  1. I don't care if he had an affair or just banged some random chick. That's between him and his wife. Not everyone treats sex as some big emotional attachment thing.
  2. Timelines are results based. Maybe it's better said, SHOULD be results based. They just don't make up some magic number. The target date, like with anything you set a timeline for, is based upon the amount of time it takes to accomplish a task or set of tasks. Of course when you hit the checkpoints or end dates you have decisions to make. Those decisions may be to alter schedule, or resources, or whatever maybe necessary to properly affect a plan. I haven't been happy with his tone on a lot of things. There are things he needs to taken a much stronger tone with. Of course theres plenty I disagree with him on but unless he steps it up the democrats are going to waste time dreaming about unicorns and the republicans are going to continue to be obstructionists.
  3. to the board! How do you like that Versys?
  4. It's a target date and those bad guys are supposedly why we are there. If the bad guy can just hide until we leave, he'll do that no matter how long we stay. During that time they will just get better and better at getting around security forces that are there. In the mean time there will be no incentive for the local governments to do anything on their own with no "drop dead" date.
  5. You guys do seem to have some dick traffic cops up there. I've had nothing but decent experience with the ones down here.
  6. This won't happen. There's a million threads on this subject from all over where laws are more strict than this. There's an easily distinguishable difference between things like unintentionally chirping your tires and "peeling out." This isn't anything new for law enforcement.
  7. 490 days on a driving range would be tough. I don't image it's comfortable to sleep on.
  8. Wonder how much time Obama will spend at the Ranch.
  9. Yeah I saw that one on POTN. I was hoping someone here grab a shot. I'm on POTN as much as I'm on here and definitely more in the colder months.
  10. Yeah I kind of wish he had just ponied up the 40k (over 12 months) also, but... he is requesting support from other countries. If they can fill the gaps to fulfill the request then it should be all good.
  11. If you need any tips on laying her down or just completely destroying her let me know. It's surprisingly easy. Just here to help.
  12. That year and color crashes really well.
  13. Yup you're right I found it. I hadn't read slowly enough through the bottom part. Stupid job trying to make me work and all. This doesn't read out of the norm though., "© Any exhibition of speed or acceleration that is inconsistent with the normal operation of a vehicle on a public road, street, or highway." That's the type of phrasing I thought has always been used. I'll have to read and see if there's something else I'm missing. The part I find a little too vague is the section on nitrous. I'm not sure, "use nitrous oxide in a motor vehicle that the person operates on a public road, street, or highway in this state." is defined well enough. What does "use" mean in this case? Actual use of the nitrous or merely installing it?
  14. If I had more time I would read through the whole thing, but don't the changes surround seriously injuring or killing someone. Are there changes to the standard code for street racing as just a violation? Maybe I just missed it.
  15. I'm assuming you are referring to me as one of that "posse." First, I sit in the middle. Second, I'm pretty sure you have now idea what a logical argument is if you've read this thread and come to that conclusion. I realize you guys are your typical partisan dip shits that don't care about actual facts, but come one at least put a little thought behind.
  16. really now? http://www.data360.org/dsg.aspx?Data_Set_Group_Id=763 Just how many troops were sent in that surge?
  17. You realize the president doesn't know every thing that goes on right? It would be impossible. No president can. One of his staff approved it as it says in your quote. I damn well bet any other staffer under any other president would have to. AF1 is shot all the time in different locations. Frankly I wouldn't consider it a mistake. A little insensitive to New Yorkers...maybe. Everyone and their mother was notified it was going to happen.
  18. How many years since the start? How many years after we declared mission accomplished? Oh yeah there was a timeline set to pull out of Iraq. By the Bush Administration. Mid last year. Gee maybe because they released they needed at least some target date or date range to pull out by to pressure the Iraqi's a bit more...
  19. Because it's an artificial scandal nothing but a bunch of political brouhaha. I've been through a deal of it along with a few others I know. We're geeks so part of it was fun. It ends up being a big eye roll and a 'Are you serious?' There's nothing in there to make a big deal about. Unless of course you can discount every other model that shows similar results to that one as well. What's that you say? There's good number of centers running their own models showing similar results? This isn't the only one? What's a peer review? I'll leave this here in case you're bored as well. It's a decent explanation of the 'Fudge Factor' http://www.jgc.org/blog/2009/11/very-artificial-correction-flap-looks.html
  20. I think it was easy to guess who from that thread.

  21. Air Force One over New York wasn't Obama's doing. Not sure how you can pin that on him. It's his first year in office after a rather ummm.. active Bush presidency. You don't think the media is going to be all over him no matter what he does. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't on both sides. Seems like petty crap to me. Of course Bush's visit on Thanksgiving in 2003 had to be planned in secret. It's not exactly stable over there. He took a risk and went. Props to him for that. ...or I could be like you guys and say, 'Wow I noticed all the photos of him over there. Nice photo op to look like a good guy after sending troops over to die in a needless war.' Give me a break. There has to be a timeline. It's golden rule of doing anything. If you want to have a chance to succeed, you have to set a target date. It doesn't matter if it's installing a new toilet or major military operation. Setting a date for completion is a golden rule for being able to plan for success. Otherwise no one is in a hurry to get anything done. That's especially true when you have to rely on a third party, in this case Afghanistan, to do something. Without a timeline there would be zero incentive to do anything. No target date means never having to be finished. Not setting a date also shows poor planning and lack of confidence in execution. Now if we don't jump in someone's shit after that date has come to pass with no real reason for missing it...I'll be pissed as hell.
