  1. I really don't like that they are fwd based. A Blazer on a Colorado frame (kinda like the older Blazers and S-10's) would be pretty sweet I think, but I guess that would just make it a Trailblazer.
  2. If the brakes on the newer ones are anything like the older Colorado's, then they are a terrible pain in the ass.
  3. This weekend and next I am busy. After that I may be able to make it out there to help. If you still need help by then then just pm me.
  4. I did fuel lines on my 03 Avalanche last year. The hardest part was sneaking them past the motor and firewall and that damn nut at the top of the trans. I can't be there to lend a hand, but if you need any advise I am glad to help.
  5. I don't mean to thread jack, but if more than one person is interested, I also have a futon I have been trying to give away. It's all metal (not just the basic one though) and does not have a mattress. Free if someone wants it, I can text pics if anyone is interested.
  6. I'll take a motorcycle helmet if you have any left, I'd also take a jacket if one fits.
  7. I know about Rob through a facebook page we're on. He takes a lot of shit and gets meme'd quite a bit (mostly because of his 4 rotor FD that has more miles put on it being pushed than under it's own power), but he takes it all in stride and is a pretty cool dude. Most of the rotary fan boys think this pisses off those who swap rx7's, but most of us think it's pretty cool.
  8. It sounds like you lose interest because you never have time to do with projects what you had planned (when they are finished). That's kind of my problem with my car. I have had it for 7 years now and it has been a project the entire time. I'm not terribly far from getting it running, but other priorities took away from my hobby for a long time and now I just lack the motivation to work on it now (actually I have 2 car projects to worry about now, but one is much less involved, mechanically). Maybe make a point to do some of the things with your projects that you had planned to do, kinda feel it out and see if it still grabs your interest. If it no longer does then you can comfortably move on.
  9. The house I grew up in had a metal roof. We lived there 20+ years, the roof was there when we moved in and when we left. Also, nothing beats the sound of rain on a metal roof when you go to sleep at night.
  10. Iirc these cars had a near perfect balance, didn't they? Are you planning on doing anything to offset the weight difference in the motor? Also, if you need an extra hand turning a wrench, I live about 5 minutes from northend wrench.
  11. As far as dropped calls go, it's not terrible (maybe 4-5 dropped calls in the last 3.5 years). I don't like the way my bill keeps going up, customer service is meh (the few times I have called anyhow), my data plan sucks (once you are dialed back, it is 2g speeds). I'm honestly just looking for a better deal than what we are paying, honestly.
  12. I have Sprint and I plan on switching when my contract is up in May. I was paying 140/mo for 2 lines (basic unlimited, both phones and insurance included) and within a year and a half I am up to nearly 160/mo. I looked into other carriers and it seems Cricket is the way to go for us. 90/mo for the top tier unlimited (the don't dial back speeds after so many gigs) for 2 lines, phones are paid for up front.
  13. Nobody has had their life posted on CR like I have.
  14. I'll take your word for it, you have far more knowledge of Subaru's than myself. May I ask why though?
  15. What about a Subaru? An older WRX could be had for half your budget, has awd (so practical year round) and can be quick. Just, when you get one replace the timing belt and throw in some mls head gaskets and don't worry about it lol.
  16. Fair enough. You realize there is a bit of irony in saying you need a vehicle that you can count on starting everyday when you own a RX-8, right? That's also a joke, for the record.
  17. You missed the days of Gabe and Phil. They would have been all over this thread like stink on shit, it would have ended up in the kitchen 10 years ago.
  18. I see your heep has a 4.7, don't let it get hot or it will start dropping valve seats. Also, the valve covers are a magnesium alloy and warp easily (the fix is composite valve covers) and keep up on oil changes or the timing chains will start to rattle (and need replacement). If you want to make a llittle more power there are H.O. parts out there, there is a company that makes adapters to bolt on any 4.6 ford manifold, including the one for the blower from the 03-04 cobra. Not sure if they make a full kit (belts and all) to put it on there and the pistons don't handle boost that well from what I hear. Anywho, glad you are doing well. I would talk to your dad about taking over the business in the future (self employed > working for someone else), maybe work with him to see if you can turn things around and make better profits.
  19. The only thing I have to say about the v6 Mustang is that even the ecoboost guys look down their noses at them. Also, there isn't as much of an aftermarket for them as the other motor options. If I were you, I would be pming Doc ASAP.
  20. Yeah, v8 or bust. Honestly, get a Miata to have a fun reliable daily while you drop a ls into the rx8?
  21. 15 years ago I was 19 and drove shitboxes. I got my z31 when I was 20. These days I have 2 project cars and a couple böring daily's. One project I need to get an abandoned title (bugeye WRX wagon) for then drop a motor in, maybe the other (4g64 fc rx7) will run this year with enough motivation.
  22. 92 Camaro 95 Dodge Ram (wife) 01 Grand Am (wife) 87 Rx7 99 Blazer 94 Accord 01 Durango (wife) 90 Rx7 (current) 05 Grand Prix (current daily) 05 Equinox (wife) 03 Avalanche (wife's current daily) 02 WRX wagon (current)
  23. So a base model MK4 Supra is not a supercar? I wouldn't consider the turbo model to be either. Just my opinion.
