  1. This sounds silly, but what stores around town would have a big selection of fuel resistant o-rings? NAPA had nothing that would fit. The shape of the channel it needs to go in makes it hard to measure what I actually need, otherwise I'd order one online. This is for a fuel pump by the way. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/attachments/w116-s-se-sel-sd-class/271630d1257898581-diy-d-jet-fuel-pump-rebuild-pumpdrive.jpg
  2. I've got a hoist and a stand, if either doesn't work out, hit me up.
  3. My only experience is with a 2004 Jetta, there are finger shaped rust spots on both fenders at the top the wheel well (wish I had a picture) looks like someone in the factory picked up the fenders with greasy gloves and the paint never adhered right. However, the dealer keeps denying it because even though its really ugly, its not a through hole. So keep spraying salt water on it and in a year or so you'll get a fender.
  4. Hadn't logged in in a while and this thread didn't disappoint. Certainly something I'd never seen.
  5. I'm going to call you this weekend Kevin if you're still interested in taking Vespas.
  6. That's why I liked top gears AMG to Camaro comparo, yes the AMG is twice the money, but its twice the car. I love the new 5.0. Don't compare it to an M3. Totally different cars, totally different drives, totally different buyers. If you have $70k that you can legitimately spend, not you're capable of hyperextending your finances to $70k, none of those buyers go, oh I'd have a ford instead. It's nice to know the 5.0 is good value, but the same car, no, not at all.
  7. The car? Nah I bought it to flip it and I have roughly what its worth in it (cost more to fix than I thought) if I fix it I can break out of it. As is I'd lose my ass. I'm going to fix it, but I may wait until spring so I can pull every dollar out of it. We may have CR pull a tank at my shop night lol. It sounds like a real bitch. Buckeye wants $150 for the tank, pump, and sender, they won't sell just the tank. I'm going to look for just the tank. Apparently whoever broke in also hit some cars in the next lot over. I've gone on a little security rampage and pad locked, safety boxed, and locked everything I own. Which I should have done in the first place.
  8. I put my 1999 Cabrio that I am selling out in our businesses parking lot today before I went off to work at 450 in the NAPA parking lot on Silver Drive. At work I decided to not leave out an un-plated car and that the neighborhood sucked. I got back over there around 11. The lock had been jimmy'ed and someone destroyed the dash to get a 10 year old pioneer deck out. I also was like, hmmm I smell gas, sho 'nuff someone punctured the tank twice over two fucking gallons of gas. My Jeep sat out for a month, no damage and a lot of calls. I guess the german car was more appealing. $20 cd player, and $4 in gas. Solid work North Linden resident. Car now needs a dash with trim, a stereo, and a fuel tank. Just what I needed to do while trying to sell a car. I've got a picture of the deck, I'll post it, I'm trolling craigslist. Edit, also opinions on patching the gas tank. It is a plastic tank. A tank isn't too expensive but the is the hassle of pulling it, buying and picking up a new one and the install. Are the patches any good? Its got two 1/4" holes in it.
  9. I've got a $5 siphon pump and an empty 55 gallon drum. Shoot me a pm if you want to borrow both. I need both back.
  10. I've had people tell me you can use octane booster to save it, I disagree. Gas is cheap, so are siphons. Take the crap out.
  11. Meh if its a slow day in your life, go and show up, maybe the cop won't show. I got out of 86 in a 65 that way. Its free to show up.
  12. You friends with Lehman? I think I recognize half of those pics. Welcome.
  13. I'm asking the "fair" bluebook. Excellent is over $5k and this car has its couple faults. Shoot me an offer.
  14. 1999 Volkswagen Passat GLX - Cincinnati, Ohio *115,000 miles -Leather -Power Seats -Heated Seats -Sunroof -6 disc cd changer -AC -Alloy Wheels New throttle body, adapted with VAG-COM. New german made valve cover gaskets. New OEM PCV tubes. New stubby antenna. Very good tires. This is a very nice car and I've got a lot of time and money in it, I just am ready to sell it. The AC works, the CD player works. The drivers seat has a small hole in it, see the picture. There is a small ding in the drivers fender, and in the drivers A pilar. The car is dirty in the pic, it was sitting under a tree while I was out of town for two weeks. It will be well detailed before anyone buys it, no worries. Not looking for trades, $4,800 http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5583.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5584.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5593.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5592.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5590.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5591.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5608.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5609.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5604.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5601.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/CincinnatiFiero/Passat/DSCN5603.jpg
  15. I'll toss in my $.02. $3k is fair for a solid 300SD. Fuel economy, guys on the benz forum get like mid 20s. 23-26 is what I've read. Diesel benzes don't get the 35+ mpg craigslist ads like to claim. My '87 3.0L turbo does 26-29 in a lighter car. Which is a vast improvement over the 5.6L 560SEL version, but just remember this isn't a VW TDI. 173k on a car that sounds this well maintained is next to nothing. Plenty of guys on the diesel forum are breaking 300k on them. I had a 300D with 379k, it is still running and driving daily with the new owner. Original motor, 2nd trans. Maintained these are some of the best cars you can buy. My current daily just rolled 181k, my running parts car has 180k. I maintain a pair for a guy, hes got 297k and 225k on his, and a mutual friend has 360k and 390k on his pair.
  16. I hated my TJ lol, loved it in the winter, hated putting gas in it. Do you need four seats, you've got kids right?
  17. UNC-C has a huge car club with some really nice cars. It happens to be July. Wait until September.
  18. I have not, I am about to. VMRs would probably be too much dinero. Honestly this is a half assed commitment. Its my now 179k mile DD, I'm not putting $1k in rims on it. If I could make it more baller for like $200 with some rims you guys had in your shed I'd be all about it. I'll put Brabus reps on the E420 in the spring. Raderworks seems to be a lot of like 19s, too much dub for this 80s ride. I like these https://wagen-wheels.com/products/ESM_002_16-119-29.html https://wagen-wheels.com/products/Keskin_Tuning_KT1_16-66-29.html But this car is hardly worth the $1,200 wheels and tires would be.
  19. I wouldn't buy a $20,000 2005 Mercedes V8. I am all for zee-germans but if you're looking for a car like that you probably can't afford to fix it and that cheap it'll have a shitton of miles on it.
  20. I've always given props to bodykitted Hondas that actually got painted all the same color regardless of how bad the kit was. Further than 99% of them. $5,800 sounds like a shitton for a '91 Integra automatic as well.
  21. Knock offs, there is a set on ebay for like $775 right now. They don't have to be 5 spoke I'm just going for the cast look of 80s wheels. They don't have to look like Ronal R9s either. Just something old. Not looking to spend a lot, this is my low investment DD, if I find the right wheels I'll buy them, I don't need them tonight.
