    Garage repair??

I remember "helping" my dad replacing and re-tensioning one of these springs in a pinch when I was 16 years old or so. I did most of it with dad's "direction" because he was all doped on on pain meds from a dental surgery, so he was all mumbly and glazed over while guiding me. Needless to say it was terrifying, but I lived.
  2. It's not cheap, but these guys make some seriously good quality stuff: http://www.oakcreationsofmillersport.com/Furniture-Styles---Designs.html In my later years of highschool my parents bought a complete bedroom suit of their "mission" style oak furniture for me as a gift. I'm confident I will give it to my kids. If I recall they will customize to your tastes and dimensions as well.
  3. If you're looking for a good "value" Dodge, the mega cab may not be your best bet. They are awesome inside but they seem to pull a lot more money than the quad cabs. There were also a lot fewer of them made. I don't have a whole lot more to add, other than to dispute Dodge trans and front ends being junk. I've had very good luck with Dodge cummins trucks (dad's had 2 and I've got one myself).
  4. Slightly cheaper and equal if not superior quality are Nanuk cases. I use them to pack cameras and other electronics with me when I kayak. Some are waterproof and some are just padded and protective. May be another option. Depending on the size of the tools, an ammo can with customized pick and pluck padding could work too.
  5. Had this happen in goddamn groveport the other day. In my truck, some guy in a Silverado parked so close to me that our mirrors were interlocking on my drivers side. Basically I couldn't back out without ripping his and my mirror off, and forget opening my door. Got in through the passenger side angry, folded my mirror forward (glad they do this) and had to pull up onto the parking curb first before I was even able to backout at a slight angle. I considered letting the air out of the guys tires but figured karma might get him eventually anyway. I have a friend who keeps a Schrader core puller in his glove box for just such occasions and THAT is a dick move. I see no harm in OPs story.

  7. The gf is still being told they are "waiting on parts" for her 07 cobalt ignition repair.... She first called to schedule the repair in April.
  8. Didn't rolla (ridenred27) have one of these he was modding? I think he may have had 2 even. If I recall, the popular performance swap was the 4 cylinder out of the mercury capri convertibles. He used to talk them up a lot in terms of power to weight, handling etc.
  9. Strange timing for this thread, actually. I'm likely meeting a Liebert startup tech at the new Riverside Hospital Tower this Thursday or Friday. Will any of you guys in this thread happen to be him? Should be for a pair of CRAC units.
  10. As for resale, diesels come pretty close to holding their value. Dad traded his 2010 ram 2500 in with 100k on it and trade in value was 7k over what he owed on it.... Just stirring the pot really, my buddy just bought a used limited Tundra in all black with the orange/tan leather and its very nice.
  11. So the car is apparently back together after the accident a while back? I may have missed it.
  12. Sonata as shown above for sure
  13. I added factory fog lights to my truck using the mopar kit, which includes a factory fog light switch, harness, etc. The ecm needs the fog light option "enabled" for them to work, and every dealer wants their $90 minimum for what is a 5 minute job. I figured I would ask here first before I just cough it up. I can bring the truck wherever and make it worth your time. Thanks
  14. Not sure on whether they handle warranty or not, but call Rushman and see. They did reasonably priced good work for me.
  15. How late does this generally go? I'm debating on coming out, GF is busy tonight.
  16. Sounds like it's slightly 2-stroke lolololol
  17. If the ecoboost is out of his price range, those definitely are.
  18. I would not immediately jump to a modified diesel, at least not a very modified diesel for the sake of towing reliability, and you can get in a solid older diesel on a budget. Older 5.9 Cummins Dodges and 7.3 Powerstroke Ford trucks are very reliable and pretty simple to maintain. Good mileage can be had from both as well. As such, they hold their value well, but are still a relative value.
  19. You need to determine the empty weight of your horse trailer first of all. If its less than 7 or 8k loaded with horse and gear you should be fine with any 1/2 ton gas truck. Closer you get to 10k the more I would lean toward a 2500, either gas or diesel. What people often forget is that a 2500 chassis is not just more pulling power via motor, but stronger frame, bigger springs/ more robust suspension, and most importantly larger and better brakes. Stopping the load is as important if not more important than dragging it. I'm not a big proponent of gas 2500 DDs though, because as a DD you're then dragging around all that stronger HEAVY duty chassis which uses more fuel when unloaded. A lot of 1/2 ton trucks can be optioned to tow 10k now, but its not a real comfortable experience at that capacity.
  20. There are several mirror products similar to this one: http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Accessories/CIPA/CM11955.html?feed=npn&gclid=CKjj9uTb1L0CFexcMgod0TsArw And then also this hokey thing: http://www.easytrailerhitchguide.com/
  21. The exact same 60w cree bulb is available in a "daylight" color temperature also which is the bright white you're referring to. It does not have the "blue" tint that a lot of fluorescents do however.
  22. I can't get over the warm up time and color temperature of cfl bulbs. Even the more expensive instant on CFLs start at half brightness or so.
  23. Yep, I'll stick with my baby tune for a while lol.
