Do you have the choke fully in the on position? If so I would crank it for a few secounds, then let it sit for about 20-30 secounds to allow the fuel to vaporize, then I'd crank it again for like 5-10 secounds, and repeat until the bike starts. Sometimes it's difficult to start a carburearted bike when the weather is cold because the bike is generally tuned to run when the temp is warmer. The fuel does not vaporize as well when it's cold out. Making it hard to start, and it will probally run a little rough until the engine warms up.

Need a couple of folding tables & tranny stand
grease monkey replied to MrMeanGreen's topic in Dumpster
Honestly I would not recomend that you're tranny rebuild be done in your garage. One little spec of nothing in the rebuilt unit coulde easily spedlll disaster. In professional shops they use clean rooms,. like you'd see in a hospital operating roon to rebuild trannys. If you insist on it, I wish ya luck, and may god be on your side. -
I think it's a realitatively common problem on all modern vehicles. I'm no engineer, nor do I really care all that much cause it's an easy fix, but it's just from the gunk that seems to cling the inside of intake manifolds. After time it builds up and gets pretty bad. I've seen on MANY fords, and toyotas, and GMs, and dodges, and hondas, and suzukis, and everything on the market, that it will eventually clog up the EGR passage as well. Then you'll get a fucking "no EGR flow dected" code. It all pretains the same gunk thats clogging up your throttle body. Sea Foam is your friend.

Also, a radiator calmp is heavier on one side than than the other. That could possiably cause a vibration in the drive train. I realize that this is true of a c/v clamp as well, but the weight difference is negligiable compared to that of the radiator clamp.

I never had to do any figure test, I took mine at the west broad location. There was a sweeping left turn, take off fast, stop in shortest distance, Obstacle avoidance, ( just get moving at like 15 or so, and turn sharply at the last moment to avoid a painted line). Cone weave, and a sweeping right. There was no figure 8 box or anything however.

gay, all these fucking rules and regulations, it's gonna get to the point that if you want to test and tune, you're gonna need 1000 bucks or more in safety equipment just fuck around with your daily driver. This shit has fucking got to stop. Safety is one thing, but come on!! -

Thats cool, I wasn't trying to make anyone upset, or anything. I still think it's an odd transmission. I do know how they work and what their purpose was. But hell, as long as it works, GO FOR IT!!!

Got this off of myspace, true or not, it's good for a laugh.... (AP) -- Women who perform the act of fellatio and swallow semen on a regular basis, one to two times a week, may reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 40 percent, a North Carolina State University study found. Doctors had never suspected a link between the act of fellatio and breast cancer, but new research being performed at North Carolina State University is starting to suggest that there could be an important link between the two. In a study of over 15,000 women suspected of having performed regular fellatio and swallowed the ejaculatory fluid, over the past ten years, the researchers found that those actually having performed the act regularly, one to two times a week, had a lower occurance of breast cancer than those who had not. There was no increased risk, however, for those who did not regularly perform. "I think it removes the last shade of doubt that fellatio is actually a healthy act," said Dr. A.J. Kramer of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, who was not involved in the research. "I am surprised by these findings, but am also excited that the researchers may have discovered a relatively easy way to lower the occurance of breast cancer in women." The University researchers stressed that, though breast cancer is relatively uncommon, any steps taken to reduce the risk would be a wise decision. "Only with regular occurance will your chances be reduced, so I encourage all women out there to make fellatio an important part of their daily routine," said Dr. Helena Shifteer, one of the researchers at the University. "Since the emergence of the research, I try to fellate at least once every other night to reduce my chances." The study is reported in Friday's Journal of Medical Research. In 1991, 43,582 women died of breast cancer, as reported by the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Len Lictepeen, deputy chief medical officer for the American Cancer Society, said women should not overlook or "play down" these findings. "This will hopefully change women's practice and patterns, resulting in a severe drop in the future number of cases," Lictepeen said. Sooner said the research shows no increase in the risk of breast cancer in those who are, for whatever reason, not able to fellate regularly. "There's definitely fertile ground for more research. Many have stepped forward to volunteer for related research now in the planning stages," he said. Almost every woman is, at some point, going to perform the act of fellatio, but it is the frequency at which this event occurs that makes the difference, say researchers. Also key seems to be the protein and enzyme count in the semen, but researchers are again waiting for more test data. The reasearch consisted of two groups, 6,246 women ages 25 to 45 who had performed fellatio and swallowed on a regular basis over the past five to ten years, and 9,728 women who had not or did not swallow. The group of women who had performed and swallowed had a breast cancer rate of 1.9 percent and the group who had not had a breast cancer rate of 10.4 percent. "The findings do suggest that there are other causes for breast cancer besides the absence of regular fellatio," Shafteer said. "It's a cause, not THE cause." doctors orders

Brian, I passed (first time) it on a 1989 Honda Shadow 1100. It's a big ass crusier bike. No turning radius, and difficult to handle at low speeds due to being a heftier machine, not too mention I'm a little hefty too. They say the smaller the bike the better though. I watched a kid on a gixxer 750 with temp tags drop it during the cone weave, and they failed him instantly. Kinda felt bad for him, but really didn't. He couldn't even reach the ground from the bike unless he tilted it to the side pretty far. As long as you can turn almost at lock, left or right, and do it really slow, without hitting the ground with the bike or your feet, you should be ok.

You may also want to check the water level in the battery, most bike batteries are the old maintenance required type. If it's low just go to the grocery store and buy some distilled water. Using the distilled water fill the cells up to the required level.

Getting your Temps?Did you pass on the first try?
grease monkey replied to fooswinger's topic in Daily Ride
I passed on the first try, rode the bike for a few months, sold the bike got a MUCH bigger bike, went and took the riding portion of the test on a shadow 1100, if it's possiable to pass on a big ass heavy crusier bike, with no turning radius, and the damn cones were spaced at my wheel base, damn near anyone should be able to pass. When I took the riding portions, everyone passed, except for one kid on a gixxer 750, he dropped it during the cone weave. I kinda felt bad for him, the damn bike was brand new, still had the temp tags on it. I think he dropped it cause the bike was too tall for him. -
My bike is totaled and I am Never riding again.
