well they had 4.3L in boats and you didn't say if it was V8 or V6. post a picture of the top of the engine so i can see it. what you need to do is check power going to the coil. should be a pink wire if you have the engine i think you do.

just take the bell houseing bolts out and pull them apart. the converter will stay on the flex plate.

i have a set of rear tires for it. toyo proxy t1r in the 295's. i'll make you a awesome deal on the two. they have 9/32" tread, new they are 10/32" i had them on my car and liked them alot, these were from when i had 295's on the front before i got my race slicks.

or you could get emry cloth in strips and sand the air gap between the pulley and the clutch to get rid of the rust thats more likely causing the noise. -

those lifters are only pressureized when the solenoid is on. so if it was leaking then the lifter would work as normal and would not enter dod mode. you should just cut the dod cover before you jack your car all up. also the LS1 intake flows like crap, find a LS6 intake if you want to make more power.

will the LS2 intake not fit over the DOD valley cover? it doesn't help performance so whats the point of taking it off? if you want to fix it swap the DOD lifters for the normal style lifter. have to take the heads off to do it though.

stainless is hard to drill so don't assume quick/simple. aluminum and stainless are two metals that should never be put together.
