American Family doesn't insure bikes, at least they didn't when I got mine last year. That is the reason we switched to State Farm.

So what do you wear? I used to wear tennis shoes, but I was always paranoid about the laces getting caught in the chain or sprockets. I have also had incidences where the laces got caught on my pegs as I put my foot down. I wear boots all of the time now. You get used to it when you do it all of the time.

Up for sale is a Corbin seat that should fit 94-97 ZX-9Rs. I bought this from Ebay and the seller claimed it came from an 02 ZX-9R. It didn't and doesn't fit on my bike. From my research, it appears this is for a 94-97 ZX-9R. http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/884/seattop2cw.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/4121/seatsideview3us.jpg http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/2537/seatbottom5lx.jpg $130 or make an offer Next up - rear stand used on ZX-6s and my ZX-9. Not sure of the brand, but the guy I bought this from believes it to be an older hindle stand. This stand requires rear spools. $50 or make an offer. http://home.columbus.rr.com/lmosle/stuff/stand.jpg

You guys are missing the point. You SHOULD wear boots. It's a very good idea. He is making the point, that, when you are wearing NO other protective gear, what is the point of wearing boots? You most likely aren't going to die of foot injuries, but head/chest injuries. If you aren't going to wear a helmet and jacket, why not just wear tennis shoes or (my personal favorite) flip-flops? Spaceghost, it simply boils down to many of them think it won't happen to them, can't happen to them, or it won't be that bad, although some of them probably think that it makes them tough. Many of them probably feel like everyone else is supposed to watch out for them. Since they are on a vehicle, they are just as safe as when they are in their car. Personally, I think it's silly. I feel naked without my jacket, gloves, helmet, and boots.

bump from the grave - still have the tank.

You can call me on my cell at 614-886-7680. My name is Larry. We won't be home until after 6pm tomorrow night, but you can come by after that if you want.

Ryan, definitely check State Farm. And no, your current insurance doesn't care what you previously rode or that you previously had insurance with them. It is amazing the Duc costs less to insure than the R1. Probably not really. The people that can afford Ducati's are older and responsible and generally don't crash them/act the fool.

How big a dog? We have a small kennel - it's really meant for something not much bigger than a full grown toy breed like a pomeranian (10-15 lbs), but would be fine for a puppy, at least until it starts getting larger. It needs cleaned out and some new bolts/screws to hold it together, but you can have it.

Sat on a 748 while I was there. I can tell, on the street, that bike would be a torture wrack, at least for me. I was practically laying on the tank to reach the clip-ons. OTOH, the BMW K1200S. OMG. Didn't ride it but I sat on it. I think I might have found my ultimate sport tourer. Good-looking (unlike the Hayabugly and ZX-14), and comfy, yet aggressive. 20K, though. Maybe I'll be able to pick one up used someday. The Monster S2R was fun, but I don't know that I would own one. It doesn't have the 'hit' like the inline 4's - the power really feels kind of 'soft' if that makes any sense. Maybe the 748/999s are different, but I am not extremely impressed with the overall power of the 800cc S2R. The rest of the bike is nice, although I don't know if it is $9000 worth of nice. You guys missed out on a good time. At the very least, there was food. The dealership was nice and I got a nice deal on a Firstgear mesh jacket for my wife ($75). Oh, and Rhiannon Lucente is both hot and a sweet girl.

I'm going. Should be fund to get to ride one.

I'd say you're getting your money's worth. Run us evil bikers out of town. An even better idea, though, is to ride around legally. The cops just LOVE to fuck with people who are breaking the law. I don't know why they do that shit. There are so many law-abiding citizens that are much more fun to pick on.

That's what I was thinking as well, but figured I would check locally. I don't have to beat Newegg, but getting close is good. Rather deal locally when possible.

I need to know if anyone has a hook up on computer parts. Thinking about upgrading and I will need the following: AMD Opteron 165 (dual-core 2x1mb cache, 1.8GHZ) Abit KN8-SLI or ASUS A8N-SLI Premimum motherboards for Socket 939 Processors Some brand of GeForce 7600GT card 2GB (2 x 1GB sticks) Corsair PC3200 memory - this model and brand: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145575

I suppose if they had to pull the wheels and it took them like...3 days to do it. Let me understand - they wanted to charge you $120 in labor for a tire you actually purchased there? And these dealers wonder why people stop buying from them. You can buy your own tire changing station for not much more than that.

LOL. e-thug FTW! Be happy that he didn't write anyone a ticket or sling anyone's bike and take it to impound. Lot of guys screwing around have given all of us a bad name. It's something you'll have to deal with. Stay legal and don't do anything stupid out in public.

You didn't need that last sentence. I inferred the damage from your first few...uhhh...sentences.

Don't feel bad - I still can't identify most model years (heck, most MODELS), unless it is a ZX-9. There are so many models and so many subtle changes from redesigns that it is hard to tell. If the design didn't change, the only way to tell them apart is to know what the paint scheme for a given year is.

Uh oh - what's this? Someone write a check they almost couldn't cash?

Ironray has my info. I may not be home until after noon. If I can't make it, I can't. Maybe next time.

When and where?

I found this very informative and it has application on the street as wheel as 'only' track, despite the title. If this has been posted before, my apologies. It is not showing up in my searches. Thanks for Cycleforums where I found the original link http://aprilia.vladiks.com/aprilia_docs/TrackDoD%20Novice%20Guide.pdf He also has some other good articles (they are not stunna articles, despite the directory name. - ok, except the wheelie article ) http://aprilia.vladiks.com/stunt_articles/ edit: more good stuff - http://aprilia.vladiks.com/aprilia_docs/
