Lots of people buzzing about Urban possibly being in town now. Not sure why he'd be eating with Kirk though. Kirk doesn't live in Columbus anymore and I believe Kirk and the Gameday people are doing SMU/Houston this week. Urban is supposed to be doing the Michigan-Nebraska game this week in Ann Arbor. Rumor this morning was that Urban is at Earle Bruce's house. Urban coached under Bruce and really, really, really loves the guy. BTW for those who didn't know, Urban's father Bud passed away last week. Bud was a huge OSU fan, lived down near Cincy (Urban played at Cincy), etc. Father dies, Urban comes into town to talk about his future with a father figure, Bruce... who knows.

Is that real speculation or trololololol speculation?

Sully wasn't a great defender last year either. He got backed down and scored on pretty regularly. See giant white dude on Kentucky's team last year who had the game of his life against OSU in the tourney. It's just that he can give it right back just as well and usually better on the offensive end.

Just to shed some light on this stuff from a pure numbers perspective the players have already given up right around $300 million a year in negotiations to try and please the owners. That's how far they've come down. And the owners still want more.

You can tell for both teams that it's just really, really early in the season. Lots of kinks being worked out for both. But OSU pulled away and pulled it out. Feel like there needs to be more called plays/more of an effort to get Sully the ball. Not sure he touched it more than once or twice the first 5 minutes or so of the game which is ridiculous.

Big games tonight including #3 OSU vs. #8 Florida. Florida is really small this year but they've got some really nice perimeter players. Sully should go off but going to need Buford to chip in a lot too. In pretty much all of OSU's losses last year you'd only get a huge game from one or the other. Will be interesting to see the defense go up against a high powered offense for the first time without Lighty since like 1992...lol.

Auburn is in the SEC West. They played Tennessee in the SEC title game the year they went undefeated. Florida and Bama were relatively mediocre SEC teams at that point in time.

This Oregon team probably isn't as good as their team last year and the team that they had last year that played in the national title game, IMO, wasn't as good as the team OSU faced in the Rose Bowl. If Oregon had Blount or even just Masoli against Auburn last year they win that game.

Something that makes Oregon's players look so fast is how small they are. James and DeAnthony Thomas are both 5'9" or shorter and 185lbs. or lighter (Thomas probably closer to 170ish). Those little dudes have to move their legs to have any speed. It's not like watching Pryor glide. It's like watching a pomeranian trying to keep up with its owner on a walk.

I don't really see Wisconsin losing again. Either way, OSU is a lot further from making it to that game than they were before today.

Well, OSU was favored to win. The best part was them rushing the field after beating a 6-4 team. At least this means no B1G title game standing in the way of announcing Urban at halftime of the Duke basketball game. :gabe:

Been watching MSU-UNC a bit. Pretty cool being on the air craft carrier. I'll have the OSU game on my 2nd TV as I play some MW3 probably.

nevada (as much as you don't trust his information lol) has had this pretty well pegged for a while now. Said they might throw the FTM charge on, no meaningful scholarship reductions (2-3 per year - so this 5 total over 3 years is actually less), no bowl ban, etc. There are several options regarding the Dec. 10 date. Here's a timeline summary of what will probably happen from a lawyer who has worked with the NCAA before... Since there may be no hearing what would happen is OSU and the NCAA could just have a teleconference before that Dec. 10 date and finalize everything.
