make it with the lsa, MR suspention, make it look slightly better, and you'll get my attention

the payment system is based on medicare. medicare simply pays for a 'procedure'---not for how long it takes. i can do a knee replacement on a 120lb lady with moderate arthritis and it takes less than an hour. or i can do it on a 360lb person with a massive deformity on the leg, have to make twice the incision length, have to use custom metal components, and it takes 3 hours. i get paid the same amount. and that fee includes a pre-operative comprehensive office visit, and 3 months of follow-up visits. in a recent article that polled 500 people, they over-estimated the amount that surgeons were paid to do hip/knee replacements by a factor of 10. i'm only using this as an example because it is what i do. insurance companies typically pay a percentage of medicare fees. this varies from company to company, from state to state, and from hospital to hospital. some companies might pay 300% of medicare in one state and 95% in other states. some hospitals/private groups might be able to negotiate a great deal with an insurance company if they have leverage, and some smaller groups might get a shitty deal. the system is so fucked up, it totally favors the insurance companies, the hospitals, and malpractice lawyers---physicians get fucked in the end. so when obama's plan aims to cut medicare rates by 5% in 5 years, it will lower payments from insurance companies more, not just only for people with medicare. certainly, the case of the 100lb scrotum would most likely be incredibly complicated. the surgeon can use a 'modifier' to charge over the top of medicare rates if he has justification. sometimes by as much as 250-300%. it still is not going to be worthwhile for a surgeon to take on this case financially---i guarantee they will spend a whole operative day fixing this, and most likely have to take him back a few times once swelling has subsided/etc. and will most likely make less than $8k on the whole ordeal. the hospital charges CONSIDERABLY more because the fact he will be hospitalized for quite a while.

i can tell you the $1million dollar number is stupid and a gross over-exaggeration. surgeons have zero control over what they charge patients except in the case of cosmetic surgery---which this is NOT. it may seem like it, but they are removing, essentially, a tumor. which would be covered by normal insurance. i'm assuming this guy has no insurance, and not even on medicaid/medicare. he could apply for disability, get on medicare (quickly, too), and get the surgery for little cost to himself. anyone want to guess what the surgeon would ACTUALLY get paid for this?? i'll let a few people guess before i can tell you a 'ballpark' figure.

welcome to the site. i'm an equal opportunity offender/aggressor. you've certainly read the thread by our 'village idiot'. i wouldn't trust his 'future' shop to shovel the dog shit out of my backyard. but if i'm interested in buying one of these boosted exotics in the future from your shop (and i am, just not the immediate future), how can i be assured i'm not going to be given the 'hush order', or else my wife sees video of me doing body shots off a stripper's chest, if something goes wrong with the car?? i don't believe everything that's heard/seen on the internet, but the article DID make it to jalopnik. i also realize you can't make every customer happy everytime. welcome to the site

headers, blower pulley, throttle body, intake, big/little combo, tune, 150lbs weight loss, 4.10's pretty sure that's it
-
clean car brother. guy in my dorm room in college had one of these, looked exactly like yours. always wanted one welcome to the site

post some pics up. tell us a little more about yourself

i missed the part where he made the world a better place by his existence?? plenty of 'better' human beings have certainly passed on this day. r.i.p. to them.

there's nothing 'natural' about what you're describing. think of what happens to a wounded, old, or 'unfit' animal in the wild---it meets a quick end at the hands of a predator. that is what would be considered natural.
-
THIS. consult with the vet. go home, talk things over with friends/family, make a decision, and don't look back. its natural not to 'want' to let go of family members, even when their time has come.

amazing how gm could put such awesome seats in a 4 door sedan yet neglect the corvette with what could be best described as a 'slip and slide'.
-
dayton is a about an hour from columbus, so he's not exactly local. not bashing due to location---the site doesn't need deadbeats who will simply join, buy a car, and then disappear. much better selection of cars on websites designed to actually sell cars. seems stupid to join such a small site with maybe 1-2 cars that fit his description for sale at any given time

6speed wagon, black metallic paint, black wheels, painted calipers.

while i love my V, it doesn't take much at all for a 5.0 to roll out on a cts-v. not only that, but prepare to subtract about 10mpg from what you're gto gets. not a problem for me, but those who have to drive long distances will fill the 'baby' gas tank a couple times a week. V's are incredible though--best overall car i've driven. assuming that's what you're talking about
-
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Your point?
-
I can deal with 600rwhp and a full warranty
-
We need to hear that 2.2 scream. My '04 has only been gone a week and I miss it Welcome to the site

When you make two posts on a forum, and both of them state you're joining the site to buy a car, you're going to get questioned as to your motivations. If you have a problem with that, you can sit in the oven forever bitch. Negative rep sent
-
apparently, he thinks no one posting here can afford an exotic, or any car that would be taken to his exclusive shop?? or assuming no one here knows anyone with an exotic looking for shops to take the car to? or just an arrogant jackass? or the whole thread is some sort of inside joke, with a punchline yet to be delivered?
-
you state twice in your intro that the motivation to join this site is solely to purchase a mustang or f-body, correct?? piss off. search craigslist, autotrader, cars.com, etc. this is not a place to join for the sole purpose of buying a used piece of shit. edit-- just looked through the classified section here, and i see no f-bodies, or fox-bodies for sale at this time. i think its safe to move along and look elsewhere. if you're looking to join an actual car forum, shoot the shit, talk cars/girls/guns/and everything else awesome, then redo your fucking intro.
-
ok, then come back when you have your finished race car, and after the first couple exotic cars have been finished at your shop. you can get your run to 225mph on film and post it up here for everyone to see---that way the thread can be even more entertaining for you. we can even make a vendor section for your shop. your customers can join the forum and vouch for the fantastic work that was performed on their cars. pretty simple---sounds like your shop is opening soon, and if you're going to claim to be better than UGR, your turn-around time on completed cars should be comparable or better, right?? that means before the end of the summer finished cars should be pouring out of your shop, correct??
-
just quoted a few of the first posts in this thread for the lol's. guy makes all kinds of stink about racing, getting it on film, etc etc. and now he wants to bitch out. typical
-
lol at this guy. bench racing about going over 225mph, when he's probably never been over 160mph. ragging on someone for breaking a transmission with a 1500hp car when he's never driven anything close to that level---tell me i'm wrong?? "too many thin shims"? was that your assessment when you disassembled the transmission?? too weak to actually race side by side? how many races do you see won with a VBOX? :dumb: part of racing (or any competitive sport/activity) involves being able to perform when the pressure is on. not recording a 'hero' run on VBOX. guess you didn't learn that at tOSU. there are few things more irritating on an automotive forum than a 'poser' talking shit to people who 'walk the walk', and have actually accomplished more with their cars then you will ever. come back when you've actually accomplished something worthwhile. as far as your business goes, let the quality of the work do the talking (not your mouth). you might just want to start off with fitting cars with bigger wheels, stereo systems, and custom louis vuitton interiors :lolguy:

keep the warranty. its a brand new car. minimal mods. nothing worse than modding a brand new car and kissing your warranty goodbye. these cars are fairly fast without losing the warranty. drive the piss out of the car stock---sleep well at night knowing ford will be there for you if anything breaks. congrats
-
great intro, welcome to the site. hard to believe your car looks as clean as it does by some of the pics posted +rep
