Hammering on a socket is the trick I have always used.

I'm a Mercedes Diesel guy, 5cyl diesels are right in the middle. I have the "OM603" Inline-6 diesel which only came in the E-Class for one year. It was the most powerful diesel they put in the W124. The later cars had a 5cyl, it is slightly slower but does better on fuel. Several of my friends have the "OM602" 5cyl cars, my car runs away on the highway (19+HP 22+TQ) but they'll go a little further, about 1-3mpg better.

5 years of problem free operation. Your own testimonial should be the answer to your question. If Redline diff oil has worked that well for that long in an M3, I wouldn't try to reverse engineer opinions off of like the Honda forum. I've used redline oil in diffs and never had problems.

Your friend is wrong. Open your owners manual, it will tell where they think the optimal shifts are. Even my automatic mercedes has a chart that plots shift speeds based on throttle position.

I've got a Baldwin 127F "Fun Machine" electric organ for sale. It sits in the office at the shop and it needs to go. It worked when it was last in the house. If someone comes to see I can hook it up to make sure it works correctly. I've got the padded bench to go with it. $200 Not quite sure what a 30 year old electric organ is worth. It is a Baldwin so its not junk. Yes this is on CL. I know an Organ is kind of wild for a car forum, but hey we all have weird stuff taking up space in the garage. I can deliver for gas money.

If its bad for your car my car is fucked. What is the argument for that being bad for the trans? The Mercedes diesel guys shoot to keep their rpms under 3k all the time for mpg. Its kind of hard to tell you where the optimal shift point is not knowing the car. Different cars are efficient at different points and you have different gears to help the motor at times. Keeping your car in top gear at no revs isn't necessarily what you want. My car will move up a hill at 700 rpms in 5th at WOT lugging the shit out of it. Is that better for mpg than using a lower gear? Doubtful. Net effect, shifting bad for the trans? In my opinion no. Where to shift for mpg, what was the SAT answer - "not enough information"

This is stupid but I figured I'd ask so I don't wind up on a watch list . Is it legal/safe to ship an air bag? I have a Mercedes air bag I was thinking about selling on ebay and wanted to make sure I could ship it.
