It's that time to let your voice be heard and vote for the Board of Directors. There is one long standing board member who thinks 'assault weapons' should be banned along with any magazine over 5 rounds - Joaquin Jackson. The way I see it, this guy is part of the problem and seems like a disgrace to the great State of Texas. Make sure this guy does NOT GET YOUR VOTE.

IMI is Israeli Military Industries. They manufacture weapons (among other things) for the Israeli Defense Force and used to make semi-auto Galil rifles for export to the US back in the 80's. A quality organization, or used to be anyway. IWI (Israeli Weapons Industries) used to be the small arms division of IMI until they were purchased from the Israeli government by a private company in 2005. My friend wasn't interested in buying from cheaper than dirt. He was looking at a deal for around $3000/500 IMI polymer mags.

Anyone have any first hand experience with the Israeli (IMI) polymer 30 round mags for the AR15? Good quality?

Current law in Ohio says that if you install a 31+ round magazine in a semi-auto firearm it becomes equivalent to an "unregistered machinegun" as defined by Ohio law.

It's a great little carry gun but it really isn't much fun to shoot. Glad I have one, though, as it's the easiest gun to conceal that I've ever owned. So comfortable you might forget you are carrying. Especially nice in the summer.

Contact your favorite vendors and suggest that they follow suit. We need to get ammunition manufacturers involved so the local police cannot train in these States.

The ammo is all military surplus and will probably either be Bulgarian or Russian. Bulgarian can be lead core FMJ but the Russian will be steel core FMJ for sure. No soft points are used in the military. All of this ammo is steel case, berdan primed and will use potassium chlorate as the oxidizer in the primer. When it burns it produces potassium chloride salts which attracts water and will speed up the corrosion process. Cleaning after your range trip is a must. The M91/30s have gone through an arsenal refurbishment process and should all be decent shooters. Bore condition will vary a bit, but all will be functional.

Did he file a claim yet or contact FedEx? Let's see some photos of the top of the package with the flaps closed. Can you tell if it could have been re-taped?

Do you have the tracking number for the package? Make sure you capture the path so you can determine locations where this package was handled.

Hmmm... wonder what substances are readily available at most FedEx hubs...maybe road salt this time of year! Workers decide to check out some packages and then substitute their empty beverage containers filled up with the road salt sitting in the corner... who knows.

I think you will probably get your money back from FedEx. Sounds like the seller just needs to file the claim. It will probably take a while, though, but at least the seller is responding. Doesn't seem like he's trying to rip you off. Good luck!

Keep in mind that you are allowed to purchase gun magazines with PayPal. Anything that is allowed on eBay is allowed on PayPal since they are the same company. They don't need to know the magazine capacity. Did you pay for insurance on the package? If so, the seller needs to start pursuing that route(file a claim with the shipper) since the mags he shipped were stolen in route. You should be working through PayPal at the same time in case the seller was not honest (unlikely from a guy with 60+ feedbacks and 720 post count on the forum). If you get your money back through PayPal from the seller, the seller will be forced to get his money through the insurance that you paid for. If you didn't pay for insurance...shame on you.

I think 10 years corresponds to what some militaries use for small arms ammo. After 10 years it either gets destroyed, broken down for components, or sold to the civilian market as live ammo. The oldest surplus ammo that I've ever fired was some Russian 7.62x54r ammo and it was dated 1945. Still functioned flawlessly!

Obama is "confident" that new gun control and immigration laws will be passed very soon. What they will be is unknown. I'm guessing that at the very least they will be able to pass a 10 round mag. limit. If ANYTHING gets passed, it's going to be very bad news as they will continue to chop away at our rights. One step at a time. This "universal background check" sounds innocent enough but in order for it to be enforced, there will need to be a national gun registry. This will fit right in with the UN Small Arms Trade Treaty that's coming up in March. Registration makes it much easier to confiscate, which is their ultimate goal. You guys need to keep writing/calling/emailing your government reps. Don't become complacent. I think Mojoe's timing is a bit optimistic. Supply will take a long to catch up this time and the prices won't come down much in 2013. Ammo supply will probably be back in October, but at still elevated prices - unless the Small Arms Trade Treaty happens and imports of ammo stop. If that happens ammo prices will skyrocket.
