Honestly, this is like the last presidential election. Strickland has screwed the pooch on virtually EVERYTHING he's touched with the exception of the CHL issue. Kasich's politics are more in line with mine, except his former stance on 2A Issues (although he has said in the past his vote during the Clinton Administration was wrong, and he's "learned his lesson"). In the end, I'll probably hold my nose and vote for Kasich. Small Businesses in Ohio really cant take 4 more years of a tax and spend democrat Governor.

Everyone but the lawyers LOSE in a civil suit, regardless of who "wins" on paper. Jury awards are ridiculous these days - for everything from medical malpractice to product liability. Because of this, insurance rates in those categories are through the roof. EVERYTHING you touch costs more because of it. Appropriate? Hardly.

Everything should be criminal instead of civil. Loser (plaintiff or defendant) goes to jail. Sounds good to me. Oh wait, we can't do that. Practicing law wouldn't be such a lucrative profession, and we'd have fewer lawyers. Never mind.

If you read some of the postings contained in the complaint the guy basically said he was doing it to fuck them up. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

THAT is signature material. Obviously, in this case the statements went beyond a "pissed off customer" and into the realm of what the business's attorney considered libelous. At that point a lawsuit is warranted and the business should be able to sue in Ohio as opposed to the location where the alleged libelous statements were made. The right decision was made in this case.

I'm not sure what door the decision opens, but libel is libel. The question here is the venue. As an Ohio business owner I see this as a step in the right direction. Its much more cost effective for me to sue IN Ohio as opposed to bringing suit in the state where the "statements" were made. I think they got this one right.

She's old news. I'm sure she enjoys being the "big fish" in the little pond at FT, but the fact of the matter is she couldn't cut racing endurance with WERA but wants to talk the talk. Go easy on Kosmo though. I'm sure he thought there was an "opportunity" there for him if he just played it right.
