  1. +1 on WVA. Cheap hotels, friendly people and great roads all over the place. I haven't done any dual sport riding there, but that has to be fantastic as well. Nice strip bars as well.....or so I've been told.
  2. Hopefully Hayden will step up and try to do something here. Hate to see him finishing mid pack all of the time.
  3. Pizza is just like beer; no such thing as a bad pizza, some are just better than others. I could make that place go broke by eating a couple hundred pizzas myself!
  4. That was Jason. He was saying that as there were about 20 bikes behind them for a decent amount of time. I'm sure had they stuck artound, they would have at least got some verbal abuse if not some physical abuse from the 18 riders that didn't go down the ditch.
  5. That wasn't very nice of me - sorry about that. Please don't take offense. I've been riding the area for 30 years, please believe me when I say I know of some other roads dpown there. I know what to expect on various days of the week and various times of the day. Still irks me a bit though that the low lifes have invaded the area and are turning into another Daytona Beach. Funny you'd mention the R1 / R6 Forum Conventions. Any idea who set up the very first R1 convention there? We had 10 members show up that year.
  6. Thanks Mr. Condescending. I had no idea there were any other roads down there.
  7. That video was shot by my bud from Indy - Jason. That's his retarded ex-girlfriend talking in the background "Why would they do that?!?!?" Glad he dumped her. What you don't see inthe vid is that they were ina motorhome with a 28' long trailer, going very slow. They probably should have pulled over and let people pass, but didn't think any of the pull off areas were suitable. Thus the HD guys going for the stupid pass. But, had the HD's been able to turn like a normal bike, they would have made the pass. The inability of the low riding HD's to turn is the main cause of so many of their wrecks.
  8. Great. Now the noobs are giving me riding tips. We were there on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Cops all over on each day. Did a early evening ride through at around 7:00 PM on our way back from GA Friday and a bike cop was still on the Gap. They're getting wise to the early morning and early evening thing as well.
  9. yeah, but they're further away, too. Tennessee was nice as it was only a 5 hour trailer drive or a nice day's ride to get there. I've known for several years it was becoming "Little Sturgis" around there, but I kept hoping the fad would blow over.
  10. Awwww, ain't they cute! Congrats!
  11. They do at Deal's Gap. Just not on purpose.
  12. Not to sound like a bitter old man, (little late for that, eh?), but 20 years ago it was fantastic. 55 mph, no HD's, no cops and a "busy" day meant that there would be 6 bikes at Pete's Deal's Gap gas station. Gone forever it seems.
  13. Same here - I'll never go anywhere near that place anymore until the HD fucks are gone or all dead. Lots of other places to ride away from there.
  14. The roads are absolutely choked with HD's going 15 mph. How they manage to have so many crashes at that speed is beyond me. And that's what it attracting the cops. Last week, a woman from Canada lost it in a curve and hit a tree and was killed. Huge numbers of female riders, that are obviously in their first season of riding. wobbling all over the roads. Nothing against women riders at all - but don't bring your 800 lbs bike here to ride ff you can barely navigate a corner and speeds of 20 mph scare you.
  15. And then there's these assholes - protecting and serving the shit out of people who dare go over 30 mph but ignore the drinking and riding, crossing lanes, etc...
  16. Saw shitloads of this... Fools with little gear on crossing the yellow lines into my lane as I rode.
  17. I used to go 8-9 times per year. Not anymore- I'm done with the place.
  18. The skill level of some of the riders is also hard to believe. We saw 3 bikes in the space of an hour get dumped just trying to get out of the parking lot! Missed the shots on the first two and only got pics of them picking up the third one. Should have hung around for another 20 minutes to get the next one.
  19. The realization hit me square in the face this past weekend; Deal's Gap area sucks. It's jumped the shark big time. 1,000's of un-muffled Harleys blatting around at 15 miles per hour, clogging up traffic as best they can while constantly revving their motors so everyone else can enjoy the sound of theire shitbox paint shaker bikes... The owners of the Deal's Gap store have embraced the HD'ers. They now sell beer. Saw loads of riders sitting there, drinking multiple beers and then heading out on ther Gap on the bikes. Un fuckin believeable...
  20. The funny / scary part was; they wore absolutely no safety gear whatsoever. No gloves, no hardhats, no shirts, no faceshields, no hearing protection - nothing. Nada. But they humped it hard and did a killer job!
  21. Called Joe Blow's Tree Service and they brought out the heavy artillery today... 5 rednecks and a Mexican showed up and busted ass for 45 minutes and had it done.
  22. The insurance will get it off of my roof, but doesn't pay for the cutting up of it or the removal from my property. Fuckin' State Farm - gotta read the fine print. Gonna take 1-2 guys most of a day to chop that sucka up and remove it.
  23. No shit- what's with all the rain and tornados this late in the year? I can see that this is gonna cost me some cash.
  24. Who has a chainsaw and nothing to do in the next couple of days... Fuggin' tree wasted my house yesterday during the storms we had. Bummer. Satellite deesh got hammered, too. So no TV for a few days... But I was lucky enough to find my mailbox down the street. Little red flag thing is bent all to shit, time for a new one... Porch umbrella has seen better days, too.... I just love living in the midwest.
