  1. Yeah just as they popped over the hill out of 10-A and Drew started to bend in to 10-B to Drew last race I did run 2 1:24.8s
  2. Just get a wide enough chixel or flat punch and hammer. that is what I have always used. just slow and sure gets the job done. +1 on getting the rear end unloaded. will help immensely.
  3. I have tried some of the aftermarket tools and were useless. I even tried my Honda spanner wrench they provided and it didn't work on the Suzukis.
  4. Dang I was hoping it wasn't that severe.. Hopefully that chip doesn't have to be taken out... I never walked around the front of the bike. I didn't want to see it.. Hoping for the best for ya man..
  5. I talked to him for about 15 minutes, he is ok but his left ankle took a shot. I am not sure if he was going to the doctor today to check the ankle, but he has either tendon/ligament strain or tear. Pain was starting at the heal and running up the back (Achilles I think) of the ankle. That seemed to be his only issue. The bike was trashed. the front end was ripped off (it hit the guard rail out of 10 hard). in the trailer it was sitting on what was left of the forks and the rear was in the baxley... Tail didn't look to bad, as the subframe still looked straight. He was on his old plastic... He might be able to get away with a new front end (forks are done and internals as well), but that will be tough, never got a good look at the frame.
  6. Drew is ok, but damaged his ankle in Trojan's Novice Boner of the Year award move. Dre was railing even after I scared the shit out of him with a near highside with him on my outsie. He made the pass to 7th with a couple laps to go and pulled a nice gap, though thinking he was tailed he kept pace. On last lap he came up on a slowing novice in the last chicane. They rider went through the first right hander then started to lean in for the left so Drew being courteous was just going to take him on the outside. Well the novice was thinking the white flag was the checkered. (Instead of pulling off track into the pits at T3 like everyone had done in practice all weekend, he decided to get off in T10 last corner). So with drew commited to the outside the Novice rider started to exit the track with no hand up or nothing leaving Drew no where to go except into him and his rear end. Luckily Drew got slowed down enough and only bumped into the guard rail, but his bike to a thrashing. I just want to take this post and wish Drew good luck on the Prognosis and a speedy recovery man...
  7. yep my bad... I just skimmed it after I got back from the track this afternoon.
  8. This story is a coupe years old.
  9. If you are teaching new riders be prepared to run 25mph through the corners, and don't leave them unattended as with my case above. New riders who have no fundamentals for cornering are not prepared for the challenge of those roads. Had you ridden dirt before the street? Honestly you think someone who does not know to look through a corner, counter steering, developed no skill to read a corner, what to expect from blind corners, seen a true decreasing radius, or even leaning your body with the bike (not hanging off just not fighting the bike), is ready for that road? There are a lot of good roads in the area that are not as involved as the NKY roads and perfect for new riders to work on very basic riding. When I say new riders I mean someone who has never truly gotten a bike past the lean angle that is on the kickstand.
  10. I went myself after 2 months of riding, but I stuck myself behind a Shadow ACE 1100. That way I could relax knowing that if he made the corner I had no issues on my SECA II 600. I had a friend who had ridden for 6 months, but no matter what we told him he just rode back and forth to work and never practiced leaning the bike. We thought he was ok, (I thought my dad was going to be infront of him 2 up with Mom on the BMW 1100 RT, but rode behind him). As soon as the bike infront went out of site a few turns later he did everything wrong and ran off at like 25mph in a turn my dad went through with ease 2 up on the BMW. Had he done one thing right He would have made the corner easy, but he Panicked, Froze, Looked at the ditch, didn't even brake, etc.. If he would have turned his head at minimum he never would have thought he was in danger. And this was on the open area not the Blind hilly section that Brandon runs. After that I will not take new riders to that road.
  11. Edgewater if you break 120 Trap speed you are required full leathers. Under that and you are good with leather jacket, jeans, and boots above ankle. But since I broke 120 on my first run on my 600 good thing I didn't try it.
  12. Hey Brandon have you kind of put a limit on new riders for 22? After some of my experience with new riders on 22 I won't take a rider with less then 3 months on the bike. Also you guys need to try out the other side Falmouth to Williamstown. It is more open and not so much of blind entrys.
  13. I need to get to the Strip and see what I can run the 1k. I was mediocre on the 600 with 11.3-11.5 with 1.9 best 60 ft. I know my launches in Nashville races were 1.9 at the highest.. Edgewater here in Cincy first time I went the tech sheet said bike had to have a MANUAL Kill device. So when I went through they said where was my kill device? I reached over and clicked the kill switch. They said that isn't good enough I said why, they showed me the same sheet and pointed out the Manual Kill device. I pointed out very loudly that I am Manually killing the bike. He then began to argue, so I said fine if you all are too stupid to fill out your tech sheets so people know what is needed i'll go somewhere else.
  14. Dang I would be up for this. Where at? Let me see if I am racing that weekend or not. As long as Flounder isn't flying the plane

  20. Hell it took the damn Service technician to find me a Drain plug crush washer for my Suzuki. he kept bringing me what looked like crush washers for a CBR (look more like a standard washer). Ended up being the same as the yamaha crush washers. It was pretty lame there. the sales area is beautiful, and have more bikes in their show room then some of the shops here in Cincy sell in 2 years I think.
  21. Same, unless you have a Lizard 750 that puts 150 rwhp. Only the 1000> need 190s. Fronts are all the same width. The bigger the /## is the taller the profile thus faster turn in so to speak.
  22. 600 just run 180/55 rear and 120 front.
  23. Yea but we get 2 inches of snow and the car will be up to the axle. I think I am more afraid of being in a accident in a smart car then on the bike..
  24. If you do replace your rotors I suggest EBC Pro Lite rotors as they work, are very inexpensive (about $300 a set for front), and are easy on the pads.
  25. If it is a slip grab then just take some sand paper to the rotors to make sure you remove any glazings. Also pull the pads out and run the pads over some sand paper to rmake sure they aren't glazed. If they are warped you will feel a vibration in the Lever as the pads are pushed back out inside the calipers.
