  1. you've been in and out of this thread since its birth (failed abortion), which has been going on for months. so either you did the work months ago and he hasn't paid you yet, or you did work for him after he displayed his extreme level of arrogance. doesn't change the fact that he needs to pay up--
  2. Nasty. Time to throw a pulley on mine. Love the auto in these cars.
  3. So you're going to let this fucktard keep your harddrive? And you did 8 hours of work for him for free? I'd take one of the wheels off that intl truck he has out front of the shop as collateral.
  4. i work in a non-profit hospital. i see equal parts medicare, medicaid, private insurance, and even people with nothing at all. if the bill truly becomes a reality, and medicare payments are cut, i will have to ration all the lower paying plans and save room for better paying private insurance. not saying i won't take care of those in dire need---fractures, etc. but if you need an elective procedure, and i can fill the surgical time with a better plan--that's what's going to happen. it is what it is. plenty of practices have already stopped accepting medicare
  5. sure, i accept obamacare gov't insurance. from 12-12:30pm---and you can see my physician assistant. if you have a problem that warrants surgery, maybe you'll get a chance to talk to me. sorry, that's the way its going to be. sad, sad day for physicians
  6. i thought he was inferring that it's only as fast as a current model-year v6 mustang--which would have been clever. but he wasn't
  7. enjoy the car 'as is' for now?? maybe intake/exhaust as a maximum for now?
  8. you don't lose anything by trying the cortisone first. this is what i do for a living--not to be rude--but don't necessarily believe everything you read online. not everyone can be a doctor with just 5 minutes of web browsing. i've never seen a reparable labral tear--especially one where there was no trauma involved in someone your age. the pain you're experiencing could be coming from the tear itself--or all the inflammation in the hip resulting from the tear. calm the inflammation down, and the tear may not be symptomatic. cutting the torn piece out (which is 100% what will happen) will not prevent you from getting arthritis if the tear is large, and it won't re-grow the cartilage. i've seen my share of hip scopes where the patient ends up with a nerve palsy, or scuffed femoral head. the surgery is not without risks. lets see what the mri shows
  9. probably ken westerheide. he's a sports surgeon, and trained at the same fellowship in LA where my partner trained--and he does hip scopes occasionally. pretty difficult to make the diagnosis of a labral tear based on exam alone--x-rays won't show you anything. if i tore my labrum tomorrow, i'd be tempted to try a cortisone injection into the hip joint and some rehab. if the labrum is torn, it is likely irreparable--the scope simply removes the tissue so it doesn't get pinched inside the joint (kind of like having a rock in your shoe)---it may not alter the progression of arthritis in the hip joint. i'm assuming you had a traumatic injury to the hip, and are having tons of groin pain. if the mri shows a labral tear, let us know. there's more than 3 people in the state who scope hips, but maybe 5 surgeons in the state who can do it WELL.
  10. you'll be fine. wait and see what the mri shows before you get excited about any potential surgery. there are very few people i would trust to scope my hip. i'm sure scott has some connections to columbus surgeons--so do i. consult with either of us before you let someone stick a scope in your hip--lots of potential complications can occur from this procedure even if done perfectly.
  11. just saw these now that i'm home from work. must be keith's red lambo on the left. great looking cars.
  12. i'll get my second wind. still have 2 more hours of work to do.:dumb:
  13. surgeons make the best 'inventors' when it comes to modifying existing medical devices and improving them. they implant the devices, know how/why/when the devices fail, and the biology behind implanting foreign shit in the body. unfortunately, the gov't thinks we shouldn't get paid for our ideas. its unreal. i could go on, but simply don't have the time/effort to whine like a little bitch today.
  14. what am i doing wrong in life?? using your equipment. just kidding. tell john warren kirk says hi.
  15. i'll talk with my buddy. he's now a fishing nut. we went out tons of times with guides that he found on a florida sport fishing forum. these guys are guys that do it for a living---sometimes we use their equipment, sometimes we buy exactly what they recommend. i'd recommend joining a fishing forum, or using a captain when you go offshore. having more experienced people on the boat never helps
  16. wow, that's the weirdest looking kitchen i've ever seen.^^^
  17. meh, the coolest thing bmw has made recently is the commercial for their 6-series car. anyone name the movie this is out of?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yHTp8679MQ
  18. what company do you run/own? pics of the trans am?
  19. did someone say amberjack?? http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/8868/87584168.jpg
  20. you think its common to just randomly adopt a friend's baby with no lawyers involved??? seriously?? we're not talking about adopting a dog/cat. sometimes i honestly have to step away from the computer, splash cold water on my face, and come back just to be sure i'm not imagining the shit i read on this forum. as stated, the lawyer fees/process/wait/interviews/etc has its way of weeding out those who are 'most unfit' to adopt. some people still slip through, unfortunately. this is easily one of the worst ideas i've ever heard of. as stated kids cost an ungodly amount of money to raise. there's a saying that goes "there's never a good time to have a child"--if you're living in a rented house with your brother's ex, 3 kids, and random dudes coming over running trains on her, you should not bring a child into that environment. i realize you didn't ask for this kind of advice, but tough shit. if i can avoid wasting my tax dollars on additional government aid passed out to morons, then i will
  21. couldn't agree more. honestly, when i was in training--living month to month, no kids, no nice things, etc--i was happy. people who think money will solve all problems are completely wrong--d wiggs is living proof
  22. maybe he's measuring the shims for his transmission?? quick, someone check the chick-fil-a drivethru.
  23. i'm not bitching for myself. i practice in one of the best states for medicine, with the best reimbursement. the insurance companies have hospitals/dr's by the balls. no one in this economy/country will pay cash for medical services--just won't happen, aside from plastic surgery. even if i was able to tell someone, pay me $4k, and i'll replace your knee---the cost of the hospital stay could be $40k--they're not going to pay cash for that. if you have a small, one-man practice, the insurance companies will give you the shittiest rates ever---why?? because if you don't accept their plan, who cares?? they have many other dr's available to treat their customers. small, privately owned groups have little/no bargaining power against insurance companies. insurance companies demand patients leave the hospital sooner than they should, they deny physical therapy for patients, they hold on to payments for one month after the service is complete, and make billions off the profit of being able to withhold payments for just one month. no other system works this way. after going through 4 years of college, doing extremely well. 4 years of medical school, finishing in the upper 5-10% of that (in order to get into a very competitive field). 5 years of residency---working for what amounted to less than $10/hr. and a one year fellowship. i expect to be paid well, and enjoy some financial comfort. i'm 35 years old, 3 years into work, while my college buddies have been working for 15 years, earning towards retirement, etc. the job is stressful (again, not complaining). americans are in shitty, shitty health overall, but demand much, much more than they did just 10 years ago. the amount of information a physician has to master in order to be effective has increased exponentially in the past 10 years. keep in mind, when i say he 'could' make $8k, you have to figure his overhead could be 30-40%----that takes him down to $5k. then, uncle obama takes 27%----he's down to $3500 or so. surgeons usually operate 2 days a week--the other 3-4 days they are in office, and usually make minimal. consider this---a veterinarian makes roughly 2 times what i do, to do a hip replacement on your dog. its both 100% true, and 100% sad at the same time
  24. great intro. welcome to the site.
