Quaker Steak is hopping right now, but where have people been meeting later? Has circuit city been retried?
  2. Sorry, the bank declined my offer on the property, so there's no need for any staff currently. However, I am still looking at possibly buying a home closer to Columbus that could accomodate meets and if I do that, then I would close the Hangout. Thread can be locked. Thanks for the interest. I was surprised at how many calls/texts I received.
  3. One of the most eye-catching and admired cars at any local car event I've attended. I hate to see you part with it, Eric, but someone's going to get instant prestige and performance at a bargain price. Hell, this is the price of a stock BRZ. GLWS
  4. That is the sharpest SUV/family hauler I've seen in a long time. Great snag, and props to Jordan for his hard work in finding what you wanted.
  5. It's always because of trash of one sort or another ..... last night's ejection had to do with "litter and noise complaints."
  6. Welcome. Between Clay and Carl, no one suggested you post any pics? Ban them both and keep this guy.
  7. There was a very clean Marauder there yesterday, and the owner knew how to drive it. I was impressed. There was also an older Benz, perhaps an E class, running pretty hard. Your G8 would do fine.
  8. Yeah, the classing was funny. To their credit, they showed us the groupings and asked if anyone had any objections. Aaron is always a trophy winner, but they put him in the slow group. I was a novice and they put me with the AWD cars including Jones. :dumb:
  9. That was a great rivalry between you and Jones. Very fun to watch. Eman took the pics for me. My only instructions to him were, "Get plenty of my car." Sorry he didn't take shots of many cars, but you're right, your car was so fast it would have taken a special camera to capture the image.
  10. CR guys finally talked me into trying autocross today at Columbus Motor Speedway. The United Ford Owners (UFO) group did a really great job of putting on a relaxed, fun, well-organized event. Fifteen bucks, they provide the track workers, free cold beverages, plus trophies. Everyone got 5-6 runs. The track was straightforward and easy to learn. I don't see how it could get easier to learn autocross. As it ended up, CR members took all but one or two of the dozen or so trophies and provided the most entertaining runs, including a WOT 360-degree spin-in-the-dust recovery maneuver. Many thanks to all the CR members who were helpful today and especially to Scott Cordell who coached me through the whole process and rode shotgun on my runs. Events are a lot more fun when you do them with a big group of friends. 11. Five posts up from yours.
  12. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-c1-3d-printing-prosthetics-20140425-m-story.html#page=1 3D printer + $100 in parts = prosthetic arm (that really works) Usually you think 10k-20k for a prosthetic arm. Eyewriter, Brainwriter, 3D printer ...... the mind boggles.
  13. Seems like a decent night for the patio at QSL. Usually, the Driven With Purpose group does a nice Cruise-In around 7:30 or so. Feel free to stop by the table. Mebbe Sawmill later. Carpe diem.
  14. Is it legal to drive on the wrong side of the road like that? might as well get that absurd question out of the way first
  15. BUMP Just so fewer people will say, "Oh, was that Saturday? I didn't read anything about it and forgot." :dumb: It looks as though the rain will move out, but it will still be a bit chilly.
  16. Yeah, I distributed 500 for this event, most of them 1 or 2 at a time. It seems like a lot of effort for the little money, but I enjoy the event and don't mind helping promote it. It also forces me at meets to walk up to people whom I usually wouldn't engage in conversation, ask if they'd like a coupon, perhaps make a new friend. Will do, Jordan. I appreciate it. The next one is September 28 at National Trail.
  17. Okay, Clarkson, since you're that jaded, have you considered a Brabus E V-12? I believe it comes in a 4-door sedan, although for that kind of money, I'd have the droptop and always drive with the top open so that everyone could see who owned this car. :fuckyeah: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2010-brabus-mercedes-benz-e-v12_zps43c93a41.jpg 800 hp, 230 mph top speed Used Brabus Maybach? http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77229&highlight=brabus you could always have the wood refinished in piano black
  18. Many thanks to the 36 folks who redeemed your "CR special" IFO discount coupons at the spring event. The proceeds have been donated to the CR general fund. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/springifocheck_zps99215ffc.jpg Special thanks to the vendors who allowed me to place flyers at your sales counters: WheelMedic, Austin (Advance Auto Parts), Slowmotion Motorsports
  19. I don't know your career field, Cody, but repayment of certain types of student loans is a perk for certain jobs. For example, at least a third of the physician jobs I see advertised in Ohio have federal loan repayment as an added benefit. Typically, it's up to 15k/year of loan forgiveness in addition to salary and benefits. You might want to check out your possibilities before transferring any government (federal/state) loans over into more conventional loans because those conventional loans won't qualify for forgiveness as far as I know.
  20. Have you test driven a Tesla S P85? I was very impressed when I did. It's one of the few cars on my dream list, and I think it fulfills every requirement you listed.
  21. Model introduction, well done sir. I hope you can make it out to many CR events. +rep
