  1. And it was 223 pressure blackhills 77. The mk262 ammo they are selling commercially now is a good 100-150fps faster.
  2. It was a 12" steel plate (maybe 14, it was flounders). Scope was a 6-24x. I shot it somewhere around 18-20x. No holding, its a target/tactical scope, so just dialed 8.4 mils, made a wind call and dialed, and clang goes the steel.
  3. Nice, sub-machinegun with what appears to be some sort of baby gear/toy in the background. That'll make the hippies cry !
  4. You need to learn to answer your phone!
  5. You mean his expensive pile of AR parts Apparently I need to show my face at TVP more often. Got a call from Ben asking for some help with suppressor paperwork which turned into harassing me for being MIA the past 2 months.
  6. Medina. Cleaver and I met him in a bar last fall. Nice guy.
  7. FWIW, I stored and used mine properly, and it fell apart, literally, after 18 months of minor bike maintenance.
  8. I'm pretty sure mine was $2200-2300 before glass. With 556 pressure rounds with 77gr SMK's, I think we can stretch that usable range out to at least 950 if not 1000. My scope has 9 mils of adjustment up from zero, 850 was 8.4 mils and right on the edge of it being transonic. In theory, we could squeezean extra 150-200 fps out of the higher pressure round, no idea how that'll work in practice. Not bad for a 600 yard gun.
  9. Be careful. Nick is a bit of an asshole, he forces people to take ambulance rides If I'm not leaving for vacation that day, I may just put my track bike back together and make it out. It's still in pieces from my trip to ACC last fall.
  10. Another vote for the 760. I had one growing up and its pretty good for the price. Somehow mine went missing in the past couple of years, so I went and bought another on Sunday to wage a mini-war against this freakin woodpecker that keeps waking me up prematurely for the past week.
  11. In all fairness, it's been 7 years since I've been there on a regular basis, so the statement was a bit of hyperbole for sure. However, what i did witness then was pretty poor. I'll pm you full details.
  12. Having seen the aftermath of osu pd using the range, I'm not so sure we should let those guys carry on campus. disclaimer: rumor at the time is there were a few high speed shooter types, but they shot somewhere off campus with another pd's swat guys.
  13. You need to, especially before we start publically shaming you for not coming. Don't worry though, there is another guy with a GAP built rifle and the words sniper and a common rifle caliber in his screen name that will remain nameless, that has promised to come only to be too hungover on 2 different occasions. Not that I'm judging. Not sure if you'd take 224,62 or 76 to get over to 77, but I can meet you somewhere in that area and drive the rest of the way.
  14. Their retail price is pretty reasonable for a LRF that will do a mile, I'd hate to know what "helluva deal" is, it'll probably make me hate you more.
  15. If yours shoots better, we're swapping barrels.
  16. Those Fusion's are pretty nice, I think I tried them out the same day as you.
  17. Yea the PST fucking rocks. I about cried when it got scraped up by falling over. To be quiet honest, I don't think it'll be on the AR for long, it'll probably get moved to the 308.
  18. And here is the other toy we played with....
  19. Here is my newest toy. Specs: Sun Devil Billet Upper/Lower White Oak Armament Squad Designated Marksman Barrel 20" 7 twist Giessele Super Dynamic - Enhanced Trigger VTAC TRX Extreme Handguard Magpul PRS Stock Magpul MIAD Grip Larue SPR-S scope mount Vortex Viper PST 6-24 FFP mil/mil scope Kawi and I took it out to Thunder Valley Precision last weekend to try it out. We zeroed it and used the drop chart I made with guesstimate of muzzle velocity and some time with the JBM ballistic calculator and got some dope from 100-600 yards. We both shot it Sunday in the "short course" match (170-550yards). I was getting pretty consistent first round hits on 12x12 targets out to 550 yards, even in the 25+mph winds we were shooting in. Kawi did pretty well for his first time shooting "long range" especially given a new to him gun, and the nasty wind that day. All in all it was a pretty successful range weekend. Minus the 35mph gust that blew the rifle over on the concrete bench and marred the scope prior to even firing the damned thing.
  20. Do you do code reviews on every app on your phone? If not, then I'd think twice about that statement. Lots of apps record data or access other parts of your phone that they have no reason to do, and do so without your knowledge.
  21. Shouldn't that last line have been "Now If I could only get out and shoot with the guys from OR at TVP...." ?
  22. Must've just been the operator then!
