  1. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up.
  2. Yeah, that's exactly the same thing that happened to mine. But we tried welding the nipple back in place and we succeeded in reattaching it, but we melted the slider in the process. I guess I could grind off the weld and do something similar. Thanks for the idea.
  3. Well, it's going on a year since I've been able to put my drivers window up and down without fighting it. I need the window track pieces from a drivers door. 93-02 camaro or firebird. Heck if you have a complete door laying around I'll buy the whole thing (as long as you don't want my right arm and left testicle). Been through junkyards, craigslist, ebay, etc... Only thing I have been able to find is complete doors and they want $300 for them. I need a 25cent part. If I need to buy a whole door, then I will. But, all I need is a small black plastic slider that attaches to the window and rides up and down in a track. It is what holds the window centered front to back and makes it go straight up and down.
  4. Ziplock freezer bags are your friend. A box of those and a sharpie will be worth the cost when it comes time to reasseble. Also a digital camera. When in doubt take a picture. from multiple angles, label everything. Did this with my LT1 tear down and it went back together like a snap. Also, if you want the heads rebuilt I know a small machine shop I would recommend. He can replace valve guides, recut the valve seats, cut the valves, etc... Hell, if you want titanium valves he can make them.
  5. I think I'm in the same area as you .... they've been doing that to me for years. It started with Adelphia doing the same shit.
  6. How are you liking the Nitto Invos? I'm in the market for a set of tires for my Impala and I've been reading good things about them.
  7. Don't forget the duck tape. A little Kentucky chrome would look right at home on that car.
  8. What Gearhead said. I'm at teacher at a career center. I've thought about signing up for the adult ed welding class a number of times. Never had the need to weld anything, just thought it sounded like something fun to learn. I'm friends with the welding teacher, so anytime I need something done I hit him up for a favor. And when he needs his PC fixed he calls me.
  9. I have a couple sets of HF impact sockets too. No problems so far here, but I use them pretty infrequently. I think the walls are a little thicker walled than the better sockets to make up for the inferior metals they use. Would make them a little harder to use in tight areas, but for the price they can't be beat.
  10. I've had my work done by Performance Powder coating. They do great work.
  11. Check the local career centers (vocational schools). A lot of them will run evening adult ed classes. TIG might not be on the curriculum, but be nice to the teacher and they'll probably take care of you. If you can't find anything in Columbus let me know and I'll check with our welding teacher. Was cool talking with you at the Easyrider show. I stopped by the booth sunday morning.
  12. I didn't read it, just looked at the pics but the first thing that struck me was it looks like an Enzo to me.
  13. If you decide to build one, check out Kegworks.com You can get all the bar specific items you won't be able to find at Home Depot or Lowes. An idea I saw I love is to put the sink of a wet bar at the same end as a keg fridge. The sink then becomes a drip tray for the keg taps.
  14. I would say it doesn't much matter what language you teach him. At this point it's less about learning syntax than it is about learning the processes involved in writing a program. If you can show him how to make a simple flow chart to see how the program will work. Now is the time to start building good habits (like planning a program before you sit down and start hammering away at the keys).
  15. I met him at one of the Sonic gatherings. I assumed he was on the site. Hell of a nice guy. He said all he runs on it are slicks, never takes them off.
  16. CRAP! Now I won't get to find out if the H6 was going to be the size of a cavalier. I figured too the H9 would be a pedal car.
  17. +1 for what Xyster has to say. I got my Bachelors in software engineering. I ended up finding a job teaching a Computer Science program at a career center. Most votechs have business programs, so that could be an option for you. If I were in your shoes I would look at Ashland University (Columbus campus is on 161 east of 71) and talk with them about their "Bachelors plus" program. You won't end up with a second bachelors or anything but I believe it's enough to get a teaching license. You will want to go for a masters degree. I am working on mine in Education Administration (at Ashland).
  18. You're not too far from me then. I was trying to work with the guys running Connect Ohio, but they disappeared off the face of the earth. Right now I'm paying $60 a month for my Sprint air card. I talked with a Time Warner engineer a while back. Unfortunately our area is a former Adelphia area. When Adelphia upgraded the cable plant to serve digital cable the cheap bastards only set it up with enough bandwidth to run analog cable and digital cable. Apparently Time Warner will need to spend major bucks ripping it all out and replacing everything to bring it up to speed for Road Runner. Since there are so few customers they would pick up it does not make good business sense to spend that kind of money. It would take 100 years for them to recoup their costs for the upgrade. So .... we get squat for broadband. I evened offered AT&T an easment on my property to bring out equipment for DSL. The cheap bastards wouldn't even do that.
  19. Brian is a great guy, and it's a blast hanging out at the Dyno. I have but one problem with him though. He doesn't have the software to tune my OBD1 LT1 cars. So, he called up a friend with the software and we got it done anyhow. Whatever it is that needs done he finds a way to get it done.
  20. No, I live in Hilliard, even graduated from Hilliard in '88. I teach out in Plain City at Tolles. So we do have Hilliard students, but also Dublin, West Jeff, Johnathan Alder, Madison Plains, London and Fairbanks.
  21. Man I like the car, but I've already got two LT1 cars. I'd love to have that drivetrain in my 94 Impala though.
