For scifi, some of my favorites are: Enders Game Neuromancer The Paratwa series by Christopher Hinz starts with the book called Liege Killer For modern fiction I read everything I could find from Dale Brown and Tom Clancy If you're looking for more fantasy fiction an interesting series is the Incarnations of Immortality by Piers Anthony. The premise of the series is that the incarnations (death, war, fate, nature, etc...) are all just normal people who have been pulled into extraordinary jobs, like collecting and judging souls from the dieing. That series starts with On a Pale Horse.

Ohio inspection is a joke. When I bought a car from Indiana the inspection consisted of comparing the VIN on the dash to the VIN on the title. Nothing more.

Wish I could make it. Grad school Saturday morning classes for the next 4 weeks. Upside is it finishes the requirements for my masters degree.

GREAT! Netflix Instant Movie - War of the Arrows

I'll add it to my instant queue. -
Machine shop with a plasma cam? How precise do the holes have to be? Could you free hand them with a plasma cutter?

Non lethal? How about a .22? The noise would probably scare away an intruder or attacker, and will most likely poke some nice small holes in them if she aims. Unless she shoots them in the head they will probably survive.

I'm planning on being there. But I've been saying that all summer.

If there is only one ash tree then I'm all for treating it. It will cost a little more in the long run, but I think that is worth it. I just took 4 down and treated 9 more. There goes my summer project budget. The company did the work made some mistakes, so they made me a killer deal to plant 8 new trees to replace the ones we took down.

Equal size tree? If my trees had been planted when the house was built maybe. Some of the trees on my lot probably predate the house by 50 years. It would not be physically possible for me to replace them with equal size. Glad I'm out in the townships and not in a city.

I've been through this a couple times now. Anything that happens to/on your property is covered by your insurance. As it was explained to me we are dealing on the small scale. Imagine we were somewhere that weather was more extreme. If my house gets picked up by a tornado and dropped on another house, is it my fault? Should my insurance have to pay for both houses? Your home owners insurance people should be intimately familiar with this scenario and deal with it accordingly. I'm about to find out how Celina insurance deals with this. My previous insurance company lost my business over the way they dealt with the last similar situation.

Sounds like a catastrophic transmission failure to me. Good luck.

I have a blue ray player that will stream netflix and other services.

I took down 4 ash trees last week, but treated 9 in my back yard. Is treating them an option, or are they already too far gone to save? To replace some of the trees we cut we put in Weeping Cherries and King Crimson Maples. One of the things I insisted on was the trees had to be native to Ohio so they would be as maintenance free as possible.

I didn't loose power, but my neighbors tree crushed my A/C unit. At least I have power to run fans and shit.
-
I just spent a few thousand dollars taking out Ash trees right beside my house for fear of them coming down and hitting the house. And now I have a neighbors tree punched a hole in my roof and my living room. Oh, and the best part of it all is it CRUSHED my A/C compressor.
-
And, I'm back out. I get to spend my day on the phone with contractors to get my fucking neighbors tree out of my house. This is the second tree of his to fall and hit my house. At least he does not have any trees left that can reach me. Fuck I'm pissed right now.

That might help in this situation, but correct me if I'm wrong. As far as I know anything that is not expressly listed in law as illegal is automatically legal. Laws are written to be about what we cannot do and to describe those actions. If we start keeping a list of all the actions that are legal the library of congress will quadruple in size over night. Then what happens when I get questioned for an action that is not on the illegal list, but is also not on the legal list yet? I think I like the concept that if it's not against the law it's automatically legal.

I think finally I will make it back out for one of these. It's been so long since I've been there I'm getting the shakes.

I saw a couple of Cobras yesterday, but no Apaches.

http://jalopnik.com/5921099/identify-this-car-and-help-catch-the-type-of-guy-who-drops-dying-friends-into-dumpsters Identify This Car And Help Catch The Type Of Guy Who Drops Dying Friends Into Dumpsters Law enforcement agencies from across the U.S. have reached out to Jalopnik for help with car identifications since your input was "critical" to solving a hit-and-run earlier this year. Today, we try to help out homicide detectives in Columbus, Ohio with a murder featuring a damn offensive narrative. Here's how Detective Jon Compson described what you're looking at: Two males were involved in a situation where a shooting had taken place and one of the two were shot. Instead of driving him to the hospital, he drove him to the dumpster and dumped him out and left him to die. So, in that case, if we can find out whose car it was, we can then charge him with the murder that took place as well. The video I sent has two segments and the later part of the video shows the vehicle passing by the camera a few times. The driver heads towards a dumpster and gets the body out of the vehicle and then drives back past the camera again. We are unsure as to what type of vehicle it is. To summarize: Somebody dumped their friend who'd been shot into a Dumpster instead of even having the courtesy of dropping him out of the car by the nearest ER and calling 911 to anonymously report a dying person's location. The footage (nearly 14 minutes of it) is nowhere near clear, but if you take it full-screen, it shows the vehicle in a variety of angles. Writes Compson, "I look forward to seeing what your [readers] think about what they see." So, let's see what we can do to help Compson and the Columbus PD find this horrible human being.

I'd be interested to take a peak.

I would rather be there. Getting ready to fire up the log splitter again for another day of fun. At least I should probably be able to get the job finished today as long as my help shows up.

Any updates?

It's more about you than anything else. I am "back" in school myself after swearing I would never go back. This summer I will finish all the course work for my masters degree. I'm looking forward to finishing my license so that I can start taking courses that I want to (I'm thinking about a Cisco certification maybe). Maybe instead of a degree, cruise through the course catalog and see what courses would benefit you as a businessman, or would benefit you as a father/husband/family man. Since you don't really "need" the actual degree, why limit yourself to just that little slice of knowledge when you can pick and choose the things that interest or are important to you? BTW, I can tell you from my experience, going back to school is a whole different ball game than it was back when I was a kid. Obviously the education is the same, but I have changed. My goal is to get to my masters, and then 30 semester hours on top of that. I have to take college coursework to continue renewing my license anyhow, at least now I'm getting past the required work and I can start digging into work I want to do.
