Not really ironic. Which roles do you think fit us the best?
-
I agree with Scott 100%. It's a perfect event for a new driver and great fun for drivers and spectators. Here was my report on the one they hosted last month: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117902 No one need worry about being the slowest on the track because this weekend I'm running the Viewt.

So, you're looking for a fight?

I'm surprised you said this, Scott. As much as I joke with Miata owners, I don't believe I've ever met one who wasn't a really great guy. I admit that I don't know of any of the older crowd (the straw hats) who drive them, but the ones I've met have all been friendly and very enthusiastic about driving. And I can think of at least thirty or more Miata owners I know well. Vitamincj: great pick-up and I bet you'll enjoy it more than you would have enjoyed a Cobra.

Great intro. Nice collection of vehicles. I hope you get the chance to follow through with your plans to come to some autocross and CR track days. Welcome!

I couldn't have formulated this idea any better. I've always felt yours was the best looking one I've seen ... now it's one of the fastest around, too. I understand that dealers are discounting new 2014 stock down to 21k. It's a great opportunity for someone to pick one up and use it as a base to build his personalized supercar, as you have did. Well done!

With better weather tonight than last, I suspect we'll see more folks out tonight. I'll have to see if I can get one of the old clunkers to fire-up. Hope to see you there! http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/emoticons/party0024.gif

Well, let's hope for both of your sakes that that doesn't happen .... Welcome, Josh. You seem to be a solid guy, despite your association with Crossle.

I'm sorry to hear this happened. I don't think you would need to repaint the whole car just because you don't have a paint code. I believe a paint/body shop can use a precision instrument (I don't know the name) that can "read" the color of your paint and specify the recipe for the new paint. Disclaimer: no expert here ..... check with a few shops Kevin Clifford is a sponsor here and I take all my paint and body work to him. His work is the best around but priced below competitors.

Don't tell me you've forgotten 1967 already ......

Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair :marc: Best of luck, Bill!

Mark, at Dent Mender, http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/member.php?u=7205 is a sponsor here and has an excellent eye for any dent or damage. He's done work on a half dozen of my cars and I can't speak highly enough of him. I hope you find your car wasn't damaged, but if it was, Mark can make it like new again.

I think I'll wait and import the RHD version.

Today I went for the first time to Derek's new store, Best-One Tire & Service on Groveport Road right off of I-270. He got me a great price on a set of 225/60R16 98V Cooper Ultra Tours. The process couldn't have gone smoother. Thanks, as always, Derek!

Very nice build, one of the cleanest I've seen. I think you'll be pleased with the transformation it brings to the whole driving experience of the car. As it sits, yours is still the most tastefully-modded BRZ/FRS I've seen. I'm torn on the idea of your new wheel plans, so I'm anxious to see how the wheels look on your car.

The JDM world welcomes you, Scott.

http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117807 Great car at a great price. This will draw a crowd and would be a blast to drive.

Bring A Trailer often has old, good condition (but not mint), odd cars, some convertibles, that would be fun for runs to the beach and which are in the 5-10k range. 60's Saab wagons, triumph roadsters, VW The Thing, Bronco's, El Camino's all come to mind.

1988 Toyota Soarer Gray/Silver on Black, 5 speed RARE!

Norm & Ryan: if you pay Patrick's asking price for the car, I'll store it at the Hangout for you at no charge until you're ready to pick it up. I think it will look right at home there. -
I've owned Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota trucks, although I admit my Ford/Chevy/Dodge trucks were all before 2000. I bought a new 2008 Toyota Tundra because I wanted the most dependable truck I could get, planned on doing some medium towing (never did), and was tired of taking huge depreciation hits. Fall of 2008 was a really tough time for truck dealers, and I got 5k off sticker. Some high end Fords were discounted 25k back then. I kept the truck 3 years and never had a problem or issue. My retirement plans changed and I had very little use for the truck, so I offered it for sale, at only slightly less than my purchase price. It sold within hours, with no advertising. My post on CR produced many PM's, but the truck had sold by the time I opened them. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97606&highlight=tundra The extra 10-15k in my pocket more than made up for any bruise to my masculinity for driving a Toyota truck. :dumb: I wouldn't hesitate to get another Tundra. I love the 1794 edition.

That's a good location. I remember meeting there a few times 2-3 years ago, although IIRC the parking lot lights were off those nights. I think you'd have fewer street racers there, as it's too tight for trailers when the lot fills. I think it'd be a great spot with the lights on (fewer illegal activities). Police and OHP keep a close watch along there. Steak & Shake open 24 hrs. right behind. If you decide to try it, Austin, I'd be sure there is at least one trash can handy. Are there parking lot cameras?

Don't be silly. Obviously the photo was taken in Australia.

http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/emoticons/confused0006.gif Hmmmm. I may have to reconsider this for now. Last night I went from Quaker (good group of cars, but shut down after 9), to Best Buy, to Circuit City, to Home Depot, to Sonic, and then to Lowes. They had anywhere from zero to 25 cars. Had there been more cars, I feel certain they would have been shut down (HD actually was, as you read above). Today had Cars & Coffee, autocross in Circleville, the Ohio Mile, and Timmayfest -- plenty of car events to enjoy. I'm wondering if those of us who go to these things need to think a little more broadly about what we'd like to see in a night meet--what it is that we really enjoy about them--and then make it what we want rather than letting the ricer element make the decisions. CR doesn't endorse or host any of these and I don't see any reason they should. I'm well aware it's been debated numerous times before. I just feel that it might be worth thinking more unconventionally and deliberately about what we want and need that we don't already have with our daytime events. I have no proposals in mind and don't really want to moderate the debate. I'm just throwing out an observation. I haven't even made up my own mind about it yet. But I'm interested in any new ideas people have.

Looks like it will be the HD.

No cars at Best Buy Polaris, but about ten cars at Sawmill Circuit City. If it doesn't pick up here, I'll check Home Depot.
