  1. Load a heavy bullet that your gun can stabilize with only enough powder to get it going just under the sound barrier, shoot in a gun with a can. Now get to it.
  2. It's called a vacation day. Apparently my boss thinks shooting my new suppressor is a perfectly good reason to take a day off.
  3. Bah. This is gonna force my lazy ass to get some 308 reloading dies I just know it.
  4. How about you load up some FL sized subsonics and show up to TVP say mid day on Friday I'm gonna spend the day playing with my new can, maybe help a buddy get some good dope for his DMPS SASS.
  5. Yep. Seriously tho, you can go watch. Spectators are welcome, just remember to bring hearing protection. Usually there is a spare spotting scope or set of binoculars that you can watch the targets in. It's pretty cool to stand there, hear a suppressed rifle go off, spotter call a hit, then a second later hear the steel ring.
  6. I really should've used that excuse today, it was bad.
  7. In theory you could come, but I'm pretty sure there is a pretty firm no douchebaggery allowed rule. Flounder gets charged double for that reason.
  8. It's pretty entertaining. If you got points for creative use of profanity while shooting we'd win EVERY time.
  9. You got it all wrong. I was shooting the 935 target (875 # is wrong fyi) with dope from a whole different shooting point. I'm pretty sure it was 670. And for those of you that are dense, flounder actually can shoot, I'm just giving him shit since I usually score higher than he does despite the fact that I shoot at targets with the wrong dope.
  10. FYI, you two sniper types ought to come shoot with us at Thunder Valley sometime before the "season" there finishes. Also, looks like some of us Ohio folk are going to shoot the ASC match in the spring.
  11. Rumor has it he can, just apparently not when I show up He's a fucking terrible spotter too
  12. I'll beg to differ on that. Reloads are fine as they never involve the charging handle, failures would be a different story, but there are drills for that. To be quite honest, the side charging handle is a niche thing and not necessary if you learn proper techniques.
  13. I'll give you $250 and I'll let you kick jbot in the nuts.
  14. I will be staying home on the 28th as I will be doing labor day weekend at Autobahn.
  15. You'll be fine. Keep in mind, there are harley's that ride in the Open group, and if you can't pass them I will mock you forever.
  16. I recall some fastrax folks commenting that 1:20's (meaning 1:20-1:29) was WAY too fast for novice at Beaver. Now, I think thats a load of crap, but I also think 1:05 minimum at beaver for Advanced is a load of crap. You have to remember its a track day, not a race. Most folks will agree that A group trackday pace should be off race pace somewhat. In fact, a buddy of mine was coaching someone at the Beaver day last fall and while running 1:12's they were literally passing everyone in Open. To the OP, try Open, get with a coach, and if you feel in over your head after a session or two, drop back down to Novice. There is no way Todd wouldn't accommodate you if you felt out of place in Open.
  17. Also, watch out for the guy with the blue van and the yellow 09 R1. I don't care what he tells you, there is no candy in the van....
  18. Look for a Racist Asian on a yellow/black 600rr and a goofy lookin fucker on an orange/black 636. They'll take care of you.
  19. I like mine, with the exception that it was too slippery. I have the same pattern in that photo and without fail I would slide down to the tank. I've finally worked that out more or less and its way better than stock. In retrospect, I should've just paid the extra for a new one in standard leather vs the weaved vinyl pattern I got on ebay.
  20. Let me know who the interview is with. I might still know a few people in that department with whom I could put in a good word.
  21. Alaska had a permit system in place for a long time, and last I checked, kept it in place despite not being required for that very situation.
  22. Jason does great work, but he's notoriously slow. Like APCh8r said, he's had some serious business/personal issues in the past year and if you could get ahold of him, I wouldn't recommend it at this time. Go with any of the 3 that Brian mentioned and it'll be worth every penny
  23. I think you are missing the point. The federal gov has certain enumerated powers and aren't supposed to have any more than that, the rest is reserved to the states and the people. However, that same document that lays it all out says certain things the feds or the states can't mess with, period. The second amendment is one of those. It's not a fuck the fed when its convenient, its fuck the fed when they overstep their bounds. In this case it was the state/local gov overstepping their bounds. The only part of this that is bullshit is the long standing precedent of the Supreme Court deciding if a constitutionally protected right is "incorporated" to the states or not. They've continued to fuck up the 14th amendment with this decision by ignoring the privileges or immunities clause. Only Thomas seemed to get it in this decision.
