  1. Does anyone want to caravan to this from the eastside? I would be passing through there around 7 p.m.

  3. Don't be silly. Come in for free with anyone racing.
  4. Depends on the weather. I'd say getting there by 7 would assure you a good spot .... maximum musclecar traffic by maybe 9 or so.
  5. IMHO, yes, black is a lot harder color to keep looking good, with silver as the easiest. White is a forgiving color, too. A detailer I know says that for a car, black isn't even a color -- it's a part-time job. In normal use, I find that my black cars will look clean for about an hour before the dust has accumulated to the point that they begin looking dirty again. Dusting definitely helps with black cars, whereas my lighter cars nearly never need dusting to look good. Good paint correction polishing plus 22PLE sealant have helped enormously with keeping swirls to a minimum and making weekly washes easier. I won't have a dark color car without correction+sealant. 6. I'm not sure I'd say that http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/wholeleftside.jpg The Gathering: http://www.corvettesoflancaster.com/alliance/ Arthritis Foundation car show: http://www.arthritisautoshow.com/ Busch Blvd is a favorite area for spectators to gather to watch the muscle cars from GoodGuys cruise and do burnouts.
  7. I'm selling the Toy Carrier motorcycle trailer I purchased new in June 2006. This has a galvanized steel frame with a polymer shell, is aerodynamic, and weighs only 760 lbs. With a GVWR of 2193 lbs, it will carry 1400 lbs of bike and gear and will accommodate a full-dress Harley or Goldwing. It can be pulled by a car easily and doesn't require trailer brakes. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/motorcycle%20trailer/Dscn1114_zpsdff3d1db.jpg Ground clearance is 11", it has aluminum rims with 13" radial tires (ST175/80R13), stainless steel center caps, and a 2200 lb dextor ez-lube axle. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/motorcycle%20trailer/DSCN1111_zps753ed06c.jpg It uses an EZ-Open scissor lift system http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/motorcycle%20trailer/Dscn1127_zpsba2d5d01.jpg has aluminum checker plate floor with a 5' steel loading ramp and left and right foot ramps made of heavy plastic. All the ramps lock in place for loading and also fasten tightly to the inside walls during transport. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/motorcycle%20trailer/Dscn1122_zps9fea4e5c.jpg Overall length is 178", width is 68.5", height is 81". It has sealed LED lights, a swivel wheel jack, 2" hitch ball required. It has a Bike Pro drive-in quick release mount--you just drive the bike into the trailer, the front wheel locks in the chock, and you step off the bike which is then held in place. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/motorcycle%20trailer/DSCN1129_zpsfef65209.jpg There are also six floor rings for tie-downs for added security. I will include quality tie-down straps, canyon dancer bar harness, and recessed lug socket and wrench. There are two side latches which lock with a key. There are two front and one rear adjustable floor vents and well as two ceiling vents to keep the compartment cool on long summer hauls. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/motorcycle%20trailer/DSCN1120_zpseceb9486.jpg I chose this trailer because I wanted something enclosed but super light and which I could move unassisted, and load and unload the bike solo as well. It's fantastic for that, and I can open the shell and move the loaded trailer with one hand. It's waterproof and lockable. This was used only four times in eight years and has approximately 5000 miles on it. It's been in indoor storage the rest of the time. The bearings were recently repacked and it's ready to go cross country without worry. The only bad is that since I used it in the winter to take the Ducati to South Carolina, the metal accessories/chains on the tongue got coated with road salt and have some surface rust or pitting. All of these are readily available at farm supply stores if it bothers you enough to replace them. (see closeups in photo bucket) Original purchase price with upgrades = $3500 Current retail with upgrades = $4200 CR price = $2200 Next week it will go to eBay with a reserve of $2500. 8. I wouldn't call the guys trying to race out the theater lane Hooligans; it looked more to me like men my age starting to go through their second childhoods. Mebbe some bitter burnouts because people hadn't paid enough attention to their 1968 Oldsmobile 10-footer with mags. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/emoticons/ChainGun-1.gif
  9. For the most part, yeah, not much in the way of excessive noise/burnouts. There is still some driving in the lot that's way too fast. But on that account, Cars & Coffee had some wreckless driving and a bunch of super-loud exits yesterday, mostly by the old school muscle cars. :burn: I would be surprised if it didn't cause complaints from the parents arriving with their kids to see the children's matinee at Lennox. Strange how the two events are becoming more like each other.
  10. We saw you come in the lot. Chandler, Adam, Jones and I parked together. Not sure how you missed the blue BRZ and blue FRS parked next to each other, but sorry you didn't see us.
  11. nothing like a sammich or the salad bar, sitting on the patio just as the day winds down ........
  12. I know Paul had a dinner thread for early this evening, but I wanted to eat later and then go over to the Sonic/Dick's Sporting Goods meet at 10. I'm planning on going to Jason's Deli on Gemini at 9:00, eating on the patio, then heading over to Sonic later. Anyone is welcome to join me. Be safe!
  13. I've dealt with Vic, the owner, at this place for over 30 years: http://www.minervaparkfurniture.com/ I see he's relocating to Sunbury, which is good because his old place in Minerva Park always looked sketchy, although he is actually quite honest and friendly. He has some very high quality used furniture, but mostly orders new furniture which you pick from catalogues. Most of the bedroom sets he sells are solid wood, although you can see from his online catalogue that he has other types as well. I agree with Trish above that most stuff now is trash after a few years. What Vic sells is not the throwaway type that you see most places. It's pricey, but he discounts heavily. I've purchased Maitland-Smith and Drexel Heritage, used, from Vic.
  14. For those not grilling out tonight, Quaker Steak is open and hosting the Friday Night Cruise-In. Usually the car folks begin arriving 7:00-7:30, so I'm planning to get a table out on the patio around 6-6:30. You're welcome to join me, then the plan will be to hit the Polaris meet around 9:30 or 10 (between Sonic and Dick's Sporting Goods). 60-70 degrees but windy this evening, so bring a sweatshirt for the GF -- a clean sweatshirt, to show her how much you care.
  15. It was good meeting you last week, John. Welcome to CR. Great bike!
  16. Normally, I would try to post some acerbic criticism of Farkas. In this case, however, I have to admit that the article's recognition and praise of his vision and effort are well-deserved. His quotes are characteristically modest. His reminiscences of his brother and him growing up learning the love and care of cars at their father's side are so well-told. It should be something to think about for us with young ones around us. I know his friends and family are proud of him and CR should be, too. Good job, Andy. Hats off to the "old man" too!
  17. 1-Had a great time 2-Introduced two new drivers to UFO autocross 3-Wasn't the slowest 4-Shaved 8 secs off my time from run 1 to run 4 http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/June%20UFO%20autocross%20Viewt/Dscn1104_zps4c85ef22.jpg Good to see everyone
  18. Looks dry so far ..... everyone still willing to go out and see if we can get some runs before the rain this afternoon?
  19. Sorry to hear, Aaron. I hope they mend faster than expected. There have been so many bikes on the roads these last few weeks .... so many chances for things to go wrong .... how quickly we dismiss that death looms closely for motorcycle riders. With little consideration we convince ourselves of the myth that our skills and equipment will save us from disaster, which too often results from nothing more than bad luck or from other people's poor decisions.
  20. Great shots, Patrick. The only thing I'd change is to make the plate on the Soarer photo full color with the rest of the shot in grayscale .... you know......make the plate really POP.
  21. They are kewl with everything that isn't a clear hazard. Your bolts will be fine. These guys are very laid-back.
