sounds Chinese, not American. But I guess an Asian influence would tie in to the "black belt" designation.
-
A friend of mine has his 'black belt' certification - WTF does that even mean?

Looking for a full time factory job? In the Cleveland area?

Mike - Would Lincoln be overly concerned with an applicant's past if they've cleaned up their act? I tend to see the dregs of society come through court, but occasionally the system works and a delinquent (or their parent) actually takes advantage of the resources the court offers them. There are a handful of people who I would feel comfortable sending your way to apply, I just don't want them to be completely shut-down if they're honest about their history. -
this is what I wanted to hear. That's interesting about the material. I was going to mock-up something in cardboard to get the volume close. It would have to be a simple rectangular-prism shape for me to do the math properly and have a prayer at fabricating the pieces. Then I would pay to have it welded up. that's the theory anyway... I'm sure it would be some trial and error. I'm fine with that so long as it's not costing me much in materials.

Looked at the pictures closer - how did the swing-arm get scuffed on both sides?

I should have assumed it was your place when I saw the Bearcats stuff in the basement. North Royalton schools are still better than Parma schools, but the 3 bedroom part is probably what would really kill the idea if I pitched it to the wife. She just got a raise yesterday, too, so we're sort of starting to look at houses instead of just talking about it.

what development is that? I don't recognize the area. We're currently 3 miles from my in-laws. Broadview Heights would put us within 3 miles of my parents instead, and in a much nicer school district...

yeah, my friend would not care. He wants it to look cool and commute in the HOV lanes in DC. Speed will not be a priority. I wouldn't trust him with a fast bike anyway. If he wants this, I'll probably trailer it and my XR out to DC, then have him learn on the 100 for a couple days before letting him loose on a full-sized UJM. Still, you have to love the "tariff beater" era bikes.

How does this do on the highway? I wish this bike weighed 50-100 lbs. less. Seems like that would make it a ton more fun! GLWS. spring is coming. Smaller bikes should be in demand soon!
-
That is not an ugly bike. I'll ride it for you and let you know if it's any good

Assuming one didn't have ninja carb-tuning skills, would it be moronic to build your own airbox with substantially identical volume to the stock until? Then you'd have to create intake hole(s) of the same area as the stock intakes as well, but the shape of the box itself should be relatively inconsequential, no? (legitimately asking here - not trying to convince anyone or claim I know what I'm talking about) I ask because the katana airbox is ugly, but I don't want the tuning hassles associated with pod filters - I've thought about relocating and reshaping the airbox instead of completely ditching it. It would still be a big project, but if it fails miserably, all I'm out is some time and mock-up materials, and the stock airbox can bolt back on. I might even utilize a pod filter or two in the design of the fabricated airbox, but the air intake hole would still be stock sized, just hidden by the external filter.

Buddy of mine watched sons of anarchy and wants a bike. I'm asking if this interests him. Good excuse for me to have a light project on someone else's dime.
-
Love this bike. Nakeds are my latest obsession. Thus why I stripped the katana. It looks pretty good for something designed to have skins, but the 919 is pretty awesome. Enjoy it.

don't assume you can't get top-tier stuff for $650. I paid $650 for a used, but un-crashed RS Taichi EVO that retails for $1,500 and is on sale for $1100 most places. I know it doesn't have airbags or any of that stuff, but I consider it top-tier quality.

You should come give it a shot. I found it harder than I expected to transition to a small bike, but Craig seemed to have no problem with it. OMRL - racing for people who used to not be parents...

It was pointed out on the WERA board that most of the professional level riders are still doing the 200 without team support - at least not their "full-time" team. Herrin is the only one I'm aware of riding the MotoAmerica series with the same bike he's using in the 200. What I'm most interested in are the club-level guys who have shown they can hang with the pros. this is the pre-entry list http://www.asraracing.com/Forms/2015/Daytona%20200%20entrants.pdf I know Jason Farrell's name comes up a lot as a seriously fast 'amateur.' And there's John Blike Jr. from Akron, OH as well. I am not familiar with him at all, but that's cool to have someone from Ohio on the grid. Would have expected Ryan Kerr if I expected anyone.

What kind of plans you thinking for your son? I know a guy with a sweet little RS125 chassis with a KX85(?) engine in it. It's definitely an 85cc 2-stroke. Not 100% sure on what make engine. But it's done right. Even the paint job is professionally done.

Mine isn't low mileage, and it is anything but mint, but I would let it go for a reasonable price. It's a 2000.
-
The FCC also dictates what's appropriate to say on the air...
-
Steve Rapp is also a confirmed entrant.
-
Have you considered just changing up the final drive ratio by swapping sprockets on the VTX? The concern your describing sounds fixable with a smaller rear sprocket.

They'll sell for costumes if nothing else. Having them DOT approved just reduces the chances of a lawsuit when some nerd wears it on a motorcycle with no actual knowledge of whether or not it's safe.

We all know Ben is a completely unreasonable a-hole who won't work with you at all on something like this ...or the exact opposite of that. I'm sure the 'casual labor' folks can work something out with Ben that works for the site, and is still fair to the full sponsors.

Lots of things can connect a TV to the Internet. I have a roku box, a wifi bluray player, and a smart TV. They all work. Bigger decision is how many services you're going to pay for. I have amazon prime, Netflix, Hulu plus, and some other crap I can't remember... It's still way cheaper than dish

alright, you've convinced me. I am really trying not to be the guy who just keeps the thread alive until somebody tells him what he wants to hear... I would really like an excuse to buy a table saw though
