  1. Also, individuals have the option of just shooting the short or just shooting the long.
  2. The match will be held on this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. sharp! This event will be shooting both the short course (550 yards and under) and the long course (275 to 1165 yards) You will need about 100 rounds of ammo to shoot both courses. Extra shooting after the match is the norm here so bring more if you wish. Make sure to bring food and water for yourself which we can transport it in the range vehicles. Match fee is $20.00 for members, $30.00 for non-members Make sure your bolt is out of your rifle. Match is free for spectators. Make sure to have ear protection. All new shooters welcome and we will help you along the way. I'll be attending Sunday. There is a match with the same format Saturday too.
  3. Because thats the way the wrote the law. When it originally passed, it was worded to discourage carry in the car under the guise of officer safety, this is a vast improvement.
  4. Yes, I did giggle like a 12 year old girl. I'm going to buy some components to load up some subsonics. I'd like to mess around with the lapua 200 gr bullet, but its twice the cost of a hornady or sierra 180, and per JBM, doesn't really do any better.
  5. Well I might as well post it before he does... Flounder actually shot well enough to beat me today. Thats ok though, because the group consensus was that my suppressor was quieter. Rawlins, There are matches pretty much every weekend up to Oct 16/17. After that it will close for deer season and reopen when the owner has killed bambi.
  6. If you have a gun suitable for this, you really ought to come. Fazer1sniper, this means you!
  7. Match fee is $30 for non-members, $20 for members. 3 of us forum members are shooting, and I think a few more are coming to spectate (jbot, kawi kid, kzz21). For $5, after the match we'll hold kawi and you can kick him in the nuts.
  8. It looks like flounder and I are leaning towards Saturday. You should skip that cookout, and bring the full auto stuff you mentioned a while back.
  9. ok, my dope is on it. If I recall, you are using BH 175, so if your GAP is a 24" bbl and your scope is in mils, it'll at least get you ballpark. Otherwise chrono that and hit a ballistic calc.
  10. Yea, about that, I'd just go ahead and buy some 175 gr blackhills and borrow my gun. The last PSL I shot wouldn't even have faired ok on the short course. Of course, since you are rolling in last minute .gov contract money, I'm more than willing to help you spend it on a nice target rifle. I'm thinking .308 AR is about your style.
  11. In addition to shooting, it looks like we're also having a kegger at Brian's house!
  12. Sunday the 26th? I'll likely be there. Let me know for sure, and I can send you an excel that has the shooting positions and target distances for you to enter your dope into.
  13. So when are you going to bring your toys and come play down there with us?
  14. Hell I've not even started the transfer to me yet. Fortunately, the owner of thunder valley is an ffl/sot, so when I'm there I can "visit" with it.
  15. POI shift was .6mil up and .4 R. Usually they shift down. Kinda cool because I get more elevation use out of the scope.
  16. I know you have a pretty swell range already (at least thats what Alan S. says, but who can trust a hippy like him), but you really ought to come check this place out.
  17. Suppressed Armament Systems Arbiter Ti
  18. While shooting subs has quite the giggle factor (literally, I giggled like a little kid the first time I shot flounder's with subs), the noise reduction with supersonic ammo is pretty impressive. Hell, I just shot my suppressor for the first time today and I'd be just as pleased even if I never shot it subsonic.
  19. FWIW, That's a good price and these are AWESOME cameras.
  20. Personally, I'd get that barrel threaded first before I worried about subsonic loads. Actually, I'd replace it with a varmint contour threaded barrel. Yes, it will throw your scope off. If I recall, Flounder had enough elevation travel in his scope to get to 1000 yards (prior to barrel cut), but with subsonic I think he only could get to 350 or so.
  21. Depends on the round you are trying to load subsonic for. Typically, it's a slower burning powder that will also take up more volume by weight.
  22. Actually, what I posted was pretty spot on, simplified for sure, but accurate. obviously, you'll want to start with a recommended or published load.
