My advisory committee a few years ago made the recommendation I switch away from vendor neutral certs and move toward vendor specific certs. While my class more closely aligned with the NET+, now I am specifically a CCNA program. Currently I am certified to teach the CCENT, and will finish the training to teach CCNA next summer. I am in agreement that if I were you I would jump straight to the CCNA unless there is a reason not to. The Comptia certs used to have the advantage they would not expire. Now I believe they need to be renewed every 3 years.

I'm going to do ours just because I'm tired of driving vehicles with rust holes. She found a garage queen that never was driven in snow. Mine was a one owner low miles truck that spent it's entire life in Phoenix. Our cars sit outside all the time, and the rust hits them pretty bad. I don't see either of us trading our trucks off any time soon. I'll probably keep mine as long as I'm trailering cars to the track. This Avalanche is the nicest most expensive car I've bought, I plan on keeping it a while.

I've been looking at doing both my new truck and my wife's truck at Ziebart. They were recommended to me by our auto collision instructor who has had to work on cars they rust proofed. Neither of the trucks are new, but they are unicorns here in the midwest with no rust. I'm planning on hitting up Ziebart this friday for a quote on both trucks.

What size is the plate? How much do you need taken off?

So it results in the rest of us paying more to make up the difference? That's the kind of thing I'm asking about. Most legislation has unintended consequences.

I keep hearing all sorts of things about the upcoming Issue 2. Who are the medical professionals on here that could explain what Issue 2 is and why the medical community seems against it?

I ban them as a safety hazard. That guy is going to get killed. When a fast car gets loose and crosses the line he's going to take a bumper to the tailpipe at a closure rate of 100+ mph. All the guy would have to do is play some staging games and his opponent will over heat. 12 seconds on the starting line would create some real problems for a competitor.

I appreciate all the compliments. Saturday was a day I won't soon forget. I'm assuming it took about a month off my life span. I am counting the show as a success, and by success I mean it didn't turn into a complete shit-show. Cars showed up and got registered, cars got judged, and trophies got handed out (sometimes to the wrong people). I still have a winner I need to contact and make sure he got his trophy. We made money and most everyone seemed to have a good time. Overall the show was a success financially despite the issues we ran into. The car show itself I believe brought in roughly $1200. That does not include raffle, 50/50, food or craft show receipts. My best guess on the all included total is around $5000 profit for everything. We got lucky on a large number of things. First off the weather was giving me more gray hair than I already had. Luckily it turned out great. I did give the DJ a little crap for his company name Hurricane Entertainment, and wind issues we had. Originally I had set a goal of 150 cars, and honestly I'm glad we didn't get that many. I'm not sure the show would have held together with that many and it might have turned into the shit-show I mentioned earlier. We're going to make plans for 150-200 cars next year, but now that I have one under my belt I feel I can put together a team that can handle a crowd that size. One of the most obvious issues was the wind blew over our best in show trophy and broke it. That's on my list this coming weekend to fix. I'll have to create some new pieces to make it all match. This time they will be made out of hard wood instead of particle board. The final winners report looks something like this. Vintage TruckMake: AnyModel: AnyYear Start: 1890Year End: 1979Num. For those of you that missed it, I'll make sure we post up the date once it's chosen for next year. This year CR had the best support of any club with 5 entries. I'd like to see us continue that next year. If anyone has any feedback for me, please feel free to post it here or in PMs. We've already started the debriefing process internally, but more feedback is always welcome. Things we're looking at are, registration, judging, awards, food, raffle and 50/50, marketing, traffic and parking, sponsorship, etc.... I'll have a much bigger team next year so we can divide the load and be better ready to handle issues that pop up. Thanks again everyone.

For lighting options you might look into LED light strips. They make waterproof versions. I've been thinking about doing some of this in my basement and also inside the race trailer. http://www.instructables.com/id/Inexpensive-Garage-Lights-From-LED-Strips/ I have some of the strips at the house if you want to take a closer look.

Yeah, I think I can make that happen. I'll put some orange cones in some spots all together. Figure 10 spots ought to do it? I'll figure out a way to tag them CR.

Sorry to hear that man. I've been there, it's a tough one to deal with.

That address is correct. We're out in the middle of a cow pasture. We are directly on 42 a few miles south of Plain City. Look for the green roof.

It's for a good cause. All the money will go to the student clubs to help pay for kids to go to competitions. Last year, Business Professionals of America spent $500 to send our main campus kids to state competition. For nationals, the registration cost alone is $125. The school absolutely helps out with some of the registration and travel expenses, but not all of them. BTW I noticed a problem with the classes. I have added a class for cars from the 2000's. I had an entry that did not fit any of the existing classes, so I had to correct that by making a new class. I had to get creative with the trophy as well.

We've got your registration and payment, thank you. You can either print your dash card on that site, or we can print it for you at the registration table tomorrow morning (any time after 9:00). The plan is for judging to start at 11:00. I told my students what you were bringing out and a couple of them their eyes got really big. That one will be a hit I'm sure.

I'm crossing my fingers for 150 cars, but that's going to depend on the weather. That's been my goal for the show since we started. If you make it out that would be great, but northern Mich sounds like a nice road trip too. I'd be torn between the Viewt and the Century, but the Slingshot and the Bentley would probably draw more attention and are a bit more flashy. The way you keep your cars I would guess that any of them would be contenders for a trophy.

Trophies are done. Participation plaques are almost ready as well. We should have 80 of them ready, so the first 80 cars through the gate will get a commemorative plaque. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=590&pictureid=8911 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=590&pictureid=8910

I appreciate the support. Not many people are pre-registering. We'll have 4 registration stations going that morning, but if you want to skip the line you can pre-register (even print you dash card) at the site above. Paid pre-registration helps us as well.

I work with a guy who is one of the partners with Hysight Technologies. He might be able to give you a hand. http://www.hysighttech.com/ His name is John, tell him Rick Doerr (Door) sent you.

Show is less than a week away. If anyone is interested in judging please let me know. No experience necessary. If you would like to enter a car in the show you can preregister at https://www.carshowpro.com/event/123

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does stupid shit like leaving a sparkplug wire off. I was in the staging lanes for my first pass and realized I never set my tire pressure. When I got back to my trailer I checked them and was pretty close. One was half pound high and the other was half pound low. You're very welcome on the assist beside the highway.

Thanks to everyone involved for making this event happen. I finished the day with a new personal best for me in the car. I know there is more hiding in there, I just have to figure out where it is. I'm now in the lower half of the 8's with an 8.49 at 147. Leaving off the rev limiter is a hell of a kick in the pants. I'm actually sore today. The car's 60foot is right in the 1.15 to 1.20 range.

It's at Carlyle Racing if anyone wants to take a look.

Leaks are stopped, tires are holding air, car is running good. See you all tomorrow.

I think there was an interview with one of the girls quite a while ago, and she was asked if Hef took Viagra. She wouldn't say specifically, but she did reference that he "corked his bat". RIP, My childhood would have been very different without his magazines stuffed between the mattress and the box spring. I subscribed for several years.
