Valvetronic is less advanced, but has been in production for the past decade so BMW has been getting pretty good at using it. I think the new N55 will be the first turbo motor to use the technology. I'll be interested to see where BMW takes Valvetronic and how successful Multi-Air is initially. Fiat seems to have done more homework, but bmw is out there using the technology in thousands of cars. Mercedes Benz is making good progress with the Blutec, "adblue" additive (urea injection). They are putting it on highway Semi-Trucks in europe. The cost of the additive is coming down as well. It's mental expensive from the MB dealer but you can buy it from the VW dealer for 1/4 the price and buy it from Shell online for even less. I wasn't under the impression multiair is for HCCI, it is just similar to BMWs valvetronic. I never said it was bad, but people were getting rock hard because it has a stock turbo. That car doesn't have a turbo because it is mad tyte fast and furious. It has one for efficiency and to add some power. Econoboxes make use of turbos for a different reason. My comment revolves around people think turbos make any car fast, I never said there was anything wrong with the cruze. I think the Cruze and the new Fiesta are great. Porsche didn't build the Hammer. Mercedes didn't think AMG was capable of building the 500E, so they gave it to porsche. As a response AMG built the 6.0L Hammer a year or two before the 500E came out. The Hammer was like $80,000 more than the 500E haha. Contrary to popular belief it is NOT a 500E AMG.

The turbo on that car is the only thing that separates it from a golfcart. Turbos aren't a free ticket to an awesome car.
