  1. this thread makes me want to build my own cafe.
  2. chris and/or brian - what turns are you guys braking hard on vs just a slight trail brake? someone once told me, i think it was you brian, that there are really only three hard braking areas on this track, end of the backstraight being one of them...
  3. jeff - do you know by chance when the deadline is to register for the twilight this next thursday?
  4. did you check with the econo lodge across the street from the holiday inn? when i was there may 1, holiday inn was ~100 for one night whereas the econo lodge was ~45.
  5. highly considering going to the 19th twilight - but i'm waiting to sign up as every single time i've signed up early it ends up raining. i'll be packing up and going after class on thursday, i figure it'd be a nice way to relieve the stress of exams
  6. you guys seriously need to find a way to catch the british superbike races... much better racing than the other series' running now. i will admit that monza wsbk was very good this past weekend though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi170iCYjzk
  7. for real, made anyone wearing it look like a jet pilot. i was contemplating whether i was maverick or iceman...
  8. just checked the schedule for the month - is there usable electric for the max twilight may 19th? i know we pit in false grid and even though i've spent countless years up there with scca i can't remember if there were plugs or not to use...
  9. just got your press release regarding rain and that is a giant step in the right direction! very good deal and a great incentive to go to mid ohio! if i didn't have class today or tomorrow i'd have come out to play. keep up the good work!
  10. you're gonna want to stay off the highways around that time. my route for that time period would probably be lane out to kenny. north on kenny to henderson or bethel. west on either of those roads to riverside(33) and then head south on riverside back to lane on home. about 30-50 minute ride depending on traffic on bethel and how aggressive you all ride. if it's too short by the time you get to lane, you can option to keep going south on riverside/33 and take it into downtown and come up high or 4th don't go north on riverside, traffic will be a bitch. southbound is usually traffic free during that time.
  11. suomy brand is excellent! plus they have killer graphics that'll turn heads and get you noticed by the female (or male if you swing that way)
  12. with enough money you can have the exact same bikes running in wsbk series - frame and swingarm are stock. engine's are stock based but tweaked to the extreme of extremes. suspension/electronics/wheels/etc are all available "off the shelf" with enough money and engineering you can have a similar bike to motogp - engineered from the ground up based motorcycle. everything is one off, nothing available to average joes.
  13. the part of the rule that gave him the drive through was he crossed the white line that guides the rider back into the track. not because of time/position gained or lost. still a bs technicality... i agree though race 2 was amazing! the headshakes that melandri had were monsters! (also, melandri's misses... dayum :jawdrop:)
  14. there is no rider school at the vintage days.
  15. HJC is coming around. There bottom brands are still bottom of the barrel, but there new RPS or whatever the Spies replicas are on are pretty close to top of the line i'd say in comparison with that of agv, suomy, shoei etc...
  16. check with your provider (carefully to make sure you don't get flagged) to see if you're health insurance covers that stuff. trackdays vs racing is different in most insurance providers. depending on what kind of morals you have you could play it off as a street accident which i've heard some guys doing. if not, brandon with ridersurance through aflac supplemental is what most guys i know run for the in case.
  17. i emailed traxxion before my race and they pretty much said there isn't any set guidelines for a track that bumpy but to soften preload, rebound, and hi-speed compression if you've got it. good luck.
  18. i can head down there and meet up with you so i can get them in hand? doesn't matter either way will work
  19. kinda matches your bike anyways lol
  20. you didn't race sunday? that would've gotten one weekend under your belt. at 200 that was a worthy investment and you'll be better off down the road. maybe not now but that was a steal. i bought mine for 300, some go for 400. so in essence you saved yourself 100-200 down the road to go towards tires/tracktime/fees.
  21. Mylaps showed you running 1:21s during your mock race FYI chris.
