  1. I'm somewhat interested just so I can yell, "I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS." http://www.movieweb.com/tv/TEiCVjmojGS5lr/HU1Uy914nwV743
  2. a race license with WERA doesn't make you fast. I'm a $110 check away from having one There are certainly some fast guys with yellow plates, but there are also some guys riding a slow "I" pace with yellow plates. I think the "faster than 99% of the people on this forum" claim could be true. There are a lot of members who have never done a single trackday. I'd be surprised if 5% of the members actually have.
  3. I kind of want to post my Gingerman time just so I can be #1 until someone else notices :-p
  4. love the V-Rod. Shows what HD is capable of when they put their design efforts into motorcycles instead of apparel. Wish they'd put as much effort into their other bikes. that one looks good, but I'm not a fan of the solid wheels. Ugly, and unnecessary un-sprung weight IMHO.
  5. true story. I did like 12 days in "B." No regrets whatsoever. I'm a better rider for it. the tough thing about NESBA is that (I think) unless you really blow them away, they like to see you at 2 tracks. Like I said, I did like 10 or 12 days in "B" group, and was finally bumped up when I rode with NESBA at Nelson Ledges.
  6. that's what I'm saying... there are probably a handful of people in the world whose bodies can take something like that. How many of them realize it and choose to become distance runners? Maybe 50. in the world. I hope she's one of them. I wish her the best of luck, but my prediction is that she is moving damn slow by day 6, and done by day 8... HOPE SHE PROVES ME WRONG!
  7. yeah, i was thinking "these are the 3 people not going to Putnam," and put Putnam in the title... I'm retarded. I've been to BeaveRun at least 10 times, so I have decent knowledge of the track. I'm certainly no expert, but I can tell you what you DON'T want to do (like get wide in T7), and answer the easy questions. YOu'll be fine. everyone had a first trackday.
  8. so he bought a fast, light car, and then started modifying it to look lighter, but not actually be lighter? i guess I've never had enough money to understand the (lack of?) logic.
  9. i can't wait to read the comments on that video...
  10. anyone still checking this thread, check your PM's. the forecast suggests that we will get wet this weekend, but only briefly. I'm not concerned in the least. I'll have shade to share if that's an issue for anyone.
  11. '98 should work with '97, but I think there's a difference with '95/'96, even though they're all F3's. check eBay for the chinese knock-off brands. Might also have some luck on the WERA board, but street bodywork is kind of rare on that site unless it's from a new bike that someone is converting to a race bike.
  12. she's doing it on a track? wow, you couldn't pay me to run 1 marathon on a track, let alone 11. 4+ hours of running is boring enough with scenery.
  13. forgive my cynicism. I can't help it... IF 11 marathons in 11 days is physically possible, it can't be medically advisable. I respect her fund-raising efforts, but I hope she's also taking donations for the knee replacements she's going to need after completely demolishing all the cartilage in hers. i'll check out her facebook page, etc.
  14. Cane's chicken on OSU's campus has had a delivery schooter for several years now. I could eat myself to death on their chicken and texas toast...
  15. how big of an item? a 450 single would be sweet around town. Narrow too. You can rig up luggage for almost anything, but the trick would be to do it without making the bike any wider.
  16. Humorous and memorable for sure, but most people are going to assume it's not a serious ad and keep on looking. Anyone who DOES take you seriously is probably not the type of person you want to interact with personally. Also probably not the type of person who you want to give your address... CL gets some interesting characters even with 'normal' ads. but seriously GLWS
  17. gotcha - I was guessing pickle works, or Bdubs in Broadview or something. I'm sure you have noticed how half the staff at any given local bar went to our high school.
  18. Look into the 2nd gear issue extensively. That's one of those things that probably won't be a problem, but is a big deal if it happens. Cheap(ish) to fix yourself, but that's if you feel comfortable opening up a transmission... As far as rearsets go, I would replace stock with stock. Aftermarket rearsets (vortex and woodcraft are the 2 brands I trust) will likely make the bike less comfortable, because they're going to move your feet up and back at least an inch. Vortex's are adjustable, but even their lowest setting is noticeably higher than stock. If you want to drop by my house, I can show you a direct comparison with your honda next to mine. Actually, I'd be really interested in seeing the difference myself, because I bought my RR with the Woodcrafts on it.
  19. I saw a comedian in DC who opened with, "you ever been to Mexico? Didn't you expect the locals to have nicer lawns?"
  20. so work on the muscles, eff the hostess, and then completely ignore her for the rest of your life. btw, what bar?
  21. I was just saying that I've gotten drunk and made dumb claims. Not necessarily about riding, or about posting on someone else's forum or whatever. he "implied" they should post here by saying he was going to, and then not actually doing it? even if you're right, that's a hell of a stretch.
  22. he got drunk and said he was going to do something stupid? no way! I've never done that! Now if he's actually making posts just to stir the pot, then that's kind of a dick move, but talking about it is just talking about it. I did read part of the thread on their site, and insulting as some of the comments may have been toward OR in general, some of them are true too. Why do you assume they're talking about you when they say "a bunch of guys who can't ride" or something? Am I faster on a racetrack than all the junkies? No way. Am I slower than all the junkies? I doubt it. But if they're really going to "judge" people based on their riding, I'm not concerned. anyone else going to beaveRun this weekend? i've had enough forum in my life for the whole week. need more riding.
  23. Honestly, I think some of your posts have been a bit out of line as well, but at least you were provoked. I'm not going to judge all the assfault junkies by the conduct of one of their members any more than I'd like them to judge me based on your posts. now excuse me while I go paint a giant Swiss flag on my bike.
  24. so where are my pictures telling me I'm a skeptical a-hole? cell-phone quality is fine. anything that proves the pics you're posting are really of your bike, and that they were taken recently.
  25. You assume that everyone (in either group) shares the same mentality. I doubt that's the case.
