  1. They are a pretty sturdy. I might not go into combat with em on the gun, but for range use/3gun type stuff they are fine.
  2. Did anyone else catch that? Please note there was no creative editing here.
  3. No, the mags aren't illegal. It's inserting the mag into a semi-auto gun that makes it an "automatic weapon" per ORC. ORC 2923.11 "“Automatic firearm” means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. “Automatic firearm” also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges." Insert 40rd AK mag into AK, its now been adapted to fire more than 31 rds regardless of how many you load. The law says adapted not capable.
  4. While no one actually cares what you think, yes having the definition of a destructive device or machine gun be based upon magazine capacity is dumb.
  5. Any firearm capable of firing more than 31 rounds without reloading is a no no in ohio without a tax stamp (technically a MG tax stamp, but an sbr was a gray area that now has some case law supporting it).
  6. I'd pull that pic down as that drum mag isn't legal in that gun without a tax stamp.
  7. Wow. I remember George from when he used to post on TFL 10-14 years ago.
  8. Verizon 4G in Akron, 21m down, 14m up has been the best I've gotten.
  9. I'm still waiting on him to take me up on the $1000 bet with his AK that can outshoot any AR-15 out there. I wouldn't hold your breathe.
  10. I'm going to have to get together with you and get any embarrassing photos or video you have. We can only catch him doing dumb stuff at work so often, so historical things for our presentations would be awesome.
  11. Yea after the fact I figured I probably should've given you my screenname. I'm still simply amazed at how smoothly everything went for a first year event, made our lives as staff much easier. I'm already looking forward to next year. I'm thinking about giving a talk on Applied Ballistics for the Zombie Apocalypse
  12. You just bought that shit from Hak5 because the chick at the booth was a hottie in a sea of nerds, admit it.
  13. I'm still waiting to hear back from the range owner, I was supposed to several days ago and I've been too busy to continue playing phone tag. Let's just go ahead and call this off. Perhaps we try again in the spring.
  14. Double booked. I've been busy and so has Tom @ TVP, so its been phone tag. I have a feeling (hope) that the conflicting event isn't going to pan out anyway.
  15. I highly doubt you have a 5-7 stage action pistol course setup in your backyard, but have fun. For the rest of you, Briar Rabbit puts on a hell of a good pistol shoot.
  16. FYI guys. We might have a scheduling conflict with TVP. I'll be speaking with Tom tonight, but we may need to push the date back a week.
  17. Mark told me to get a McCree, but I don't care for them that much. I'd consider an AX but I didn't think they were all that readily available, plus they retail for a good 400-500 more than the AICS 2.0. If I find myself unhappy with the AICS, I'll probably try the XLR, KWM stock or AX next.
  18. Just put a new AI stock on order for the .308 and I just might have something quiet in 300 BLK by the time of the shoot.
  19. I think there are 3 total now, but I could be mistaken. Sarver was talking about getting one in 300 Hulk for shits n grins.
  20. Shoot some FMJ, see how it functions, then try the HP's. If it fails, polish the feed ramp carefully and try HP again. If it still fails, send back to ruger. In the meantime, use Corbon Pow'r Ball ammo.
  21. I may be interested, depends on how my Friday evening looks and if I want to put the wear on the tire (waiting on a new one).
