Having served in the military and in still doing work for the DoD/Military I can guarantee you most of the people on the ground over there don't really know what's going on and most of the people here only hear what they want to hear.

I buy a ton of stuff from Woot. The mail lady even asked my wife to thank me for helping keeping them employed. The added bonus is I get access to deals.woot.com also before most since it's in beta. One of my coworkers was bitching yesterday because he couldn't get in.

Did you even read the list? How many of those are a result of us being in Iraq or Afghanistan? My response is similar to Justin's. These types of things were executed and "thwarted" before 9/11 also.
