Rob, can this welder handle something like welding exhaust shit for a turbo? I know squat about welding, but isn't there another gas besides argon that can be used (and could this be converted). Interested fo shizzle!

Tabbed browsing is the best. I was turned onto it with Firefox, but it was so unstable with a few of the websites I use, I switched to Maxthon. Firefox also couldn't handle some of our internal websites at work, and there are some plugins that simply don't work Maxthon has many of the FF features, but uses the IE rendering engine, so, sites that only render properly with IE work fine, as do all plugins that IE supports. It is also faster. The one drawback is that it does seem to have a memory leak. Still don't like IE though, not unless Microsoft speeds it up some

How much are tickets and parking? Anyone have any idea?

+1 Experience dictates what what we would suggest. If you have no experience, then I suggest an SV650, Ninja 500 or even a mid 90s CBR600. Before you actually purchase the bike, get a quote from your insurance agent. You may not like the results.

I have never been to this. What kind of stuff do they have? Is it mostly 93 and older Fords or is there a lot of modular stuff there as well?

What a waste of time and taxpayer money. Fairtax would eliminate this BS and put an end to the battalions of accountants required by every company. Good luck! Dealing with a department that has as much power as any tax collection department (city, state, or federal) can't be fun.

Done! Thanks Ben!

I'm looking at the Sunday test and tune instead, would that also be ok? I'm not sure which class my car fits in - I THINK it is F- Street Prepared (ESP). I have 4.30 gears (3.27s are stock), a cat-back and catless mid-pipe, and a tri-ax shifter. No suspension modifications, subframe connectors or anything else. If the weather doesn't cooperate, does it get rescheduled?

Ben, thanks! If I have any more questions I'll let you know.

Ben, I have am interested in doing this, but have never been to an AutoX before. Can I participate in the 1/1 test and tune?

FS: Uniboard floating, tongue-and-groove laminate flooring
lemosley01 replied to lemosley01's topic in Other Stuff
Anthony, sent a return PM. I got it from Sam's club. I'm not entirely sure that they carry it anymore (either this brand or that particular color). It was a year ago that we bought it. -
I have 1 full box (9 planks) and 1 opened box (8 planks) of Uniboard floating, tongue-and-groove laminate flooring. The color is island cherry, and diminesions are 47 7/8 long x 7 5/8 wide x 9/23 thick. The opened box will cover 22.9 sq ft and the unopened one will cover ~ 20 sq ft. This is the kind of flooring that 'snaps' together for a glueless installation and does not require gluing or nailing down. For reference, the two hallways pictured required me to use 2 boxes and 1 plank from the third box. They are ~80" long by 38" wide. http://home.columbus.rr.com/lmosle/flooring/hallway2.jpg http://home.columbus.rr.com/lmosle/flooring/hallway1.jpg It is easy to install, and will also include the foam underlay, an installation video, a wooden and metal block installation tool, and the shims necessary to keep it far enough away from the wall while laying it. $30 for all of the stuff. http://home.columbus.rr.com/lmosle/flooring/box.jpg http://home.columbus.rr.com/lmosle/flooring/label.jpg

+1 See the Motorcyclist Helmet test. Kind of turns on it's ear that more expensive = better protection. http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/gearbox/hatz/

I had a 94 CBR(F2) and road my friends Katana - I think it was a 93 or something. I don't believe they have changed a lot since then, but I didn't like the way it felt and it was definitely down on power compared to my 94 CBR, which is down on power compared to a 96 CBR. I believe the 96 also has some suspension upgrades that my 94 didn't have. Hands down, the CBR is the better bike. More power, better handling, lighter. They also make excellent track bikes should you ever decide to do that, and lots were made so parts abound (lots of Katanas were made as well, so there are lots of parts for those, too). And Integra 906, thanks for your opinion. I'll bet you couldn't push a Katan to 60% of it's capability, let alone a CBR.

Corss your fingers about cameras at intersections ...
lemosley01 replied to chrismindless's topic in Passing Lane
You can always jump off of your bike and press the crossing button. I've been known to do that. If the light won't turn, I just make a right turn and come back the other way. Too risky running it. -
Brian, if you go to the DMV office on west broad st, they have the course setup (dots on the pavement) in the parking lots. I believe that the area behind the old JC Penney in Westland malls parking is also setup - I know I saw a bunch of Buells out there doing the MSF (I assume this was an AD Farrow class or something). The actual driving test, IIRC correctly consists of 4 parts: 1) Braking test. You have to accelerate to 15-20 mph, then brake once you cross a line. The idea is to stop before a certain point. They deduct points for going to far. It sounds easy, but it is pretty difficult to get it under that point - you have to brake pretty hard. 2) Turning test. Basically they have setup something like this: ------| ---| | | | | | you drive in from the bottom and must turn inside this box without crossing over either line. It sounds easy, but it isn't if you haven't done it yet. 3) Cone weave. They set cones up offset from a senter line like: '----,----'----,----'----, You must weave through them (obviously). They are offset pretty far from center (like 2 feet) and probably spaced 10-15 feet apart. 4) Figure 8 inside of a small rectangular box. This is the one that gets most people. If you put your foot down, you lose points. If you cross outside the box, you lose points. I believe that is it. If you put your feet down, you lose points. If you drop your bike, you fail automatically. I HIGHLY recommend you take the MSF class - you get to use their bikes (125 or 250 ccs) and practice the course for basically two days. On the final day you actually take the test (using their bikes). I couldn't get signed up, so instead I sat in on the class on Wednesday. They have a lottery so that if someone doesn't show up for the wednesday class, they draw numbers of 'standbys'. Unfortunately I didn't get drawn, but I still sat in the class - if someone doesn't show on Saturday morning when they being the actual riding they will let you take their place. Come Saturday morning, 3 people didn't show up, so I was in. If you do get in, do NOT be late. They give you like 3 minutes or so extra, but if you show up 10 minutes past the start time, you will not be allowed in.

And yet we live in a society whereby the court system is 'innocent until proven guilty'. -

The problem is some states use them to ticket drivers who go through yellow lights as well. I don't run red-lights either, but I do get caught going through the occasional yellow. How long do you think before Ohio will try to do the same? -
SCAMMER! (j/k) Can you post links?

I like this quote: "They assume, I guess, that we can photograph into the car and that we have a database of every licensed driver in the state - if the driver is from the state," said Cleveland City Councilman Jay Westbrook, reached at his office. "It just doesn't seem feasible." No, they aren't assuming shit. They want you to PROVE the motorist guilty, instead of making the motorist prove their innocence. It's 'the way our system is supposed to work' you fucking toolbag. Revenue generator. End of story. -
You'll win. I'm guessing she bought it to 'look cute in'. They are PITA to launch because of wheel-hop from the IRS.

Should have just inserted a pic of some boobies for him.
