  1. and enter asian kid with CNC equipment I can abuse.
  2. I'm thinking I may form 1 a 22 can in the spring (if I can con Mark or one of my machine shop owning extended family members to help me). I'd do a monocore type baffle/stainless (or Ti) tube, similar to the new sparrow but I'd like it to be shorter.
  3. Probably not. However, Holiday spirit and all, we'll at least put it up to a vote. We accept bribes in the form of Black Hills match 308 ammo.
  4. I can't wait to try mark's full auto 22 with my spectre. Actually, I'd like to shoot your form 1 can and the spectre back to back to compare.
  5. Unless you want to be a total man-whore like Cleave, then a restaurant isn't so bad.
  6. I'll be down your way doing paperwork FYI
  7. I know they've had some QC issues with the sig over the years, but I'd go for it over the other one. It's my second choice (with a gemtech threaded barrel) for a suppressor host. Plus Woodburys has them on sale for $249 tomorrow.
  8. Is that the 22 glock clone? If so I've not heard great reviews. Tactical solutions has a glock 22 conversion coming out that will no doubt be pretty awesome. I hear the Advantage Arms ones are ok.
  9. I'll be sending it in next week after I get back from deer hunting. Still waiting on that first form 4
  10. I'm looking to pick up the tactical gsg 1911 to run as a suppressor host. If I don't like it I'll be going Tacical Solutions 1911 22 threaded upper on an RIA 1911 frame or something of that sort.
  11. As much as it pains me to agree with douchenozzle here, he's right. Hell, flounder and I have both hit 12" steel at 150 yards with his glock 27. It was actually easier with our buddy's ruger mark2. That said, I'm still not much of a fan of the p22, even tho I'll probably own one eventually for a suppressor host (but not until I have a tacol glock conversion, gsg1911 and a sig mosquito)
  12. I demo'd the spectre with a borrowed p22. It's too small and of the dozen or so I've shot, only 25% were reliable from the factory. I'll pass.
  13. hmm, I might pickup that sig mosquito with red dot if the sale price is right. Of course, it'll still need the aftermarket Gemtech barrel...
  14. Nice route, you'll literally go right past my great great uncle's cabin. He's on 258, watch out for buggies and trucks on that section of road. I'd be in, but its customer appreciate day at Thunder Valley and I'm going shooting.
  15. Actually its not that bad. I've done it via a Trust, so basically its a $200 check, fill out the paperwork, and hurry up and wait. I have a .22 can on order and that'll be it for this year. I might do an SBR and an SBS next year.
  16. $200 and the hassle of having to deal with the ATF.
  17. I had a 590 and it was awesome. I'm using a Benelli M1super90 now, jury is still out. I might switch to a 20" 11-87 police if I can find one. I'm also toying with the idea of getting a Saiga and filling a form 1 so I can cut the barrel down to 12" or so.
  18. in I was sooooooo close to putting "zombies" instead of "for all lawful purposes" on the ATF Form 4 for my suppressor. I might try it on the next one just to see if they have a sense of humor.
  19. Now now. I refrained from doing that to yours, you can at least return the courtesy. Mark thought I was kidding when I told him about what you did to Lizard's bike when on display at the pony.
  20. McM A5 and probably bottom metal. Maybe bed the 30moa base too.
  21. Yea, its on the list. That'll be my winter project.......after it comes back from Mark.
  22. Also, if that seems a bit intimidating, you can contact Tom (range owner) and tell him you are new and see about showing up early and having someone chrono your load and help you with a drop chart. Here is his contact info Tom Sarver Thunder Valley Precision 07FFL/SOT2 15786 TR.118 Kimbolton, Ohio 43749 info@thundervalleyprecision.com 740-502-6530
  23. Don't worry about being a noob,we'll help you out. For the MOA adjustments, basically you'll want to use a ballistic calculator to create a drop chart/range card. That will tell you what adjustments to dial in for the specific range of the target, or for the wind conditions. I use JBM ballistics. www.jbmballistics.com You'll need some basic data to use it. Muzzle velocity (or at least a best guess), bullet type (ie sierra 175 SMK), and the height of the center of your scope above the bore axis. Plug these into the webpage and you can create a chart based upon a 100 yard zero. There is also an option for you to plug in the specific ranges of targets. I'd do both, one as a generic range card and one for Thunder Valley. Target ranges are Position 1 223 390 550 348 Position 2 280 420 365 550 Position 3 170 280 500 475
