the bike does have a rebuilt salvage title, i really did forget that in my first post as everywhere else i have the bike posted i did put it in there. i had someone Carfax it and it reports no frame damage! i edited my first post and added the title. don't want the caddy or a honda.
  2. i did it a few weeks ago.....its by far the loudest thing i have ever blown up and that encludes a trash bag with oxy acetline (sp?)
  3. don't have to remove the cross member, the linkage is on the out side and its only a lever the cable attaches to, craw under it and you will see what i'm talking about.
  4. pretty easy to do and not too expensive. but it doesn't sound like its a transmission problem
  5. sounds like the shifter cable adjuster came loose if it has one, or the end broke off or the cable its self broke.

    anybody wanna make an offer?
  11. bill, does the engine really turn off or are they just thinking it does because the tach shows 0 RPM? there is no way a car will start back up by its self let alone be in gear and restart. kind of sounds like a BCM problem, 1999-2001 were not good years for GM for BCM's. prolly has noting to do with the a/c being on just considence that it is when it happens.
  12. kinda sounds like there is 2 problems, sounds like the starter needs shimed for a binding issue and second not getting the required voltage and/or amps to engauge the solenoid. seeing how its an 89' i would replace the cables if you have not already done so and wire in a ford starter relay. just run the battery cables to the one side of the relay insted of the starter and on the starter hook the solenoid lead to the battery + so when the relay is engauged it sends power to both the starter motor and the solenoid. it might be easier to just get the battery cable kit from jegs and make your own cables with the soder ends.
