    your vs you're

I get into arguments with a couple friends of mine over this kind of shit all the time. Your/you're, lose/loose, affect/effect...whether irregardless is a word. And working in IT, where communication with people is sometimes confined to the 'written' version of our language, it's amazing how many people are unable to correctly utilize the English language. It's not typos, it's improper word selection. And it's best when it comes from a VP or some director. I am the first one to admit that I lack proper typing skills. You will find typos in a lot of my posts. But for Christ's sake, if you're going to use a word, know how to first.
  2. Thoughts and prayers for a sppedy recovery. Good news for her not having to have surgery. Keep us posted.
  3. I have friends and loved ones involved with racing way back in the AMA days in the south, and one of our biggest bitches about the Dayona 200 was the goddamn pace car. A cage has no business whatsoever being on the same track as racing motorcycles. Now DMG has infected that problem into all of the Superbike races. And it won't change until someone gets killed. Here is an interesting article about the 'explanation' from DMG and how the presser went. Idiots. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2009/Jul/090707sbpc.htm
  4. I am on call this weekend, so unfortunately, I am not able. Sounds like a fun gig, too.
  5. This is why riding will always be better than therapy. Glad you get this kind of time to ride, man.
  6. JRMMiii - If I had hit that, you and I would both have new 1198s by now. (Keving would have a Hyosung.) Jagr - I am too timid for that. Aggressive women scare me. Goes back to an unfortunate incident with a wookie in my jarhead days. (full body shiver begins now)
  7. UPDATE!! I was made aware of something tonight that may keep me from having to sell the bike, so it's now off the market. I'll ask for you to keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks for all the great support from my mates here at the OR!!!!
  8. If I hadn't abused my kidneys in the Corps so bad, they would be worth more than the bike. But alas, they are not. I will try and get some better pics up tonight.
  9. Well, it was fun while it lasted. I have had my RC for 3 years, but I must now part ways with my RC. Have some things I must take care of, and this allows me to do so. Here are a couple quick specs on it, but PM me and I will give you all the details I can muster: http://www.ohio-riders.com/picture.php?albumid=114&pictureid=1284 2003 RVT1000R ~16,500 miles Stock motor Two Bros. CF exhaust, and set of Leo Vince aluminum EVOII exhaust. (Running the Leo's now with stock ECU. TBs prefer a PCIII.) Was down on it last year, but the damage was completely cosmetic. Replaced everything damaged with OEM gear save for a ZG Double Bubble windscreen and Pazzo levers. Needs new frame sliders on the right. Asking $5400. No trades.
  10. Glad to hear you are okay and you had your head on a swivel. I am always checking my six when at a light, and why I like to be first. +10 for situational awareness.
  11. I should make that for my kids the next time I make hot dogs for them.
  12. Crushing to hear, my friend. Condolences to you and the rest of his friends and family. And to add what others have said, you shouldn't carry any of the burden in this. It's not like you talked him into bikes all together. He had one, and this unfortunate event could have just as easliy happened on that machine. Save yourself the additional sadness. You are in my thoughts, bro.
  13. YUUUUUT! This is my rifle. There are many like it but this one is mine.
  14. It's my Friday here, too. So jeans, Honda Racing long sleeve T and sneaks. +1 for long weekends!
  15. I have State Farm, and have my homeowners, life, and car ins. with them. I pay about $28 a month for full coverage with a $250 deductable. Not as great as some others here have, but it's not bad really. And they do rate based soley on engine displacement, per my agent. But if a bike is all you'd have with them, expect to pay a higher rate.
  16. Anything from Wesley Willis. "Rock over London, Rock on Chicago! Heinz. It's America's Favorite Ketchup."
  17. I saw the vid for that TODM song Monday. Seriously f'ed up dude. Those guys are okay, but they sound too close to Nickelback for my liking. And everything N'back does sounds exactly the same.
  18. June of '96 I was haulin's ass around Jax, FL on my FZR, fixin' 18's, and fun 'n sunning on the beach. You hadn't even been laid yet. Christ I feel old.
  19. You are a baby. Jesus jumped up Christ.
  20. Ahhh, but do you know what it does?
  21. C'mere boyah! Yer mah little puppy now!
