  1. I'll just go on record now, getting your ass handed to you by a BBQ Grill painted Fiero is NOT going to be a good feeling That little shit box is SCARY but quick!
  2. All kidding aside, you HAVE built one pretty cool unique ride that can haul some serious ass. Low 11s is still very respectable, even in the era of factory built supercars/dragsters we are in now.
  3. I mean... why not? Haven't seen you at the shop in a couple weeks
  4. Metro Transmission near Easton, great guys very straight forward and honest and reasonable on pricing. We deal with them OFTEN on units we aren't rebuilding/upgrading ourselves.
  5. +10 for Carlyle Racing and Andy over there, they are the kings of LS / LT performance around central Ohio
  6. Ahh the Good 'ole Days. I have a variation of this conversation almost every day either with customers, friends, or random people at the bar who see what I drove up in or the shirt I have on. Until the mid 2000s as JP was saying if you had car that ran 12s you were a hell of a car/driver to contend with. Someone who had that much time/money/energy in their ride had developed it with a plan and learned along the way how to handle it. Money/Credit was also much easier to come by and costs of living weren't yet at painful levels they are now. Ask anyone now in their late teens early 20s how much available cash they have to spend on "Upgrades" and you'll get a laugh...or a tear. Twin turbo V8s? That's dream land in the early 2000s and if it DID exist it made somewhere around 500whp. Now? We see Turbo/Procharged/Supercharged cars in and out and down the road literally daily most of which make WELL north of that number. Police involvement absolutely is a part of this as well. We were the victims of our on success, is it got more and more popular the widespread success brought attention from the powers that be. Couple that with some high profile accidents and arrests there's your end of an era. Technology definitely had a part to play in this as well, there are just far more things now demanding your ever shrinking attention. You've got a smaller and smaller interested younger crowd, that can expend less and less money, that have fewer and fewer nights with "nothing to do but wrench" P.S. I Daily Drive a big rumbly loud American Muscle Car VERY day during the summer, at least 40 miles a day around the north end 270/161 area and can count on 1 hand the number of nods or thumbs up I get anymore much less a rev/hunk/beep like it used to be. A/C on, windows up, face in the phone, thinking about their Tindr hookup for later that night and how best to filter their next selfie keeps people from even bothering to look... if they would even be interested in the first place.
  7. Awesome pick up man! Can't wait to see you wheel that thing around an Auto Cross event! Listening to those things wind out is such an unnatural feeling for a muscle car guy, as you pass 6k we are cringing and leaning forward into the shift... and it just keeps... on... going! And hey I DD the '71 with cutouts open all the time, just makes sure everyone knows where I am Wait.. yeah that does sound maybe a little high schoolerish
  8. It's a great event, we expecting another massive turn out this year. Encourage everyone to come out, make a donation, then join us for the car show/photo shoot in the evening! So begins an amazing weekend for gearheads!!
  9. If you are going the Ford route, you'll be doing a conversion, it's not worth the hassle to try and get the original setup somewhere near what you are going to want. The benefit of the C10 chassis, and in general with Chevys, is that the aftermarket is massive and has absolutely everything figured out and at a very reasonable price. We've built both C10s and F series trucks, actually we have both a '68 C10 and a '71 F in here right now, in addition to our '65 C10 shop truck and the ease of upgrades and costs of the Chevy platform are huge. Just is how it is.
  10. Safe travels Sir and thanks for being out there as a CR Ambassador!
  11. Don't remember seeing that car there, but 100% agree now THATS a sexy cougar!
  12. Welcome How those guys keep the doors open and lights on for what they charge doing exhaust work I have no idea, but they do some pretty damn decent work especially for the price! Glad they could get you taken care of
  13. It actually turned out to be something completely different. The center hole of the rotor was just a tiny bit too small so the rotor wasn't fitting properly on the hub, which would induce a wobble. Also the wheel is slightly bent / out of balance so there were a few contributing factors. Unfortunately on a car that's literally had everything replaced from bumper to bumper there are often times these sorts of issues. All part of the fun!
  14. Completely agree with Dave, this was an absolutely excellent experience. Very well run, great turnout as the evening went on before the rains rolled in there were cars literally everywhere. Great time, unfortunately no BBQ in my evening On a good note, we strapped the Chevelle that's been a grade 8 nightmare onto their dyno and spotted yet another issue! Thankfully before anything catastrophic happened! Yay new build shakedown!!
  15. How far back needs redone? That's a single going back then is it split at the axles? In the exhaust game Cheap+Quick=Mad Hatter
  16. There's a reason most "Tire Shops" are branching into service work
  17. If playing means spending last years profits still while slowly tossing some $$$ at down trodden coin values then yes
  18. Very nice, that's got to be quite a ride on the street!
  19. We DO sell tires but there's so little profit in tires there often times isn't much we can do. As mentioned above we ARE a TR installer for literally everything and you can have product shipped directly to us. CR folk we'll always do our best for, but with stupid thin margins on most things in the tire world there's only so much we can do. Clearly tires isn't our usual "Thing", but there's nothing we can't do! As we speak swapping out tires for a customer ZL1 Time Attack car, not sure where he got his treads but a lot of the other shops around have us handle their wheel/tire/balancing/alignment for them. With all that said, if you are looking at something specifically shoot me the details and I'll send you the best price I can get them for.
  20. Lol ummmm what are you looking for?
  21. Just curious... will this be making the trip down for Street Car Takeover in a couple weeks? Asking for a friend...
  22. Well this actually works out for the best, but holy shit what a weekend with Street Car Takeover the following day!
