  1. same day as rodo's RTE kickoff... shit...
  2. thanks for the $.02 Justin. I had not planned on doing any burnout or any other prep work my first run... My plan is just to let my bike run long enough to get the temp gauge to register before my run, get to the stage, wind to 1000 above idle, focus on the lights, wind it up and get the clutch out as quickly as possible. From there it's wide open throttle and shifts at 10k til I cross the finish. I'm still up 1 tooth on the front sprocket, so if i catch this racing bug, that will probably go back to stock as the first "mod"
  3. If you want to practice a burnout, wet grass works wonders
  4. yes, that is the proper method
  5. grab the front brake, lean forward, rev the throttle and release the clutch slowly until it breaks traction. NOT like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAuPTo2XfJI&feature=player_embedded or like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqeNRH87KyY&feature=related definitely not this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8c0tDzyKlA&feature=related
  6. All those shifter mods are cheating imo, just me, the bike, and the lights... pure.
  7. 6000 rpm is when my second set of injectors kick in...
  8. If I launch at 10, that's almost redline.
  9. I have an idea how to launch, but haven't really practiced or mastered it by any means...
  10. I'm just going bone stock my first time or 2 for sure, if I feel like something is holding me back, and catch the legal racing bug, then I'll start to consider more prepping/mods. I feel like my bike is already faster than my ability to ride it.
  11. If I try to go pro, I'll keep this in mind.
  12. Any advice on proper arm flapping technique (in case I get paired up with a mustang), or is that strictly for street races?
  13. Thanks apch8r! You're a gentleman and a scholar
  14. thanks for the input fellas. I doubt I'm gonna make any track records, as I plan on going easy on my new clutch for the first night or 2 I go anyway, but I would like the freedom of opening her up all the way without constantly watching for LEOs on the horizon.
  15. Do they do something other than hold an umbrella?
  16. yes thompson... I think i need some better gloves... and wear my boots (usually just wear my oxfords)
  17. feel free to elaborate, here or pm... i trust your input.
  18. depends on what I need, and what the weather is like... If I just need what I normally wear for riding, and the weather is good, then I'l probably go wednesday... beats bike night.
  19. FAIL wrong forum, mod wanna relocate me? kthanxbai
  20. Hey Guys... Thinking about doing some "legal" grudge racing wednesday night to get some race slips under my belt/test the water. What kind of gear/tech/prep work do drag tracks usually require? Also, any other tips, or rookie mistakes that I should be mindful of? Thanks!
  21. I believe the constitution is a static document, therefore, the "arms" you're entitled to bear are, in fact, muzzle loading rifles, flintlock pistols, and blunderbuss shotguns... any type of guns invented AFTER the amendment was signed can clearly not be included in that amendment.
