After Alex was done, it was time to get the supra home. This week has been a LONG one in the garage to say the least. I am trying to button up all the loose ends.... While the dash was apart, I went ahead and installed the TRD Tach: Plumbed in the freshly installed Tial's on Alex's new hard pipes: Installed the drivers seat and harness... I am going to leave the passenger seat out for now Until Larry works his magic: I am still working today and will be loading up tomorrow to head to SP on Monday. Hopefully I can get everything done that needs to be done before the car is wired up! One quick shot before I go back to wrenching...

Only way to learn is to get your hands dirty. I have some interesting and similar stories with my motor mounts lol Keep after it, ask questions, and do your research.

glad to see another guy saying "f**k it.. i know nothing about this, but lets give it hell" Excellent project!

I saw this in person. After blasting through the traps at 207 with a 7.2, the car just burst into flames. I didn't get to hear what caused it, but the car looked in pretty rough shape. Most of the damage was from the firewall forward from what I saw. Glad Mark is OK, and I hope you guys didnt have too much go up with the fire.

I figured that the turbo i am running may be lazy, so i got a little motivation for that 47 spool up......

I hope so. He is going to start learning how to weld this week to try to get my car done!

Well after being long overdue, my car went out on the highway today... unfortunately it was on the trailer.... However it went to the BPA shop to get all the fab work straightened out. Had a good chat with Alex L, and I cant wait to see the results. Not very often does a supra in ohio see another of its kind!
-
as I see it now, the car should be heading to Alex's place to get fab work done around the first week of may... then on to get a tune. Hope to get the body work finished by the shootout, but if I need to run it with the dented quarter, itll just have to be fast so no one can tell! lol

Been busy, but now im getting in the final button up stages... final wiring of the fuel system, etc.... here is a shot of the rad, fans and belt installed

Picking up car from a shop in "worse" condition
miller11386 replied to 98fiveseven1647545503's topic in Passing Lane
Classic case where the customer has no idea what hes doing, makes specific statements and mandates to a shop, the shop complies, and the customer doesn't understand the repercussions of his own ignorant moves. Now he will blame the shop (foolishly) for something that is not their fault. I agree there are parts missing here... like where he ran it up to 180 mph on the way home and grenaded 2 cylinders. -
nearly half of the windshield is tinted! thats ridiculously low!!
-
It has a baffle just inside the inlet that directs air up to the top of the core.... so I think it will work just fine. These have been used on a few different supra builds that are over 1500hp so im sure it will be fine for me

I decided to to for a bigger cooler than my greddy 3 row because I have to get pipes fabricated to fit.. so I went with the SP 5" intercooler
-
my wiring is far from excellent lol. I am hoping to start it up here soon. Then interior needs put in and some of the switches need put in place. Then she needs to visit Alex L for some fabrication and finally hauling it out to SP for a tune. I wont be driving it much until that point. Hoping to wrap it all up in time for the good weather.

After a mock up and test fit this past week, I was able to take a solid 10 hours yesterday and modify the engine harness to what I need. Nothing like paying big bucks for a stock harness then just cutting to death! Time for an update... Key was very tempermental, key was bent, and was not smooth, So I opted to swap it out. http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a440/miller11386/2013-03-22_18-09-31_794_zps7d67f41e.jpg The dash has to be pulled apart, key inserted and turned to the ACC postion to allow the lock button to be depressed. Then they key and cylinder should just pull out... since mine was full of metal shavings and debris, I needed vice grips and to pry out the cylinder lol Here is where the button is that needs depressed to pull the key cyl out: http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a440/miller11386/2013-03-22_18-09-53_833_zps5b972abe.jpg Now my new nightmare... wiring! Got a 6 speed harness and found that the wire tuck that was done previously has a lot of the items integrated. So its a matter of figuring out what has been done and what needs done. I am by far from a good wiring guy, so this is the biggest challenge for me... http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a440/miller11386/2013-03-22_21-57-06_102_zps6593da71.jpg I installed my LQ9 coil kit and got it all ready to integrate in the harness. http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a440/miller11386/_facebook_286219098__zps8afd9912.jpg eye candy pic of the coils and brackets http://i1035.photobucket.com/albums/a440/miller11386/2013-03-23_12-08-11_906_zpsc4b41613.jpg

After a long Saturday in the garage... I put the engine, trans, shifter, drive shaft, etc all in the car yesterday along with finishing up most of the fuel system. http://sphotos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/734362_10100614720816742_2043364266_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/188845_10100614720597182_1701872132_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/601625_10100614949633192_1047878738_n.jpg
