hrm...what year? I wonder if anything is interchangable between my wife's Mazda6 or not.

I remember the car from Cars and Coffee. Love the turbo twists, don't you dare change them. Welcome to the site.

Jason, are you dead set on a quad for him? Josh is right that the dealers won't sell you one based on their age because of the HUGE penalties that they could get...it's just not worth it for them. However, while the restrictions are somewhat general and likely don't apply to things like when your 14 yr old boy is pretty much full grown, they're not completely without merit. Quads are particularly dangerous because people let the 4 wheels lull them into a sense of security. Flipping a quad over is quite serious. While it seems like backward logic I think that dirt bikes are more safe than quads in almost all circumstances. While you're more likely to have small falls and bumps and bruises from them you're less likely to have a life threatening injury. This of course is assuming that your boy will ride the bike in a controlled manner just as you would have us assume he would the quad. You don't have to buy him a race bike either, have Josh show you the DRZ lineup.

Sorry to hear the 7 had to go Erik, but I'm sure you had plenty of good rea$ons to sell it. Plus, outside of your work trucks I think that's the longest I've known you to keep a running/working car. As for the Evo, if you don't think you're going to go far enough to need a built block and you know the long block is in good working order, I'd just buy it, throw it in and be done with it. Buying a short block, rebuilding your head, and then putting everything back together just opens you up to more oppportunity for something to go wrong...all this without the benefit of more power potential if you're just going for a stock build.

I used to avoid BP in any of my performance cars due to rumors of it having water, lower octane, blah blah blah we've all heard them. The reality now is that it's just habit for me to use other stations so why change? There's not one conveniently located by me anyway. I used to use only Sunoco 94 in my M3 and FD, but the station by me changed brands. I've been using UDF/Mobil 93 in those cars and not had any problems (*knocks on wood*). I honestly think that the individual station you use has more effect on getting "bad gas" than the brand. I look for a station that is relatively new so that there is a better chance the in-ground tanks aren't junk yet, and one that has regular traffic thru it so that my chances of getting old stale gas are more rare.

What vehicle platform needs attention in Columbus?
Smokey replied to DTM Brian's topic in Passing Lane
I'd have him look at one of the rotary specific shops in town. (Rx7 Store, Defined Autoworks). As for Brian I would STAY AWAY from rotaries....seriously, this is coming from an owner here. edit: Andy beat me to the second part, no need to restate. -

Quite true Tim, I didnt realize the production numbers on the MS cars were so low. But, once again, I'm willing to bet a higher proportion of those owners are looking to tune their vehicles. I also still maintain that tuning direct injected cars should be the focus to stay on track of where the market is going. Perhaps the MS cars would be a nice way to test that out. -

you mentioned Mazdas, does anybody locally work with the MS3 and MS6? There's obviously performance potential with those platforms and the owners are likely to want to go that route (I'm saying this because they bought the fun/performance car to begin with). Currently I believe that COBB offers a programmer for the vehicle that seems to be the way to go, but is there an option to custom tune those platforms? I would think that good experience with tuning direct injection setups would likely lend itself well into the DI engines from BMW and other manufacturers going that way. -
BOGEY...I'll definitely be out of town. Take lots of pictures for me.

sorry for the confusion, I was referring to Ramsy talking about how they used to be on Sunbury Rd. I don't know anything about the new closing, but I sent a message to a friend who's father used to work there.
-
they moved. News to me that the new one closed.

that came out great. That car was BEAT when it showed up!

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2009/autos/0904/gallery.chrysler_deals/index.html They announced that the affected dealers will need to get rid of their inventory by June 9th...that seems pretty darn quick to me.

PM David Jerome (DJSeven) on rx7club. He usually has something sitting around and is always fair on pricing and shipping.

I would take this deal in a heartbeat!! Sorry, all I've got is one with no 4th gear.

there are a lot of Ohio dealers on there. Ed Schmidt is getting the Axe, I grew up down the street from him when I lived in Toledo as a kid. I noticed most of the Ohio dealers were in smaller towns, I wonder if they're going on the mentality that people will drive to the bigger cities to buy and just focusing on the bigger markets? Edit: Picked out the Ohio dealers I could find, not claming to have gotten every single one. I'm quite envious of the 335. I like what you've done with it as well. Welcome to the site.

always liked TIIs, welcome to the Thunderdome.

2 men and a truck. They won't be the cheapest by any means, but they'll do it correctly.
-
that definitely sucks. I see him every now and then as one of my best friends lives up Lancaster a bit North of where he usually resides.

free bump for you Clay. Unfortunately myself and big Rob won't be out this time due to taking part in the Race for the Cure. We are hoping to have his 67' Caddy at the 30th event though...for a little cars, coffee, and cigars.
-
I would say that a great opportunity to drive it would be to take it to Cup O' Joe. I'm honestly not trying to be a dick and deter you from putting on an event, but Clay has done a great job putting one together already, you just have to show up and enjoy.

yeah, I knew the holes would be bad, but hadn't thought about rubbing damage. I've certainly considered respraying the car just to get rid of the wing.
