I know this probably isn't a track-ready solution, but I bought a Sony DSC-t90 point-and-shoot to use for helmet cam vids and it works quite well. Sounds stupid, but the camera is small enough that I can set it in my helmet and close the visor and it sits just below my eyes and doesn't block my vision of the road at all (I have to tilt my head down some to see my gauges but who cares?) and isn't annoying to ride with. It almost shoots along my exact eyeline and because it sits in my helmet, it doesn't get much wind noise and if I feel like it I can talk and it picks up my voice crystal clear, along with the bike noises and other ambient stuff. It shoots pretty nice 720p video and I can get 60 minutes on a 4gb memory stick (which cost me like 17$ with free shipping, you just have to know where to go) in two 30-minute video files. It's a really simple solution that doesn't take much effort or set-up, and it's also a damn nice 12.0 megapixel point-and-shoot to boot. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there.
