from the day i moved back to the states to the day i went back to italy to visit (1 year later) i didnt smoke a single cig. from the day i got off the plane in italy to the day i flew back to the states, 2 packs a day. then for a year, i didnt smoke a single cig. working in a garage made me start though, and i have been at about a pack and a half each day. just recently i started rolling again... and it does help.
  14. yeah, i bought a hood and we couldnt find a box to ship it in... so i ended up just driving to pick it up.
  15. ok, i have a few things on my mind. i have like... 20 posts here, should that mean i cant get in if i make the drive some time? i dont think it should be something having to do with seniority, the reason i havent posted a lot is that i just moved to ohio, and college isnt giving me a lot of time to procrastinate on forums like i enjoyed so much during high school. then, i dont think its cool to weed out the slow cars. i dont have a 13 second timeslip, but i can show you how i ran a 15.2 stock, and have since been working as much as possible, and spending every last cent to make this POS remotely fast! i do agree about having the random, non-car enthusiasts parking in a different area, or not coming in at all. if they dont share the passion for cars, they wont be respectful towards other peoples' cars. smoking... i smoke, but as kohones mentioned, i carry a soda bottle for that reason, just in case there are no trash cans or ash trays. but IPS is amazing for letting people use their lot, so i know i wouldnt mind not smoking for a night (that night may just save me from cancer ) racing... how safe is it? do people ever get busted? im not one for street racing, i prefer keeping it at the track, but if its a back road where you dont see other cars, i guess thats cool. i would love to make it out sometime just to meet some "locals" even though it isnt too local, because i dont know anyone around who enjoys shooting the shit about cars. the only person who i know who could semi vouch for me would be dane... (ultracamaro or whatever his username is) just because im new to the state, and dont know people... does that mean i cant show up?
  16. dont do a 13 second timeslip ticket stub requirement... please. haha. its all about personal improvement, and my car has improved much since stock, doesnt that count for anything??
  17. ok, danes a homo who needs to cut his hair. im 5'10-5'11. most of my friends are taller than me, most of them are like 6'-6'4. two of my friends are 6'10... thats intimidating. (one of them plays for xavier, if anyone is into college basket ball)
  18. i need something for a 3" exhaust... thanks though.
  19. whats going on? get some pictures up, i love the new tibbys. i have a buddy with an 04, did the front 05+ conversion, and is rocking razzi back bumper and side skirts, its pretty pimp.
  20. can i get some pictures? and i also dont have any tools or anything here, so it would be nice if whoever i get tips from could help me out putting them on... if at all possible
  21. any follow up? pictures? other people with tips?
  22. haha, hey paul. yeah, its throwing a code now... im assuming (hoping) its just the EGR. and i posted a wanted ad, looking for exhaust tips. one of mine fell off on 76E going up to akron.
  23. could i get some pictures? (email is steveyd (at) gmail.com if that is easier.) exhaust is 3" also.
