  1. Maybe PM the pro's on here, such as Aesthetic Influx, pdqgp, Lucky Lola, Kevin Clifford?
  2. Keep in mind, this is a Rolls-Royce. Bentley and Rolls are different cars built in different places with different corporate owners. Bentley is owned by VW and is build in Crewe. Rolls is owned by BMW and is built in Goodwood. It wouldn't surprise me if Bentley, BMW, Mercedes and other high lines adopt the technology in the next few years, as Mallard said above.
  3. It must be something we absolutely need and want, since it's being introduced on the new Rolls-Royce Wraith. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115737-highRes_jpg_677x1000_q100_zps3390a8f6.jpg I want to punch this guy, but he tries to explain the advantage of driving the Nurburgring in a Roller: Essentially, a computer looks at the upcoming terrain via GPS, then looks at speed and other engine parameters, compares your current and long-term driving style, and figures out what gear to switch the 8 speed ZF transmission to as you enter the terrain. The Wraith’s V-12 makes 624 hp getting it to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds. 590 pound-feet of torque is said to all be available from just 1500 rpm. From certain angles, it looks a lot more like a Bentley Continental SC than a Rolls. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115739-highRes_jpg_900x900_q100_zps21ecbf33.jpg It's a departure for Rolls, emphasizing driving the car rather than riding in it. However, it's not exactly a stripped-down interior. Premium leather and wood, http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115728-highRes_jpg_900x900_q100_zpse55da204.jpg although the wood is something different for Rolls as well. Rather than the traditional polished veneers, they've used Canadel Panelling with an open pore wood finish, which allows you to feel the grain of the wood http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115730-highRes_jpg_900x900_q100_zpsaee457b9.jpg Even the rear seats (which you need to crawl into with the front seatbacks tilted forward) look pretty luxurious http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115732-highRes_jpg_900x900_q100_zps38b63af0.jpg Many of the Phantom's upmarket features are included, such as the "Starlight Headliner, a Bespoke feature available beyond Phantom family cars for the first time. 1,340 fibre optic lamps are hand-woven into the roof lining to give the impression of a glittering, starry night sky." http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115735-highRes_jpg_900x900_q100_zpscb0b36fa.jpg and of course, coach doors (suicide doors to us commoners) http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/P90115734-highRes_jpg_900x900_q100_zpsb087ae49.jpg I think their promo video is a complete fail. I guess the Wraith is for waxy men who aren't attracted to rich, beautiful women. Or maybe for vampires, I wasn't sure. Link to the Winding Road review, press release, photo gallery and multiple videos: http://www.windingroad.com/articles/reviews/review-rolls-royce-wraith/ Enjoy!
  4. I have to admit it, I was puzzled when I read that phrase. What does it conjure up in your mind?
  5. Those are some fantastic photos, BW.
  6. Nothing too unusual for North Korea. The tiniest dogs often do the most yapping. It wouldn't be too big an adjustment for that country if they were "bombed back into the Stoneage."
  7. I just drove back to Delaware from Circleville without issue, although I can see that once Columbus morning traffic hits the roads, it will become the expected clusterf ......
  8. You and Robert Crumb http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/944_Robert-Crumb-Exhibit948047_zpsed4a73b8.jpg
  9. Add cupholder to accomodate 64 oz. drinkcup, tray to hold large pizza box, and I would see no need to ever stand again.
  10. I think this is what you were looking for: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1671624&postcount=52
  11. Very sharp car -- looks like a Toy Barn purchase. Welcome to CR. I hope you get to make it to some of our events and track days. Good intro. + rep
  12. To borrow a phrase from another sport: You don't stop racing because you get old, You get old because you stop racing. :zoom: .
  13. Thankfully you're all safe. I'd just throw away the scivvies rather than trying to get that stain out.
  14. I'm happy to see that the project is now funded. Thanks for the tip, Mike.
  15. Perhaps too sentimental for some, but I really liked the video, which I pass on from Hagerty Classic Car News:
  16. You guys would be excellent at doing just that. If you can lure Crossle into the venture, I'll be your sugardaddy and chief promoter.
  17. You mean this thread? http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109026
  18. I'll phone both Mark and David when they open at 8 a.m. and ask them to give you my discount.
  19. If you don't find other options, I'm sure MD Transmissions will do it for you if I ask them to. Just let me know so that I can phone them in advance of you calling them.
  20. So true. After all, what's life without risk? What harm could possibly befall you on a little tourist excursion through the "Graveyard of the Atlantic" after that comprehensive two hours' worth of instruction? http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/coconutradio_zpsc028269c.jpg
  21. All CR members and their guests are welcome. I'll have it unlocked at 8:30 and it should be all warmed up by 9.
  22. Well, you've got the minimum number needed to open the Hangout .... what time do you want it open? Post it to the title of the thread so I know what time to unlock the place.
  23. Very clean for the age and miles. You've clearly taken good care of it. It'll be a bargain for someone needing a good minivan. GLWS
  24. Let me know if you're wanting the Hangout open later. I might come out for the eats, too, depending on where people choose.
