^^^NOT trying to cause drama. Jeff and I have been going there almost twice a month since it opened up. I never had any intention of not going there anymore. I'm simply inviting the rest of the group out for socialization if they'd like to come.

Kreator (aka Jeffy Poo) and I are going to BWR on Thursday b/t 6 and 7pm for some wings. I know there are some issues with one of the previous employees there BUT I still have friends that work there too. I'm putting the offer out there to see if anybody else wants to come on out too. I know....these type of separations in a relationship either make you or break you. My brother was in Iraq for a year and his wife was fine. It was very hard for them both but they are much happier now and really appreciate one another more. Plus, they both grew as individuals during this time. I always worked with one of the geriatric fellows a couple of months back. She was finally done and took an attending position in Charlotte back were her husband was who did IT work. They had been apart an entire year with only one weekend a month and they did just fine. You guys will do great too Kosmo!

I'll try MJ. It just depends on if any new consults come through that takes longer than expected. I'm about 98% sure that I'll come though. Plus I've never eaten there. I hope it's good.

WEll the place I stayed was Princess Grand Sunset. One of the best vacations I've ever had. Tons of nice canadians that vacation there too!

Do you HAVE to rent a motorcyle on vacation? I went to playa del carmen in july and stayed in a 5 star resort for 5 days. With airfare and all inclusive hotel it was $950. It was well worth it. Plus if you dive like I do the rates weren't that bad and it was on the private beach of the resort. Just a thought. Go to bookit.com. They have TONS of great deals.

It is always good to have this kind of knowledge under your belt Tom but I've found in personal experience that if I'm not working in this environment I tend to forget stuff. I continue to get my ACLS renewed every 2 years but let me tell you I could not remember all the algorithms for the life of me....not that in the field you'd have too unless you're actually a medic. Plus, the majority of my patients are DNRCC or DNRCCA/DNI. If anyone has children they should be obligated to take these courses! Just my 2 cents. And FYI....motorcycle vs. car...injuries are injuries and they are all responded to the same way. I believe stats (when I was a trauma nurse) were any trauma arrest only has a 7% chance of survival and IF they survive what kind of quality of life will they have? Has anyone read up on new literature regarding that? I'd be interested to know. It's not my specialty anymore.

I'm a nurse practitioner but I currently work in palliative medicine (meaning my patient population has a life limiting illness already) thus my skills are a bit dusty although I have thumped on a few chests in my time:D. I used to work as an RN prior to becoming a CNP at grant hospital which is a level one trauma center. I don't go on rides tho on twisties anymore but the other medical professionals that do are more than qualified to handle CPR, Cspine, etc prior to arrival of medics.
