  1. Resale is better too.

I was going to get a new one for a daily beater, but too pricey. Ended up with another Abarth, not sure your budget but those are cheap new too.

The Mini feels 100 times larger than the Fiat interior wise, and the S feels like a "car" when you toss it around (I attribute to much larger wheels.tires/suspension. The Fiat feels like an oversized Little Tikes cart.

Its odd how different they drive really. No idea on price and resale between the 2.

  2. Linn that post was for jp.

If your close to hoover then your close to alum creek.

Alum creek is alot better to swim in then buckeye lake.

Lol, that is NOT the reality of pontoon boating.. this is.

Hell the OP said he liked this one for god's sake!!

Looking at that thing, I am surprised they don't require an AARP car to buy it,

  3. So is the way with new boaters. Everyone wants a floating porch

Yes, that's not a boat. That's a set of floats with a deck.

IMO pontoon boating is not boating at all. Its like owning a Prius and calling yourself a car guy.

I have owned a few boats-I have been lucky to at least break even on all of them. But if you have never owned one I would rent or go out with a buddy a few times, and see if its for you. If you dock it, its a big expense. If you trailer it, its a big pain in the ass. If its a boat work a fuck, it will suck down gas like a savage. Its like a hot hooker-looks great on paper but you always feel remorse immediately after use.

  4. Sorry your policy does not cover aircraft collisions sir. LOL

Guy had a hard time finding someone to exchange info with at the scene I bet.

    Too soon! LOL

Funny enough HOI does not cover aircraft or helicopter strikes.

I have a rental close to the airport, and I actually have a aircraft or airborne debris (Meteor, UFO...ect) rider, its like $2.50 a month. :)

  5. Willing to do $750 if bought soon. If not I'll just keep em.

    I'm tempted-but

    1) its hard for me to spend near 20% of what I have in the whole car in just wheels! (not including the mickey T's I will need for the rears)

    2) Considering the size, I would really ant to test fit them-which poses some obvious problems with distance/weather ect....

  6. Kent State! Get it right!

As for wiggsesque... 4thup's dad does have a lot of money from multiple successful startups/turnarounds and has always motivated his son to work freely/independently...I don't know if there was seed money involved. I do know, that Brian (4thup) is a really nice person with a smaller ego than most. He has a passion for cars, treats people with respect, and you wouldn't know that his dad is worth a ton of money if you met him as he doesn't identify himself by the wealth of his parents.

The rest, is up for you to decide when/if you meet him.

Kent! That's right, how could I forget.

That's the most eloquent way I have even been told "Yes your right, but don't be a dick" ever. Well done! In that case, I wish him luck in his endeavors. :)

  7. My college roommate! Making it work!

Btw doc, they just moved back to CBUS

Ohio State College Grad starts a "company" in Tahoe, then moves to Columbus to follow the dope hot JDM market down here?

Is this another Wiggsesque "business" so someone can look busy while the trust fund checks roll in?

  8. Too lazy, on rc somewhere. You just have a ton of excuses, and said the summit was ultra light and then kept saying how the intake manifold was a huge advantage. Either way the summit only trapped 120, didn't think it would beat that colt. To be fair I think it was in the early stages of you swapping that turbo on it, probably wasn't a 130 car at the time.

Honestly don't-but my memory is admittedly not the best.

  9. I remember when my little 16g summit walked away from you in that car and you cried online for a solid month with excuses :)

The Auto car you bought built off Patterson here? ;) I don't remember ever racing it? Link to thread? Either way with as much as the car smoked-excuses for a 160k 1.6 car with a blown turbo losing to anything aren't even needed. :) But, I would still like to see proof of said race.

  10. Yes a 2.0 will drop right in, but plenty have made good power with the current 1.6. I think jp was trapping 130mph with a old school 300$ pte 50 trim on one of my friends old cars. .

That turbo was free, as ti was though to be blown up. ;) She smoked a bit, but worked OK.

This is that car vs.a bottom 10's@133mph DSM. This colt was still on a 1.6.

BTW, if I knew there was this much interest I would start building and flipping them again.:p

  11. Its funny people get on here and complain about folks on .gov assistance. Then tell this guy he's an idiot for walking 20 miles for a $10 an hour job.

The man takes care of what he's gotta do, hats off.

    X1000.

Although I think the Go-fund-me revolution is ridiculous as I am a survival of the fittest kind of guy, I think this should be applauded, and his likeness and story should be posted in every SSA office in America.

We cant go fund me every internet story that comes across or plates. I mean hell, my Great Grandmother raised 5 kids through the fucking great depression. She walked to work everyday, and had to lie about being married just to get the job (married women could not work in factories back then). She is now 104, and lives on her own in a single family home. Should I start a go-fund-me for her tenacity?

BTW, its up to $330k, and ends tomorrow.

  12. Isn't op asking about what engine to use for a racecar? Besides I said that this is what I have heard (which, Grant, you left that out when quoting me), I was not stating it as a fact. However you said you should be putting down about that range on you're car? I guess we can wait and see how it holds up. Fwiw, my motor for my car is getting forged internals, this will not be such an issue for me (more worried about the trans and rear end holding up).

JP, care to weigh in on this? I know you have done some budget 4g builds in the past, maybe you have some insight you can provide.

He is looking for "reliable" 650 crank HP. Why thats the number? IDK. Figure through a FWD DSM trans that 550-580whp, IMO that's a bit much to consider reliable. Also, with a 3 or 4 speed RWD trans with a lot of converter it will be a dog out of the hole unless you spray it, or use a smaller turbo to make big torque down low-both of which would severely increase the likelyhood of bending or breaking a stock rod.

Can it be done? Sure. Would it blow up within a year of real drag racing ? Likley. Would a simple drop in rod/piston combo fix this? Yes, but IMO the LS is still a better fit for a RWD Auto drag car.

Was the OP's goal basically impossible to ascertain with the title of the thread-guaranteeing a train wreck of BS opinions most of which will have no bearing on what (who knows what really) he is looking for? FUCK YES.

    'Merica

  13. Speaking as a multi-engine pilot who's gone thru a launch-related engine loss (albeit in a jet off a cat), when you lose power in a turboprop on takeoff you have like 5 seconds to execute a series of actions or you're in deep shit. Completely different animals than a jet which typically has a greater excess of power. Jet/prop has nothing to do with stall performance.

They had an engine flameout, and the plane was last inspected on Jan 26th. Expect some fallout. I'd hate to be that tech right now.

How'd you like to be the guy in the yellow taxicab? clipped its front bumper right off. wow.

On the other hand - thats number three. Are we safe now?

    What carrier were you on?
