  1. Just my opinion on choosing the larger tools, make sure to take into account your shop size. If you have a crap ton of space for large tools, then by all means go for it. But if you fill up your shop space with tools you won't have room to work and you'll just get frustrated. Recently I've given away some of my fathers tools because they simply were too large for me to use and took up too much room in the shop. One of them was a gigantic Bellsaw thickness planer. I replaced it with a small benchtop Dewalt and I'm pretty happy with the extra room I have. I also gave away the lathe and will not be replacing that.
  2. I hate to say it, but there are a lot of people out there that look at "they're just animals". Somehow that makes them worthless. I imagine drugs are normally involved. I'me sure we'd all be amazed by what sounds like a good idea when you're baked on some of the shit running around today. That being said I would probably happily curb stomp someone I saw doing something like that. Our dogs are family members. They cuddle with us on the couch, they even sleep in the bed at times. My dogs go to school with me. When we had to put down Jeep last December that hit me as hard as when my dad passed away.
  3. For a simple little table that looks great. You might consider using something like this attached to your fence for dust collection. http://www.amazon.com/EXTENDED-DUST-PORT-Peachtree-Woodworking/dp/B0013ELVNW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1456399773&sr=8-2&keywords=router+fence+dust+collector If you do, I'd wire in an external outlet to plug in a shop vac. That way when you hit the switch to turn on the router it will turn on the shop vac at the same time.
  4. Thanks. Within reason I'm flexible.
  5. One of the things we always wanted in our shop was a panel saw. But no room for something that size. We would always cut sheets of plywood with the table saw. I saw this design earlier today. I may be adding this to my basement shop sometime soon. http://www.popularwoodworking.com/projects/fold-down-cutting-rack
  6. Sounds good to me. If I have to put up with shitty weather I might as well have the day off to go with it.
  7. Looking for a new tow rig for the trailer. Missed out on a 2500 back in January. Think a 1500 would work fine though. Looking for rust free (I know, I live in Ohio). 100,000 miles or less. Mechanical condition is less important as long as the price reflects the potential problems. Only deal breakers are rust, green paint and tan interior. Anyone know of anything out there clean for sale? BTW, looking for a first gen around '05. I'm not looking to take on much of a payment, so I need to keep the price down around $10,000.
  8. Looking for a set of 255/50-17. The tires on the Impala are shot and I don't really want to spend a bunch to sell it.
  9. I'd nail down the cost for the custom drive shaft before I swapped in the 4 speed. That could easily be the deal breaker.
  10. Damn, that would rock for my classroom. Doubt I could get the school to put up the $750,000 for it though. Good luck.
  11. I was wondering when this was going to come up. I still need to get that transmission fixed. I'll bring it back out again some time if people want me to.
  12. Something tells me the NHRA would have something to say about that.
  13. I hadn't even thought about what transmission. Looks like a 4L85-E. I guess I was aware if the wheel bearing issues, but not a big concern for me. The cladding could be an issue (hopefully the autobody guy at school can help with any issues there). Sounds like the biggest concern is burning oil. Think I'm going to take a look at it today and see what I can find out. My big question is what I'll find for rust.
  14. Think I found a new tow rig. Anyone have any information I need to know about an 04 Avalanche 2500? Mileage is about 130,000. 3.73 gears. Carfax shows 1 accident functional damage. I've heard rumors the 8 liter engines are famous for burning oil. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?
  15. I used Doctor Flue on the recommendation of Angies List. They were great. They performed the inspection and let me know I needed nothing done. They recommended a chimney cap. They custom ordered a chimney cap and came back to install it. 1-800-438-3583 Would use them again in a heart beat.
  16. There was a point in my life I would have jumped on that.
  17. I teach at the career center in Plain City (Tolles Career & Technical Center). If you guys are ever looking for some extra pairs of hands I'd be happy to introduce you to our Auto-tech instructor.
  18. Some repairs yes. His shop is big enough to get most RVs inside for work (only the truly huge RVs won't fit). Don't let the front of the business fool you, it's built into the side of a hill. He's honest to a fault. If he can handle it they will, if he can't they will tell you and can probably tell you who to take it to.

  20. Some one posted a bit ago about that thread. I read it and it was ugly then. I just caught up on it and it's brutal now. Wiggs poked his head in an posted ... he should not have done that. I think they're using sand paper instead of lube. It's only getting worse.
  21. I appreciate that. I was really looking for a flex (because of the lower price). You have the same model I have so I know what they cost. I probably should have just bought the refurbished one at $60. Was hoping someone had one laying around and would sell for $50 or less.
  22. That's a little out of my price range. I assume she'll wear it for a little bit then lose interest. Thanks though.
  23. I think a medium will fit her. My large was most of the way down the band on her wrist. What model is it? How much?
