  1. Quick and easy detour that shouldn't be extremely busy... http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=211107090297552226361.0004bb0ddf208a14a207c&msa=0&ll=36.408573,-83.946533&spn=0.584666,1.489334
  2. I've been here two years, next time you're here send me a message. This past weekend I was in KY riding though. So that may not have worked out.
  3. I posted this in another thread, but this is probably the most paid attention to thread for the gap trip for all you guys... Since I'm here in TN I get the news reports somewhat often about I 75 S being down to one lane and closed at times due to a rock slide back in March. The back up on 75 is generally 5-10 miles long. Rt 25 is the main detour so find another way around. I've not heard when it will be open fully again...
  4. All you guys that are slabbing it down, take note of the road conditions on I75 south at Jellico mountain...it has been one lane for awhile, then this past weekend I believe it was..it was closed competely...
  5. I just re-read my post and didn't mean to come across as a smartass. I made my comment in humor, but forgot to put much in the way of punctuation or smiley faces. Anyway, definitely look up Krambonz, it really is some good bbq.
  6. I hate to inform ya'll, but Krambonz bbq in Tellico Plains is actually the best in the area.. I plan to head over early Sat morning and stay thru Sunday afternoon sometime. I doubt I'll ride much more than 28, the Cherohala, and deals gap. However if you have enough time for a big day trip go down and travel around Blood Mountain in GA. While you're down there take a ride through Helen, GA too. Pretty cool little city. I've not been, but I also hear that Bridal Veil Falls in Highlands, NC is a pretty cool waterfall to see as well...
  7. Been thinking this over for awhile now, and I may just end up riding over for the day then riding back home.
  8. Bike looks good! Most of the riders on this forum are a pretty safety oriented group...If you plan on doing group rides, you probably won't get to go with many groups if you were to show up in shorts. It's very gear oriented here. It's better to sweat than bleed. I really don't care what anyone else wears when they ride, but I won't ride with anyone wearing less than protective pants, jacket, gloves, and helmet...If you go down I don't wanna stick around for EMS or whatnot from a simple lowside.
  9. I'm gonna go with Canon as well. We shoot with the XS. Just an entry level and really like it. We bought it used for $300 off craigslist. Just picked up a 50mm 1.8 lense and continue to be impressed with the capability of this camera.
  10. Born in '85. Been riding street since '05. Dirt since '91.
  11. Link to her memorial page on facebook... https://www.facebook.com/NatashaLouisMemorial Looks like I'm making the drive to New Jersey Motorsports park for the memorial service on Sunday. If anyone feels inclined to donate, there's a link on the memorial page for such activity. Also some sort of foundation is being looked into, in her name.
  12. So I just found out that another rider has been taken too early. She could ride as good as some of the best guys I know. Without her I wouldn't have been able to go to MotoGP because she let Jenny and I stay in her room. My trips to Deals Gap wouldn't have been as memorable without her. Riding will never be the same...Tasha, you will be missed dearly. She had just became a control rider with Absolute Cycle http://www.absolutecycle.com/raceshop/. They were at Jennings GP in Florida this weekend for a trackday and she passed while on the track.
  13. Fill me in on said gas cap problem....Girlfriend has an 02 f4i with a gas lid problem...Can't open sometimes and when ya finally do it's got some excessive vacuum...if you don't want this thread to continue feel free to start a thread or PM me...
  14. Inspect the float needle closely. If the rubber tip has hardened at all or has any metal buildup it will not seal. Also if it's older sometimes it will look like there is a ridge on the needle, if that's the case you need a new needle. I always used carb cleaner and took a fair amount of time to polish the needle tip. As recon said the seat needs be be shiny and clean with no build up at all either.
  15. You've pretty much nailed it... Either the float doesn't float, the needle doesn't seal, or the float height is off.
  16. I used to ride at the gravel pit and river bottoms off of die mill road, but I don't think it was ever legal. We never got caught or chased, but when they built the bike path I stopped riding back there. Another sold the dirtbike because of no place to ride vote here...
  17. I'm glad...I don't have $140 and I would have bought this anyway. Selling out prevented this.
  18. Its my understanding that the military is cutting back on re-enlistments too...My girlfriends sister is stationed at Quantico and said that they were only re-upping about 40% this year.
  19. I'm not sure what you consider a good price, but Dicks seems to be cutting theirs almost in half... http://www.theblackfriday.com/ads/dicks/dicks-sporting-goods-black-friday-ad11.shtml
  20. Never heard of Marcs...Are there any between Cincy and Dayton? I'm coming home for Thanksgiving and will be heading up 75...
  21. I'd like to pick up a PS3 bundle for 150 or so if anyone sees that deal...I want it more for the online tv and blu-ray, but gaming would be nice to have.
  22. After reading through this I'm in the minority it appears. I don't think firing was enough. Every person starting with McQuery should be charged with some form of child abuse. While Sandusky was the perp McQuery, Joe Pa, and those above him are just as guilty. This is a group of people that all knew what was going on for a decade and turned a blind eye to it and let it go on. The janitors that saw Sandusky in the showers with a boy in 2000 should be facing charges also. I don't care what the contract says or what rules dictate, it's not acceptable to let child abuse/sodomy to go on and do nothing about it. I've got to believe if I walked in on it I'd walk out in cuffs. Anyone who would see it happening and walk out is as guilty as the perp.

  24. This was his Indy 500 win back in May I'm pretty sure...
